Interstellar Ascension

On the endless expanse of Planet 888: The trash planet for trashy worthless people. The planet for the homeless, for criminals and for rejects. A place where scavenging and mercenary-like work is the only way to survive - 12 year old Kade finds himself dumped there, on this disposal planet having been recently abandoned by his parents.

On this hellish and desolate planet there is no economy, only criminals and low-life rejects fighting each other to the death in order to earn enough money for a ticket off of the planet - And to inherit abilities.

The Disposal Planet System for dummies:

Criminals, people rejected by family and homeless people are all sentenced to starting a new life on this planet in order to keep all the other planets clean and sightly.

The only way back to a normal planet is to earn enough money to purchase an interstellar ticket. 

Each person on a disposal planet (like Planet 888) has a bounty, AKA their worth. An individual earns money by killing another person, thus inheriting that persons worth. Which contributes to their own ticket + living expenses.

When one individual kills another. The alive person inherits their victim's ability/s. Every person to exist in this universe is born with one ability. There is no limit to the amount of abilities a person can inherit throughout their life. 

For reference, on a disposal planet, the average starting worth of a person is about 30 cents. and an interstellar ticket is about $15,000.

[Two months after Kade was sent to Planet 888 by his parents]

'I think I'm getting the hang of this lifestyle now!' Kade thought to himself. 

He is overjoyed because he has just inherited his first and only ability. 

Kade had been looked after by and elderly fellow for the past two months after arriving on Planet 888. The old man had been banished to this planet after becoming homeless. It seems that everyone on this planet is either a criminal, a reject or a homeless person who has been caught by the police. 

Yesterday the old man died. Of course this saddened Kade, but only temporarily. As it was also a great victory for Kade, for he had gained his first and only ability. 

Yes Kade only has one ability, and it was one he had inherited through killing the old man in his sleep… 

This is because Kade's own ability that he was born with was: 'The ability to be born with no ability'. This made him essentially worthless to his parents and also a disgrace to his family, this ultimately and eventually led to his abandonment.

Now Kade finally had an ability, and boy that old man was carrying a treasure. It's no wonder he survived so long without being killed - despite his weakness. 

Kade had inherited the old man's ability, the ability to move at the speed of time… It was called 'Timestep'.

What an overwhelmingly powerful ability! Kade feels like he has been reborn as a 'to be' legend.

It was time for Kade to build a legacy on escaping this planet and taking revenge on his parents.

Kade is currently alone in a dark and dense forest, as he is currently travelling north, following the overgrown abandoned train line that leads to the only interstellar port on Planet 888.

When he arrived on this desolate planet, the ship had never landed. All of the people sentenced to a new life here had simply been hooked up to a parachute and chucked out of the ship once a safe altitude was reached. 

Kade plans to travel to the interstellar port and kill all the people he meets along the way. In order to be economical and earn as much money as possible he will hunt animals for food, instead of buying rations.

"It is time to start the greatest killing spree that the universe has ever seen! I will slay tens of thousands!" Kade declares to himself. "I will become the greatest interstellar celebrity!" He continues.
