The cold wind blew fiercely, shaking the old aircraft they were aboard. Ricky, Sophie, and Kieran sat in silence, each pondering the dangers ahead. The once-clear sky gradually turned gray, with heavy black clouds hanging on the northern horizon, as if forewarning that this journey would not be easy.
"We're almost at the northern border," Kieran reported, staring at the navigation screen. "But I'm not sure this plane will hold up much longer in such a massive storm."
"If we stop now, Draven will reach the Master Crystal before us," Ricky said firmly. "We have to keep moving."
Sophie, seated by the window, looked at the sky anxiously. "This storm isn't natural. Something feels… off. As if another force is creating it."
Kieran frowned. "You mean Draven? Can he manipulate the weather too?"
"Not directly," Sophie replied while checking data on a small tablet. "But if he's destabilized the world's energy balance, extreme weather like this isn't impossible."
"Either way, we have to get through it," Ricky said, standing up and walking toward the cargo hold. "I'll make sure all our equipment is ready. If this plane doesn't hold, we'll have to continue on foot."
Sophie nodded and followed Ricky. "I'm coming. We can't afford any delays."

Minutes later, they were both in the cargo hold, inspecting their supplies. Advanced energy rifles, body armor, and survival gear were neatly arranged on the racks. Sophie checked each weapon thoroughly.
"Ricky, what do you think our chances are of defeating Draven?" Sophie asked without looking directly at him.
Ricky was silent for a moment, then answered seriously, "I don't know. But giving up isn't an option."
Before Sophie could respond, a loud noise came from outside the plane. A violent jolt nearly knocked them off balance. Kieran shouted from the cockpit, "Hold on tight! We've hit a massive wind current!"
Ricky and Sophie quickly ran back to the cockpit, bracing themselves as the plane shook violently.
"We've lost control! The navigation system is down!" Kieran struggled to keep the plane steady, but the storm was too strong. Dark clouds ahead swirled wildly, forming a massive vortex ready to swallow them whole.
"We can't get through this in the plane!" Kieran shouted in frustration. "We need to make an emergency landing before it's too late!"
Ricky glanced at Sophie. "We don't have a choice. Get the emergency parachutes!"
Sophie quickly opened a compartment and pulled out three parachutes. "Kieran, steer the plane as far as you can toward open ground. We'll jump from here."
"Got it, but we only have one shot!" Kieran responded, trying hard to keep the plane stable amidst the worsening turbulence.
Once they reached a low enough altitude, Ricky gave the signal. "Now! Jump!"
One by one, they jumped out of the plane, freefalling into the raging storm. The strong wind buffeted their bodies, making it difficult to control the parachutes. Yet, they managed to steer themselves toward a rocky plain below, landing safely despite staggering upon impact.
"Is everyone okay?" Ricky asked, helping Sophie up.
"Yeah, just a bit shaken," Sophie replied, dusting off her clothes.
Kieran approached them, his expression serious. "We made it out of the plane, but our journey is far from over. Draven must be getting closer."
"Then we need to move fast," Ricky said, checking his weapon. "This isn't over. It's just beginning."
As they prepared to continue their journey, a distant rumbling sound echoed. It wasn't thunder or the storm, but the marching footsteps of something large and many in number.
Sophie strained to listen. "What is that?"
Kieran raised his weapon, staying alert. "It sounds like Draven's forces… but bigger than anything we've faced before."
Through the thick storm fog, dark silhouettes began to emerge. Dozens of mechanical creatures with thick armor moved swiftly, equipped with heavy weapons capable of destroying anything in their path.
Ricky gripped his weapon tightly. "This is going to be a tough fight."
"Hold your ground. We can't lose here," Sophie said firmly, readying the energy rifle in her hands.
"We'll face them together," Kieran added. "And make sure we get out of this alive."
They stood side by side, bracing for the incoming threat. The sound of the enemy's footsteps grew louder, signaling the imminent start of a fierce battle.
The storm raged on, bringing with it a biting cold that cut to the bone. Amid the fury of nature and the looming danger, they knew this journey wasn't just about survival it was about preserving the last hope for a world slowly falling apart.
