"Now I can only hope I haven't drifted too far off course!"
Looking at the sunset, Chen Zheng sat on a broken chair he had found on the beach.
His main concern was that he might have drifted too far off course because, after the plane crash, Chen Zheng had been unconscious, and he didn't know how far he had drifted while holding onto the piece of wood.
In fact, Chen Zheng had always been suspicious about how he ended up holding onto a piece of wood. It seemed like too much of a coincidence, one so unbelievable that even he couldn't accept it.
But it happened, and Chen Zheng had no choice but to accept it. The most important thing was that he was alive.
If he had drifted too far off course, whether the rescue team would be able to find this island was uncertain, and he had no idea how long it would take to be rescued.
Chen Zheng definitely didn't want to end up like Robinson Crusoe.
After eating some crabs and shells, Chen Zheng lay down early on his hammock. Fortunately, he had the fire, which was his only source of comfort at night.
"The best news today is that my seawater distillation device is working. Now I don't have to worry about dying from dehydration!"
"Mom, Dad, and little sister, I wonder how you're doing on your side..."
"I hope I won't have that nightmare again tonight... But I still can't figure out what that tiger head means in my dream. Why is there a tiger head in front of the golden light?"
As he thought, Chen Zheng closed his eyes and fell asleep, exhausted both mentally and physically.
During the night, there were no clouds blocking the sky, and the moonlight illuminated the sea, the island, and even Chen Zheng's face.
The sound of the sea breeze, the waves crashing, and the gentle swaying of the hammock.
By now, Chen Zheng had grown accustomed to these sounds, and they didn't disturb him as he fell into a deep sleep.
"Shasha... shasha..."
"Whoosh... whoosh..."
"Hmm..." Chen Zheng felt that the sound of the waves seemed a little different. "Is it going to rain?"
However, Chen Zheng wasn't too worried because he had built a rain shelter over both the hammock and the fire, so he wasn't concerned about rain.
He slightly opened his eyes, and at that moment, Chen Zheng felt a chill run down his spine, from the base of his back all the way to his forehead, and he even broke into a cold sweat.
In that instant, Chen Zheng's heart felt as though it were being squeezed by an invisible hand, making it hard to breathe, and his entire body started trembling. His mind went completely blank.
At that second, all sleepiness vanished.
What did he see?
Chen Zheng didn't know what it was, but it was a massive black shadow, just on the surface of the sea, close to the island.
It wasn't entirely black. About three meters above the surface of the sea, there were two white lights, and it was unclear what they were. Against the massive black shadow, the two lights made the whole sight even more terrifying.
Chen Zheng was just an ordinary person, at most a teacher with a good brain, and seeing something like this naturally frightened him.
Shaking his head, Chen Zheng realized what it was — a ship. If it were daytime and he saw this ship, he would be overjoyed because it meant he was saved.
But now, Chen Zheng felt his hands and feet turn icy. What kind of ship would be this dark at night? Could it be the legendary ghost ship?
As a history teacher, Chen Zheng had heard about some strange historical events, but could it be that he had encountered one of them today?
"Who's there?" Chen Zheng shouted loudly while picking up a burning stick on the ground, trying to muster some courage.
"Screech... creak..."
Suddenly, from the two glowing spots, a ladder descended. Because they were white and glowing, Chen Zheng could see clearly.
A person came down with the ladder.
A person. Chen Zheng tried to comfort himself, thinking maybe the ship's owner liked darkness and hadn't turned on the lights, so they only came over after seeing the fire he had lit.
But then Chen Zheng felt his skin crawl again because he noticed that while the person had come down with the ladder, they weren't standing on the ladder. They were descending through the air.
"Are you human or a ghost?" Chen Zheng shouted.
"Are you the one with the ticket?" the person said. The voice sounded old, possibly from a senior.
"Ticket?" Chen Zheng hesitated for a moment before remembering the drift bottle he had found earlier, which contained a ticket.
"Where's the ticket?" Chen Zheng thought for a moment and then pulled out the ticket and the dollar bills from his pants pocket.
"Yes, you are the one with the ticket. You can board the ship now."
Chen Zheng gathered his courage and walked up. With the light from the fire, he saw an old man with a white beard and a serious expression. The old man stood on the ground, and there was a shadow behind him. Chen Zheng relaxed a bit and asked:
"Board the ship? Elder, where is this ship heading?"
"See for yourself." The old man turned his head and pointed at the top of the two ladders.
Chen Zheng focused his gaze and saw that the two glowing spots each had a word written on them:
"Yip Man."
"Huo Yuanjia."
"What is this?"
"This is the destination of your voyage: Yip Man World Island and Huo Yuanjia World Island. You need to choose one of the two."
"What does this mean?"
Chen Zheng now understood what "Earth Island" meant on the ticket, but he didn't understand what "Yip Man" and "Huo Yuanjia" meant. These two were famous martial arts masters in history, which Chen Zheng knew, but what was going on here?
"These are two different movie dimensions. You can choose one of them, enter it, and go through training, learning, or adventures to improve yourself."
"Different movie dimensions? Two different movie works?" Chen Zheng was a bit confused. This was the first time he had heard of the term "dimensions," but he roughly understood what it meant.
"Yes, they are both from movie works. Please choose."
Chen Zheng stood there for a long while, trying to make sense of things. In simple terms, it meant that he was going to travel to one of these worlds.
"Can I choose not to go?" Chen Zheng asked in a low voice. He was just an ordinary person, and his instinct was to avoid this kind of situation.
"Are you sure you want to give up this opportunity?" the old man asked, his tone serious.
Chen Zheng gritted his teeth and replied, "I won't give up!"
