Chereads / CHARLENE'S DILEMMA / Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR

Chapter 4 - CHAPTER FOUR

FLASHBACK

" Leave my house this minute, leave!" Ramsey ( Charlene's baby's father) yelled, breathing heavily.

" You can't do this to us, Ramsey; you can't just send me away like that," Charlene said as tears rolled down her cheeks.

" What makes you think I can't send you away? This is my house, I have every right to say who stays or leaves. I don't want you, Charlene!" He yelled.

" Ramsey, please, if not for anything, please for the sake of our daughter. She needs more than I do. How do you expect her to cope with you? You know how much she cherishes you, Ramsey. Please don't do this to us."

" She will be fine; we can always co-parent, we ain't the first to do that, and we can never be last. So, stop making a big deal out of it." He said firmly.

" Ramsey, please… … … … … … … …"

" Ramsey, what are they still doing here? I thought you already asked them to leave." A lady said from behind Ramsey.

Ramsey just got a lady pregnant, her name was Andre. She and Ramsey started dating some months ago while Ramsey and Charlene were still dating.

Charlene and Ramsey were living partners, they'd been living together before they had their daughter Hilda. Hilda was just five years old. Ramsey maltreated Charlene, he brought different kinds of women into the house they both lived and each time Charlene confronted him, he sent her out of the house with their daughter without thinking about their safety, he has proven that he wasn't into Charlene but she kept turning blind eyes on his behaviour claiming he'd come around, it's been seven years of being with him yet he hasn't changed.

Scarlett has advised her severally to leave Ramsey and move in with her, but Charlene kept saying she was in love with Ramsey and leaving him would affect their daughter since she was a daddy's girl, but Ramsey never cared.

" Yes honey, they were about to leave," Ramsey said softly to Andre.

" Why are you so cheap? A man said, "He doesn't want you anymore, but you're here begging for love. Is that how shameless you are?" Andre asked Charlene rudely.

" I won't stand here and watch you disrespect me. First, you walked into my home and shattered everything, and now you're disrespecting me? No, I won't take that from you, so I advise you to keep quiet before I do what all of us will regret because I'm boiling in rage right now, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to get burnt," Charlene said furiously.

" Home? Did I just hear you say you're home? The last time I checked, Ramsey has never been married, or are you putting on an invisible wedding ring? Charlene, you're just a baby mama nothing else. So, get down from your high horse." Andre said with a straight face.

" Wow! Thanks for reminding me, my place is his life. Yes, I'm a baby mama; guess who is about to be a baby mama like me, too? You, so you see, we're both on the same page now." Charlene said to her.

" You lie, we can never be on the same page, Ramsey will marry me. I'm so special to him, he'll choose me a thousand times over you. Right baby?" She asked, looking at Ramsey sexily.

"I'll choose you over and over again. Charlene, enough of this, leave this premises this minute. Go and never go back, as for my daughter, I'll always get in touch with her." Ramsey said.

" You'll choose her over and over again, yet you brought different women into this house last month when she was already carrying your child. One thing I know for sure is that a leopard doesn't change its spots, so, he'll treat you the way he treated me. Andre, you just sit and wait for your karma." Charlene said, sobbing.

" What! Ramsey, so you've been cheating on me all this while? How dare you?" Andre yelled at him.

" Andre, she's lying. Please, don't believe whatever comes out of her mouth. She's bitter because she's leaving. I can never cheat on you Andre, please, believe me." He pleaded.

" You know what? I'm done here, just make sure they leave this house this minute." Andre said angrily.

" Why are you so wicked? Where do you want my mum to go?" Hilda yelled in her tiny voice.

" Hey little thing, are you yelling at me? Why are your manners? I'm sure your mum never taught you that. Gosh! She did a bad job raising you." Andre said, rolling her eyes.

" How dare you?" Charlene yelled, almost hitting her but Ramsey stopped her.

" Stop! Stop! Stop it!!! Andre, you shouldn't have said to my daughter that she's innocent in all of these. Charlene, leave this minute!" He yelled.

" So, that's all you have to say?" Andre asked and left their presence angrily.

" Dad, where do you want us to go?" Hilda asked, sobbing.

" Princess, you'll be fine. I'll come looking for you later. I wanted you to stay, but Andre refused, and I understand her; it will be too much stress for her to look after you since she's pregnant. So please bear with daddy, I'll come get you later." Ramsey said to Hilda, trying to hug her but she refused to let him touch her.

" Take your filthy hands off my daughter. You want us out of your house right? Just know this, you will never see or have my child, I promise you. Hilda let's go." Charlene said and grabbed Hilda's hand and their bags, and they turned to leave.

" Mum, where are we going?" Hilda asked with tears in her eyes.

" Hey baby, don't cry, you know mummy hates seeing you cry. We'll be fine without him, ok? I'll call Scarlett when we get outside."

Charlene and Hilda were out of the house, she picked up her phone and called Scarlett.

" Hello, Scarlett." She said and burst into tears.

" He has done it again, right?" Scarlett said angrily from the other side of the call.

" Yes, he came home this afternoon with a pregnant lady; he said she was his newfound love; he asked me to move my things out of the master bedroom to the guest room; I refused, so he threw my things and that of Hilda out of the house," Charlene said in tears.

" That son of a gun! He's doing all this because he knows you're an orphan, he knows you have nowhere to go to or anyone to run to, you know what? I'll get permission from my boss now; I'll come pick you up, but let me make this clear now: once you move in with me. You're never going back to that bastard, did I make myself clear?" Scarlett said firmly from the other side of the call.

" Yes, I'm never going back to that jerk. Never!" Charlene said.

" Text the address of where you are to me and I'll come pick you up," Scarlett said.

" Ok, I'll send it right away," Charlene said.

" See you soon," Scarlett said and ended the call.

She sent the address to Scarlett and she came to pick them up.
