My sincerest apologies if I write anything that make any religion look down upon. I don't want any religion to look bad. I'm just writing about a village that bends the religion through superstitions, no more no less.

Chapter 1 - First Arrival

Me and my family live in Dhaka city, The largest and the most populated city in Bangladesh. Dhaka, where there is nothing but giant industries, buildings, machines etc, lies a beautiful village. It's a moderately sized place but pretty hard to find. Most of the villagers-no, every villager in this village is catholic and from what I heard, a bit…. peculiar. They believe in Dracula, vampire, ghouls, dark magic, rituals and other superstitions. I'm also a part of this village, although I'm a Muslim. My mother was Catholic. She took Islam after marrying my father. Although my grandparents accepted it, I don't think they accepted it from heart. I mean, who'll?? After marriage, my parents moved to Dhaka. And now, they've been living here for 18 years. I'm 15 now. Suddenly my father and my mother has been issued a task in America. Oh, by the way my parents work in the same organization. My parents wanted me to come along, but nah, just for a year, staying in America seems like a drag to me. So, my parents decided to take me to my village. My father's family is in Chittagong and that's way too far. So, we decide that the village would be the best idea. There is a big school in that village which has lots of facilities so education won't be a problem. But I wonder how will the family reunion will go. The last time I was there was like 12 years ago! So, I was nervous about it. We went there by an old, almost empty local train. Not many people go there. It's a bit isolated since not many people know of its existence. Even the government workers barely know about it. Only those who work there seem to know about it. After arriving at the village, we went to my grandparent's home. Everyone greeted me warmly. They talked to me, shared many stories and delicious snacks. I had no problem at all, but my parents went through hell. My grandfather specially, was in a total rage mode.

"Why the hell did you not come sooner?! Did you forget about us or what! 12 years…. we've been waiting for 12 years and yet..." the scolding went on and on.

"We're sorry father. Please forgive us." My parents pleaded.

Damn….it went on like this for almost 2hours! Finally, my grandfather calmed down. My grandfather has a 5foot 9inch rigid body like a British man, even in age 70. No wonder where I get my body structure from. He also has a moustache that will make any English ancestor (if I have any) proud. All of a sudden, I saw an old man Infront of me.

"How do you do young man?" the man asked.

I was confused. I thought he was my grandfather's young brother. But he was his assistant in the church. My younger grandfather was in Vatican City. I addressed the man saying grandpa, the biggest mistake any human should never make. After hearing this, my grandfather was furious like judgement day has arrived. My parents weren't spared. After 3 whole hours, my grandfather calmed down. My parents couldn't believe they're still alive. After eating lunch, my family was about to leave. I was sad. For a year I won't be able to see my parents. My parents calmed me down. Although my father was relieved thinking I was in right hands, my mother was worried. I wondered why. Maybe because she is a doting mother? Suddenly she hugged me and whispered into my ear,

"Listen dear, don't get involved in anything that would be against your grandpa, don't say anything against the myths and other superstitions, don't get too curious about anything. You know what they say, curiosity killed the cat, got it?"

"Yes mom." was what I replied but…. I still don't get what my mother meant that time. After that, my parents took their leave. 3 days have been passed since then. I am now enrolling into the villages renowned, famous and only academy, the St. Adams Institution. I can't wait to make new friends!
