Elara's POV
He left, and I was thinking deeply. I had a headache from all the drinking and drama from last night, and I felt like I had brought my sorrow and chaos into his life when we first met, even though he was being exceptionally kind to me. I had to do something, so I got up and paced up and down in an attempt to think of a plan. Eventually, an idea came to me, so I left the room and looked around what appeared to be a lovely maze of a house for a while until I heard a phone ring. I moved towards the sound and saw that he was on the phone.
The scene before me in a glitzy office seemed like something out of a movie. He motioned for me to wait while he was on the phone, and I took my time to appreciate the effort God had put into making him so attractive. He ended the call by stating, "I told you to get some rest." I interrupted him, saying, "There must be something I could do." such as making a public statement or sharing my side of the story. Even better, a press conference Admitting , I invaded your personal space and gave you a forceful kiss.
And what he said, "drag your reputation through the mud and be tagged shamelessly or have to deal with my father and other business partners try to further punish you for the losses they incurred or stand yourself a chance to never freely walk in public." He asked, "Coming closer, He brushed my hair and looked me in the eye, saying, "I won't let you get hurt for mistake I played a part in." His words "mistake" really crushed my heart. Was it because he was being so kind to me, or was it because he labelled our kiss or involvement last night a mistake that hurt me? I had these thoughts when he whispered, "Elara marry me." Did I hear him correctly?
