Ring! Ring!! Ring!!!

Chen sighed out of frustration, he took his phone out his pocket and picked the call

"What is it again?" Knowing who the caller is, Chen asked with a hard voice

"Duuuuuude, you cannot believe this. You have to be here man, Anthony just basket six times in a row" the caller exclaimed 

"I tied you I don't have time, I need to work extra shift today get my Rita that jewellery " Chen explain expressing his frustration again 

"Tell you what, you make it here in time, I'll buy that jewellery for you" 

"Really?" he asked, his tone softening 

"Another, oooh" the caller screamed again, Chen can hear the spectators chanting Anthony's name. 

Chen couldn't resist the allure of the game, he swiftly changed his plan and headed to the 

Chen arrived at the arena fifteen minutes after leaving work, eager to join his friend Brian and catch the exciting basketball game. As he entered, Brian called out to him, and Chen made his way to his friend's side.

"Man, this is great. You missed most of the fun," Brian said, handing Chen a soda.

Chen smiled and took a seat beside Brian. The crowd was electric, cheering on their team with chants of "Pass the ball, pass, throw to Anthony!" The tension built as Anthony received the pass, and the crowd erupted in a frenzy of cheers as he scored.

Brian and Chen were on their feet, screaming with excitement.

As Anthony celebrated his shot, he walked over to the sidelines and kissed a girl, squeezing her waist. Chen's eyes widened in shock as he realized the girl was his girlfriend, Rita.

Chen's face fell, and his smile froze. Brian, noticing his friend's distress, hit him on the shoulder. "What's wrong, man?" he asked, following Chen's gaze to the sidelines.

Brian's expression turned somber as he took in the scene. "Hey, man, you can't let that get to you. All girls are the same," he tried to console Chen, but his words fell flat.

Chen's eyes welled up with tears, and he let the tears flow. Brian decided to give his friend space to process his feelings. However, Chen suddenly stood up and walked away, disappearing into the crowd.

"Hey, where are you going?" Brian called out, but Chen was already gone.

Chen made his way to the sidelines, his heart heavy with emotion. He approached Rita, his voice trembling with anger and hurt. "Hey Rita," he said, his eyes blazing with accusation.

"Hey, Chen, what are you doing here? Rita was both surprised and shocked, she wordered if Chen had caught her

"No, what are you doing here?" Chen questioned his eyes already turning red. 

"You were supposed to be working extra time" Rita continued

"Yeah, guess for who? A cheater! Fucking gold digging bitch" Chen flared up. Fans that are close to the sidelines are nit staring at them

"So what if I were? You are a poor rat that can't even feed yourself. Guys like you don't deserve a girl. I've been asking you for the same thing for over a month and you're unable to provide, don't blame me for choosing someone who can" Rita opened her disguise and defended herself 

The both of them continued their heated argument until Anthony came by. He had scored another basket but they didn't notice

"What's going on here?" Anthony asked looking down on Chen with a proud look

"Nothing have, just a stupid loser" Rita said romantically. She touched Anthony's chest and kissed him deeply. 

Chen couldn't stand the view so he left the arena. That was painful. It's not the first time Chen loose something important or git abused for being poor but this hurt him deeply. 

Chen's dad was an Asian but his mum was American. Chen was two when his dad died so his mum left him in orphanage and got on with his life. Chen never got adopted because of his Asian features but he's so intelligent he got a full scholarship for all of his studies. It was one of the things Rita liked about him but aapparently, it wasn't enough. 

"I'd choose money over brain any day" A deep masculine voice sounded beside Chen 

Chen stopped abruptly and looked at the speaker; it was a handsome American in his early thirties. His suit, watch and shoes shows he's very rich. He had on dark shades that his his facial fearures " who are you?"

"Don't worry about that but you are Chen Hunter, 19, Orphan extremely intelligent however, poor. I have been watching you for a while and you've qualified for this great opportunity I'm about to give you" the nan replied in his deep voice

"Oh, are you government?" thinking the man is government agent, Chen asked. 

"You ask too many questions. If you'll keep quiet, I'll tell you how to win this 200 million dollars check I have in my pocket"

Hearing the amount, Chen's eyes dilated. "That's everything I need" "I can get myself any girl I want" More thoughts rushed through Chen's mind

"What do I have to do?" Chen asked. 

"You have to a game and complete all missions before you can have this reward" The man explained

Chens excited face suddenly turn cold and angry "Scam, fuck off" he cursed and walked away. 

It was too good to be true, his will someone win 200 million just for completing a game

While still brooding over that, Chen's phone vibrated, it was a message 

"In case you change your mind, everything you need Jason been delivered to you house. Use it or break it"

A short message, no begging or persuasion. Chen didn't bother thinking how the guy got his number or address, he knew some people have power to do that. Curiosity took over him as he raced home. 

Right there, at his doorstep, a box was wrapped up like a Christmas gift. Chen carried the box which wasn't heavy buy any means. He opened the door and went in. 

Seating on his bed, Chen opened the box; there was a console, dark glass, a capsule and a note. 

"If you decide to try your luck, turn on the console, put on the glass and put the capsule in your mouth. Goodluck"

"This is weird. Can it really be true? What kind of game is it anyway? I should try it. No, the capsule ciulb be a poison. So what, I have nothing to live for anyway. It doesn't hurt after all, it's probably one of those expensive VR games

Making the decision, Chen turned on the console, put on the glass, unwrapped the capsule's wrapper and put it in his mouth. 

Nothing happened for like thirty seconds but then Chen felt a stinging sensation in his eyes, he quickly shut them but it didn't help. Instead of darkness, all he could see was light, light blinding so much that they hurt his eyes

"Ahh" Chen screamed since the pain didn't go away. Then he felt a falling sensation, he tried opening his eyes to see what's happening but that only increase the pain he felt. 

Suddenly, the fall came to a stop and the blinding light slowly dissipated. When the light was all gone, Chen squinted his eyes just be safe but what he saw shocked him.
