Chereads / Reawakening the Lycan god / Chapter 20 - This doesn’t make sense

Chapter 20 - This doesn’t make sense

Selene's resolve shattered as the howl pierced the night, vibrating deep within her chest. Without fully realizing what she was doing, she found herself moving toward the front door. Her mind screamed at her to stop, but her body felt like it was no longer under her control.

Her hand trembled as she unlocked the door. The cold metal felt like fire against her skin, but she didn't hesitate. Slowly, she pulled the door open.

There he stood.

Lykos's massive black wolf form was illuminated by the blood moon's eerie glow. His fur shimmered like onyx, his chest rising and falling with labored breaths. But what sent a chill through her was his eyes—they were no longer their usual molten gold. They were pure black, like endless voids, and they locked onto her.

The wolf stepped forward, crossing the threshold with slow movements. As it entered her home, its form began to shift. Cracking sounds filled the air as his fur receded, his muscles contorted, and his body morphed back into his human form.

As if on seeing him the heat between her legs worsened. A pool of wetness was beginning to form.

Lykos now stood before her, completely bare, his chest heaving. His dark hair was disheveled, and his skin glistened with sweat. But his eyes…. those black, feral eyes remained.

This wasn't the Lykos she knew.

"Lykos?" she whispered, her voice trembling.

He didn't respond. Instead, he took a step closer, his movements predatory, like a beast stalking its prey.

Selene backed away instinctively, her heart pounding in her chest. "Lykos, it's me… Selene," she said, her voice shaky but trying to break through whatever held him.

Still, he didn't speak. His gaze raked over her, dark and unyielding, filled with a primal hunger that sent a shiver down her spine.

"Lykos, please," she pleaded. "You said you wouldn't hurt me."

His head tilted slightly, as if her words had reached some part of him, but then a low growl rumbled from his chest. It wasn't human—it was pure wolf.

"Your scent," he rasped, as if his wolf and human sides were colliding. "I can't… resist…. I can't resist your scent. I can smell the wetness between your legs."

Selene's back hit the wall, and she realized she had nowhere left to go. Lykos closed the distance between them, his body mere inches from hers. She could feel the heat radiating off him, matching the heat going through her body.

His hand reached out, brushing against her cheek, and she flinched at the contact. His touch was surprisingly gentle giving the situation she found herself in.

"I warned you Selene. And I tried to stay away," he murmured, "But the bond… it's too strong. You're mine, Selene."

"No," she whispered, shaking her head, her breath coming in quick, shallow gasps. "Not like this. You're not yourself."

He leaned in, his nose grazing her neck as he inhaled deeply. The heat of his breath sent a shiver racing down her spine, she was feeling things she wasn't supposed to feel. The sensation went through her body and rested between her legs and tingled her pussy. His presence was overwhelming, powerful, raw, primal, and completely unlike the Lykos she knew.

"You don't understand," he growled, his voice deep and gravelly, "The blood moon… it's calling me to you. The bond… it demands to be fulfilled."

"Lykos," Selene said, her voice trembling. She pressed her palms against his chest, trying to put some space between them, though what she was feeling was a contrast of her actions. She knew damn well that she wanted him. "You have to fight it. This isn't you."

He groaned, his body trembling under her touch as though her very presence was a torment to him. "I've been fighting it for so long," he said through clenched teeth. "But tonight, I can't. My wolf… it's in control now. And it wants you."

And as he positioned his teeth on her neck, Kael burst into the apartment. His eyes locked onto Lykos, who growled low, now shielding Selene as if Kael was a threat to her.

Without hesitation, Kael lunged at Lykos, slamming into him and pushing him back. The room erupted into chaos as the two men grappled, each fighting for dominance.

Then, in an instant, they shifted. Lykos's towering figure transformed into a massive black wolf, his eyes an abyssal black that radiated primal energy. Kael shifted into his wolf form, smaller but still formidable, sleek, dark brown creature with lighter brown streaks rippling through his fur.

The clash of wolves was thunderous. They collided with a force that shook the walls, snarls and growls tearing through the air as they fought. Lykos's sheer size and strength gave him an edge, but Kael's speed and precision evened the battle. Fangs snapped, claws scraped, and Selene could only watch in terrified awe.

Seizing the opportunity, Selene retreated into her room, slamming the door shut and locking it. Her chest heaved as she pressed her back against the door, the sounds of the fight reverberating through the apartment.

Minutes stretched into what felt like hours. Finally, the snarling subsided, replaced by a heavy thud and the sound of her front door slamming shut.

Her breath caught as she heard heavy footsteps approaching her bedroom door.

"Selene, it's Kael," his voice called out, strained but controlled.

Hesitating only for a moment, she unlocked the door and pulled it open. Kael stood there, his human form restored, his clothes torn and blood smeared across his face and arms. Though battered, his face burned with frustration and concern.

"Why did you open the door for him?" he demanded, his voice sharp with anger. "What if he didn't come to me to be on the watch incase he can't control himself. He could've marked you forcefully!"

Selene's guilt hit her like a wave, tears stinging her eyes. "I couldn't help it," she admitted, her voice trembling. "I couldn't control myself, Kael. I… needed him. My body needed him in ways I can't explain."

Kael's eyes narrowed, his confusion clear. "What do you mean?"

"It's like this heat," she said, wrapping her arms around herself. "It's running through me, consuming me. It's unbearable."

Kael's gaze darkened as realization struck him. "That's not possible," he muttered. "You're not a werewolf. You shouldn't be feeling this."

He stepped closer, his green eyes searching hers for answers. Then his expression shifted, alarm flashing across his face. "The bond," he murmured. "It's the bond trying to push the two of you to complete the marking."

Selene shook her head, panic and confusion rising in her chest. "I don't understand," she said.

Kael ran a hand through his disheveled hair, frustration etched into his features. "This doesn't make sense," he said, almost to himself. "You're human. You shouldn't be affected by the bond like this.…"

"Go take a cold shower, I'd brew you a tea that would relief the symptoms." Kael said walking out of the room.

As he walked out she went to her room window and peaked out of it a bit. She saw Lykos' wolf pacing in front of her window. He noticed her watching him, so he walked closer to the window and instead of growling or howling, he let out soft purrs.

She forced herself to close the window and walked to the bathroom. Filled the tub with cold water, flowers and bath bombs. Cause she knew she would be in there for a while so why not make it as comfy as possible.

She sunk into the tub and sighed. It instantly relieved the heat but not completely. As she sat in the tub trying to think of anything but Lykos, Kael knocked the bathroom door.

She submerged herself more in the water before shouting for him to enter.

He dropped the tea on the sink and said "Drink this immediately" and he began walking out of the bathroom.

As soon as he shut the door, she drank the tea and instantly felt better. She stayed in the cold water for a while until she felt like she was okay.

As she was about to come out Kael knocked her bathroom door.

"Are you okay Selene? You've been in there for a while." He said.

"Yes I am. I'd be out in a minute!" She quickly drained the tub and dressed up.

As she walked out, Kael nodded and went to the living room understanding that she was ready to sleep.

She got into bed and the days event played in her head drifting her off to sleep.
