Chapter 16 - The Apocalypse Starts (2)

Petunia was still watching the live broadcast, already two consecutive pieces of information had been presented on the news and one of the scientists had appeared on television to make a statement.

Petunia, who had even ended the telephone conversation, felt that people did not fully understand the gravity of the situation.

Scientists had officially said that it was impossible for this virus not to spread.

They also said that the vaccines they would give would reduce the virus to a level that could destroy it. This meant that no vaccine could destroy the virus directly, it was only possible to weaken it.

The fact that there was a serious possibility that Light's story was true was the thing that intimidated Petunia the most.

After all, according to her little brother, after just one month the government would collapse mutations would begin, and after six months the world would turn into a veritable apocalypse lair. Indeed, every single possibility was incredibly frightening.

She had just picked up her phone and was about to call someone else when the scientist on the television suddenly started talking:

"Our third and final news item will be one involving the supernatural. With the appearance of the red sun, climate change will occur in a very deep way. According to our calculations, almost -70 degrees Celsius may cover not only the UK but the whole world at the same time. This is very close to the coldest moment in history, -89.2 degrees Celsius in Antarctica in 1983. Please stock up on food, please stock up on drink and please stock up on anything that can warm you."

These were clearly warning speeches. It was clear from these speeches alone that the government had withdrawn support from the people.

It was not mentioned that there was a schedule of assistance for the danger. It was not said that food or water would be provided, and most importantly, it was not said that blankets and the like would be provided.

In short, the British government was telling its people to "Live if you can, die if you can't".

After reading this, Petunia called someone else and let the news flow by itself, as if she didn't care about anything.

She had nothing to care about, she was incredibly safe in her current home and hoped that she would continue to be so. In short, as long as he could get the sale sorted out, there would be no problem.

Time would show everything.

-----

"Let's go, brother."

It had been almost 5 days since the last newsletter and Petunia had been informed that all the money had taken almost 60 warehouses of space. Neither Light nor Petunia had anything to do with the companies anymore. In short, the two siblings had left their family and ancestral heritage in order to live.

Now they were going to go to Powys city centre to get the money. The fact that they had a journey of almost 25 minutes did not scare the two. After all, who knows, maybe there might be a few undiscovered zombies in Powys.

After all, Light had only told his sister about zombies in the news, so he didn't have any early news of zombies outside London. In any case, this meant that there might have been one or two zombies around the area where he was currently in the house.

With that, the two got into the car in front of the house and set off. It had been almost 5 days since it had started snowing and the snow had already accumulated quite heavily. In this case, it was almost 6 centimetres of snow.

Nevertheless, the halting snow did not completely freeze life, which made everything better, because it made it possible to go to collect the money.

"Isn't that where your man's warehouses are waiting?" Petunia suddenly asked this question and Light answered her "Yes, sister."

Light had told his sister last night that his man would be waiting in the warehouse from the morning to the evening of the next day and tried to hide his skill as much as possible.

Even though he knew that Petunia would not faint from shock, Light still wanted to give her the best show possible.

"Sixty warehouses full of cash...that's a lot even for me, and, strangely, they said they would bring some money home because the warehouses were full."

"Normal, we're talking £5 billion out of the £2 billion we've spent, there's no way you could fit such a huge amount into six medium-sized warehouses." When Light gave this answer to his sister, Petunia nodded her head as if she understood.

Petunia said that some of the cash should be transferred to cards, and she used this money to buy as much alcohol as she could find.

Light had told her to buy as much alcohol as she wanted and that there were places where she could stock up. Petunia did not understand what her brother meant at the time.

Nevertheless, Petunia had chosen her first choice, a brand of alcohol that cost $6.2 million a bottle, and she had not stopped until she had exhausted her stocks and moved on to other expensive bottles of alcohol.

One of the main reasons why she chose these bottles of alcohol was that each bottle had a small or large amount of diamonds or diamond fragments attached to it. In short, although they were running at a loss, these bottles could be used as a life-saving fund in case they ran out of money.

Still, the question in Petunia's mind was where to hide all this alcohol. After all, Light had shown her the whole house and there was no storage room, big or small, in or near the house, so Petunia really couldn't think of an answer.

Petunia could not even guess that the answers to these questions would be answered after only 20 minutes. It would not be long before she realised that she had been born into a very, very strange world.
