Chapter 7 - Bait

As Elena walked home from a friend's house, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being watched. She had been noticing strange things lately, like people following her or lurking in the shadows. She had tried to brush it off as paranoia, but the feeling persisted.

As she turned the corner onto her street, she saw a group of men standing outside her apartment building. They were tall and imposing, with menacing looks on their faces. Elena's heart skipped a beat as she realized that they were not just random strangers.

One of the men stepped forward, his eyes locked onto hers. "Elena Rossi," he said, his voice low and menacing. "We've been looking for you."

Elena tried to stay calm, but her mind was racing. Who were these men, and what did they want with her? She knew that she had to get away from them, but her feet seemed rooted to the spot.

The man took a step closer, his eyes glinting with malice. "You're a hard woman to find," he said. "But we finally tracked you down."

Elena's heart was racing now, and she knew she had to think fast. She tried to remember the self-defense classes she had taken, but her mind was a blank.

Suddenly, the man reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling her towards him. Elena tried to struggle, but he was too strong. She was dragged away from her apartment building, down a dark alleyway.

As they walked, Elena realized that she was in grave danger. She didn't know who these men were or what they wanted with her, but she knew that she had to get away.

The man pulled her into a deserted warehouse, the only sound the creaking of the old building. Elena's heart was racing now, and she knew she had to think fast.

"Who are you?" she demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.

The man smiled, his eyes glinting with malice. "We're the ones who are going to make the Morettis pay," he said. "And you're the key to our plan."

Elena's mind was racing now. What did they mean? How was she the key to their plan?

The man leaned in close, his breath hot on her ear. "You see, Elena, you're a valuable asset to the Morettis. And we're going to use you to get to them."

Elena's heart sank as she realized the truth. She was in danger, not just because of the Morettis, but because of their rivals. The men who had taken her were part of a rival family, one that had been seeking revenge against the Morettis for years.

As the man's words hung in the air, Elena knew that she was in a desperate situation. She had to think fast, or she would be used as a pawn in a deadly game of revenge.

With a surge of adrenaline, Elena made a split-second decision. She would not go down without a fight. She would use every trick in the book to escape, to outsmart her captors and make it back to the Morettis.

But as she looked around the deserted warehouse, Elena realized that she was in a precarious situation. She was alone, with no phone and no way to defend herself. The men who had taken her were ruthless, and they would stop at nothing to get what they wanted.

Elena's heart was racing now, and she knew that she had to think fast. She had to use every ounce of cunning and intelligence to outwit her captors and escape. But as she looked into the eyes of the man who had taken her, Elena knew that she was in grave danger. She was a pawn in a deadly game, and she had to play it smart if she wanted to survive.
