Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Power

Mellic/Asna's POV

"I want you to pick it up with your mouth." I grinned at the expression she was making.

"You think you can talk to me like that, you animal—" She didn't get to finish his sentence because I slapped her hard. Five crisp slaps landed on her face. Her cheek bled, and all my maids and butlers were alarmed by my actions.

"From now on, learn your place and respect those above you. Because if you don't, I won't just slap you, I'll have you dragged out of this place dead. Is that clear!" I said, and I could see how scared they were of my threat.

"And you! As punishment for your disgusting treatment of your master, I want you to c*ut off your finger because if you don't, I'll cut off your arm." She trembled.

I left and went to my room. I realized that you have to be cruel and ruthless in their eyes because if you're not, you're the one who will suffer.

I entered my room, and every corner of it felt so cold. Is this how it always is in Segma? I sat down and thought. Why did that old man bring me here? I looked around my room, and it wasn't so bad.

I called a maid and had her clean it thoroughly, while I asked Albert to show me around the whole mansion. This was different from the mansion I saw with the Old Man before I opened my eyes.

It's just sad that I didn't even get to tell Sally my secret before I died. I didn't expect this to happen. I didn't tell her that I was the child of a notorious mafia, the number one criminal in the country. Because of her, we siblings were scattered. Or should I say I was the one who left.

"Why? Because I can't afford to lose any more friends just because they found out my father is a mafia."

"Albert, aside from the maids and you, who else lives here with me?" I asked to be aware of the people around me. In situations like this, there's no room for surprise; it's better to seize the opportunity given to me to survive.

"Princess Violet and Princess Asna," he replied.

"Violet? And who is she?"

"She hasn't arrived yet because she's invited to a tea party with the Fransesca family." I just nodded and walked around, leaving Albert because I had something to attend to.

It's really hard to be this formal, but I can manage because I don't like their attitudes. I'll go crazy later when they get their behavior sorted out. Honestly, I'm not a bad person. I just get angry easily, especially since I grew up in a strict family.

I returned a few hours later and saw a woman sitting on the sofa while being served by a maid. I didn't give her a glance and walked straight past, but I stopped when I heard her mocking laugh.

"You really have the nerve to step into my territory, don't you? After the fo*olishness you pulled in the palace. Can you believe it, how desperate you are to grab Prince Levi's attention, even when you look ridiculous?" she said. I didn't know what she was talking about since I had just transferred into this body.

"Your territory? As far as I know, this belongs to me. Who knew I had a pest living in this mansion with me? If I had known, I would have requested for you to be thrown out," I replied. I saw her expression change, replaced by anger. Looks like I got under her skin.

"So you're brave now? After poisoning yourself? That's the effect of poison on your body, and you still have the audacity to fight me!" She slapped me across the face. But I didn't let it pass; I slapped her back three times... No, I didn't stop there, I slapped her repeatedly until my hand felt numb.

"Next time, if you're going to slap me, make sure it hurts more than the slap I gave you. Just because I didn't fight back before, doesn't mean you can just belittle me," I said, and her cheek was already bleeding from my hand.

I left and went into my room. I need to learn about this place; I can't just sit here and do nothing.

I just noticed that my food hasn't arrived yet. I've been wanting to eat for a while now. I was surprised when Beranda, the one assigned to me, came in looking like she was about to pass out.

"Princess Asna, Princess Violet has closed the kitchen and is forbidding anyone from preparing food for you." How kind of her! I haven't even been punished for what I did... Just wait; I become even scarier when I'm hungry.

I went down the stairs and was indeed greeted by that witch. I almost wanted to laugh when I saw her swollen cheek.

"This is your fault! This is why my face looks like this! You think I'm just going to let this slide?" she shouted, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Arrest her! Lock her up in the dungeon!" Three knights emerged, approaching me. But before they could get close, a loud crash occurred, and the cement cracked from the force of it. I didn't expect that. I had forgotten that I had noticed this before when I lost control while trying to move a cabinet, but I just ended up breaking it due to my strength.

All I wanted was to slam the two knights to the ground, but I didn't anticipate that it would be this strong. I saw Violet's eyes widen in shock. Even I didn't know what had just happened. How would I know?

"You really haven't learned your lesson, have you? You still want me to slap you," I said. Just as I was about to slap her, she crawled on the floor, begging me not to come closer. I knew her face was already swollen, but I didn't care.

"Give me the key before my vision goes dark from anger at you." Her hands trembled as she reached out to me with the key. I could see the fear in the eyes of the maids around us. They should be afraid! It's about time they learned the word *respect*!

I went down to the kitchen and opened it. The cooks came in.

"Just let me help you here... I've noticed that the food you've been serving me isn't good, and above all, I don't like its taste." I grabbed an apron hanging nearby and started cooking. They all helped, which was good.

Half an hour later, it was finally done. They had no idea what this dish was that I prepared, but I could see in their eyes that they wanted to taste it.

"You may eat this... Next time, I'll provide the ingredients and directions for cooking, so do your best."

"Thank you, Princess!" said the head chef here.

"You're welcome." I left and saw Violet looking very eager to eat, pretending as if she hadn't seen me.

"You can go eat over there," I said as I walked away. Tsk! I knew she also went to the kitchen. I found out that we were both illegitimate children of Violet, so we were both kind of outcasts in the family. I couldn't blame her for acting like that; if you really lack care and attention, then maybe this is how Asna acts too.

I didn't care about our family relationship; as long as my life was peaceful and no one interfered with me, that was better than having every move and mistake monitored.

So, in short, there's no one else who will help us but each other; however, I don't want to interact with someone like her because I'll only end up pulling her hair out if she shows me that attitude. We really won't get along like that. I'm not someone who will stoop down because first of all, I'm not born a saint. Secondly, I'm not one to su*ck up to those above me. Instead, they are the ones who suck up for attention from me because I can shine on my own without relying on others.

For now, that old woman really doesn't care about us, but one day she will crawl back here. Just watch and learn; I can flip the table with just a word. I'll show them how badass I am.
