Yamamoto and Ōetsu Nimaiya would never have imagined that Aaron would outright refuse.
Hearing these words, Ōetsu sighed helplessly and said, "Kid, you're really testing my patience here.
Well… forget it.
A genius like you truly defies common sense."
Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni gazed at Aaron silently for a long moment. Finally, he shook his head slightly and said, "If you have no desire to join a squad, then you'll head to the Great Spirit Archive.
Someone will escort you there shortly.
Go now."
After speaking, Yamamoto exhaled deeply, turned his back, and fell into silence.
Not long after, Chōjirō Sasakibe entered the room. He bowed respectfully beside Yamamoto, listened intently for a moment, and then departed, leading Aaron away.
Ōetsu glanced at Yamamoto's somber expression and remarked, "Yamamoto, this isn't quite the outcome we had envisioned."
Yamamoto replied in a grave tone, "My old friend, do you recall when Central 46 disbanded the 'Hueco Mundo Death Squad' four centuries ago?"
Ōetsu, usually nonchalant, grew serious at the mention and murmured, "How could I forget?
If not for him, the sole survivor, that disastrous system might still exist.
It's an unfair legacy for someone who endured it alone."
Yamamoto took a sip from his tea, his demeanor heavy. "Perhaps you were right.
At the time, I should have fought against all opposition to protect him.
If I had, he might not have turned out this way.
Surely you've noticed—his current strength rivals mine.
From the moment he entered Seireitei, I intended to groom him as a pillar, akin to us.
But now… it's all too late."
Ōetsu, moved by Yamamoto's rare display of emotion, sighed. "I can't imagine what he endured during those five centuries in Hueco Mundo.
Well, forget it—I'll go pay a visit to the Monk."
Outside Yamamoto's office, Aaron followed Chōjirō Sasakibe through the First Division barracks.
On their way to the Great Spirit Archive, Aaron unexpectedly caught sight of Kuchiki Ginrei hurrying past. Ginrei, noticing the pair, offered an awkward smile before quickly disappearing from view.
Half an hour later, Chōjirō led Aaron to a sprawling complex filled with hundreds of pristine white towers, each branching in orderly formations.
After finalizing the procedures, Chōjirō turned to Aaron and said, "Everything is arranged. I'll take my leave now."
Watching Chōjirō's retreating figure, Aaron inspected the identification card and fresh Shihakushō he had been issued, then headed toward his designated quarters.
As he walked, a young Shinigami, flanked by several followers and clad in noble attire, approached him.
"Stop!" the young noble barked.
Seeing that Aaron ignored him, the noble stepped forward, his entourage blocking the path.
"Didn't you hear me? I told you to stop!" The young Shinigami's voice was filled with irritation as his subordinates chimed in.
"Big Brother, how dare he ignore you!"
"Look at that strange armor—he must be up to something!"
"Hah! He's probably some vagabond who wandered in from Rukongai!"
"Don't let him get away—seize him!"
Despite the commotion, Aaron continued without a glance, until the noble's entourage surrounded him again, their leader sneering.
"Do you know who I am?" he demanded. "You dare act so insolently? Judging by your shabby appearance, you're clearly no one of importance."
One of his lackeys puffed up with pride, pointing dramatically at their leader. "This is our eldest brother—Tsunayashiro Tokinada! A young master of the illustrious Tsunayashiro Clan, one of the Five Noble Houses!"
Another subordinate added eagerly, "Do you know his grandfather? Tsunayashiro Yadai, the longest-serving Judge in Central 46! One-third of the council seats are held by his clan. You'd best apologize, or you'll face consequences you can't imagine!"
Hearing their proclamations, Aaron paused. He glanced coldly at the group as the words "Central 46" and "Tsunayashiro" crossed his mind.
After a moment's thought, a frigid smile spread across his face.
"Central 46? The Tsunayashiro Clan? The Five Noble Houses?" he murmured mockingly.
The group mistook his tone for curiosity and grinned in triumph.
But before they could react, Aaron released a crushing wave of Reiatsu, slamming them to the ground. The oppressive force rendered them immobile, their faces filled with terror.
"This is Pure Tagurin," one managed to gasp. "Central 46's sacred grounds in the Great Spirit Archive!"
Tsunayashiro Tokinada stammered, trying to muster defiance, but before he could utter another threat, a flash of steel swept past.
Scarlet splattered across the white stone as Tokinada's lifeless body crumpled.
The remaining subordinates screamed in disbelief before meeting the same fate, their lives extinguished in an instant.
A distant guard, witnessing the bloody spectacle, fled in panic, rushing into the chambers of Central 46 to sound the alarm.
