In a distant forest, towering trees flourished, bearing various fruits. The scenery was majestic and beautiful, offering comfort and tranquility to anyone who gazed upon it.
Amid this natural beauty, a small black cat lay lazily on one of the branches of a tree, leaning against the branch.
The cat did not attract much attention with its appearance; its body was small, its fur soft and black, and its golden eyes reflected a strange brilliance. Despite its simple look, the cat's eyes revealed unexpected wisdom. The cat looked up at the sky, where the stars glittered like an endless sea of light.
"Three months have passed since I came to this world..." the cat muttered with a sigh.
The cat was called Tang Han. On Earth, he had been a notorious assassin, raised among the shadows of society. His life as a killer was neither easy nor peaceful, but it was filled with dangers he had grown accustomed to.
He lived alone, without friends or acquaintances, even among his fellow organization members. His isolation had earned him a reputation as a true assassin—as a shadow.
He always relied on himself, embracing solitude and mastering the art of being alone.
Reflecting on it, Tang Han couldn't understand why he had been so isolated. He vaguely remembered searching for something, but to no avail, as though possessed by some intangible force. But now, only hazy memories lingered, like a dream made of smoke.
Three months ago, Tang Han received a mission to assassinate an important figure with numerous companies. The mission seemed straightforward; he infiltrated the man's mansion at night and approached his sleeping target with a sharp dagger. However, just as he was about to end his target's life, a sudden white light erupted from the man, engulfing Tang Han completely and seemingly killing him on the spot.
When Tang Han opened his eyes again, he discovered that he had not died as he had thought but had instead been transferred into the body of a small cat. He tried to recall what had happened and questioned the source of that strange light, but he found no answers. Over time, he accepted his new reality, as he had no other choice.
Living as a small cat in a forest filled with beasts was a major challenge. Tang Han encountered creatures he had never seen before, some of which appeared extremely dangerous. His small body afforded him limited options; he survived on insects and small fish, although fish were far preferable to the insects he disliked.
...
One day, Tang Han woke early, stretched his body lazily, yawned, and jumped lightly from the tree.
Over the past three months, he had become more adept at controlling the cat's body, taking advantage of its natural agility and his past experience as an assassin.
He moved gracefully between the trees until he reached a small river.
"Gurgle..."
The blue river gurgled energetically as it flowed westward, reflecting the black cat's body.
"I hope I get lucky this time…" he said, focusing his gaze on the water.
After a moment of silence, his claws pierced the water with astonishing speed, catching a small fish. Despite its struggle, he held it firmly in his jaw and immediately left the river for a safe place, far from predators that might steal his meal.
After a while, he arrived at a small hole beneath a tree. It was one of his three eating hideouts. After cautiously inspecting the area, Tang Han settled down and began eating.
"Luckily, that bastard didn't chase me this time…"
Tang Han ate the fish quietly, recalling a previous incident when a silver hawk had stolen one of his catches.
He had been furious then, but he knew there was nothing he could do—he was just an ordinary cat, while his opponent was a cursed magical hawk!
"Fish is the best, after all!" While Tang Han never complained about eating insects, he still disliked them.
After finishing his meal, he felt drowsy and slept again; after all, cats were naturally lazy creatures.
At sunset, Tang Han woke up to a strange noise. He left his hideout to find the sky filled with meteors shining in vibrant colors. The sight was majestic, with meteors all falling in the same direction. There were countless meteors in the sky, glittering with brilliant and dazzling colors.
"Beautiful…" Tang Han's golden eyes sparkled with light, reflecting the scene before him.
The meteors all seemed to fall in one direction, but some strayed off course, scattering in different paths.
One of them came toward Tang Han.
Tang Han ignored it and continued admiring the beautiful sight.
At first, he paid it no mind, but he soon realized the meteor was quickly approaching him.
"Huh? Is it heading toward me?"
The moment Tang Han realized this, he felt terror.
He ran toward the depths of the forest. Fortunately, the sun had already set, so most of the ferocious animals were asleep; otherwise, Tang Han might have been eaten by one of them.
As he ran frantically, he stepped on a dry branch, awakening a white snake with purple patterns.
"Hssss!"
The snake hissed angrily and began chasing him. Now, the meteor wasn't his only problem; he had to escape the snake as well.
The distance closed quickly.
Tang Han ran with all his might, moving swiftly between the trees, but he felt exhausted. A cliff edge appeared before him, leaving him with no choice but to jump. While falling, he looked at the sky and saw the meteor drawing even closer.
"Damn it! Is that thing still chasing me?!" he muttered in a trembling voice.
At the moment of impact, the silver light emitted by the meteor engulfed him. He felt an indescribable comfort, as though his body were sinking into soothing warmth. His small body curled up, floating gently in the air, before landing softly on the ground.
Strange phrases appeared before him:
