The cold wind blew swiftly across the room, bringing Anna into reality and a world with many Impossibilities.
'Mom' she called out as she reached for her face to take off her sleeping mask.
Anyone would also wonder why a young girl in her teenage age had to call out to her mother as early as after she woke from her slumber.
She could just get up and walk to the bathroom for a refreshing bath, but... She wasn't that privileged.
May stood by the door, staring at her daughter as tears trickled down her cheek.
Many years had passed since the faithful incident, but their lives never remained the same, at least it won't until her daughter got her eyesight back.
If only she had gotten there in time, maybe her daughter won't have had to deal with the stigma all her life.
'When you are done brooding, you should remember that you have me here, and I am waiting for you' Anna said with a smile.
Realizing that she had sunk into deep thought, May retraced her steps back to reality and walked silently over to Anna.
'You really need to talk to your dad, Ann, he is never willing to have peace reign between the Woods and the Roberts.' May complained to her attentive daughter as she helped her off the bed.
'What do I say to him, mum, we both know how Dad is, he won't...
'Annabel, we need to move as fast as possible, the doctor has called that there is no need for further delay. Anna can get her eyesight back!' Daniel said with a lot of enthusiasm.
May couldn't help but feel Invigorated by Daniel's words.
If her daughter could get her eyesight back, then she would be the most happiest woman in earth.
HOPE HOSPITAL.
'I am really glad to see y'all after a long time, this is really good' Doctor Daniels, who walked up to the family with a smile, said with a sense of humour.
'Nice to meet you too, Mr Daniels' May said as she directed Anna's hands towards the Doctor.
Politely refusing, Doctor Daniels guided the family towards his office.
'Some tests has to be done to be assured that we can have more positive possibilities than negative' he said as he unlocked the door to his office.
'She will be fine, right? You know that I have been waiting for this day for a long time, I don't want disappointments at the end' Daniels' Daniel said.
'Be rest assured Mr Woods, it is going to be a successful surgery. You know what, I think, you should have a word with the chief surgeon, he is the one in charge of the surgery, I made sure I got the best we could afford' Daniels said with a smile.
'That's a good idea'
Three days later.
She woke up with a blindfold that seemed to be really heavy.
She could hear footsteps but her hearing wasn't as effective as it used to be and she couldn't help but have doubts about the whole surgery.
'Is she awake, Doc.?' Anna recognized her mom's voice and she felt the urge to talk to her, but to her surprise she could move a limb, it was like she had been induced!
'She should be awake by now, but, she won't be able to talk or move, the sedative helps the eyes to recover more quickly.
'So, how long is this gonna last?' May asked
'Summer holidays ends in two days, she should have recovered before the resumption, she has slow recovery, so she is going to have to stay here for the remaining two days for close observation' Doc. Daniels explained exhaustively.
'Thanks Doc., I am really happy to know that the surgery was successful.' May said as she let out an unintentional joyous scream.
'Was she happy?' Anna thought. She was spending her remaining two days of her long holiday at the hospital and her mother was screaming? She understood the fact that she had just gotten her eyes back, but she wasn't ready to acknowledge the fact that she had a very slow recovery, which was going to keep her tied in the hospital.
She suddenly felt like she had a lot to do.
She was still wallowing in self pity when she heard her dad's voice and his footsteps approaching.
