The morning sun warmly illuminated Beijing, creating a bright atmosphere for the second day of the Championship China tournament. The audience began to fill the main stadium, eagerly watching the eight best coaches in the country battle it out to reach the semifinals. Cheers and trumpet sounds echoed in the air, creating an atmosphere full of enthusiasm.
The trainers who have successfully advanced to the quarter-finals have proven their greatness, and each match this time promises spectacular action with stunning strategies. The highlight of the day was the big match between the Eastern Champion and the Southern Elite Four, as well as the exciting battle between the Northern Champion and the Western Elite Four.
At the farm, Yang Chen, Reba, and Xiaoyi sat back and relaxed in front of the large screen set up in their farmyard. Dragonite, Gardevoir, and several other Pokémon were resting nearby, enjoying the morning atmosphere while watching the match.
"This morning is very bright," said Reba while pouring hot tea. "The tournament is sure to get even more exciting."
Xiaoyi, who was sitting on Yang Chen's lap, stared at the screen with enthusiasm. "Dad, is there an exciting match today?" she asked, her eyes sparkling.
Yang Chen smiled, stroking his daughter's head. "Yes," he said. "The match between the Eastern Champion and the Southern Elite Four will be very exciting." They are both known to have Pokémon with extraordinary power.
Dragonite nodded as if in agreement, while Gardevoir looked serious, its eyes fixed on the screen. Behind the smile and calm demeanor, Yang Chen remained vigilant. His ability to hear distant conversations is active at all times, monitoring the stadium to ensure there are no threats from Team Galaxy that could disrupt this tournament.
First Match: East Champion vs South Elite Four
In the stadium, cheers erupted as the East Champion, a young man with neatly styled black hair named Zhao Feng, entered the arena. In front of him stood the Elite Four of the South, an elegant woman named Li Mei, known for her brilliant battle strategies.
The match began with Zhao Feng sending out Tyranitar, while Li Mei chose Aegislash. Both Pokémon immediately engaged in an intense duel. Tyranitar utilized its physical strength to attack with Stone Edge, but Aegislash swiftly switched to defense mode, using King's Shield to block the attack.
Li Mei then seized the moment to counterattack with a Sacred Sword, striking Tyranitar right at its weak point. However, Zhao Feng did not give up easily. He executed a surprising strategy, commanding Tyranitar to use Dragon Dance, boosting its speed and attack power before launching a Crunch that cornered Aegislash.
"Their strategies are very balanced," said Reba while watching the battle. "Li Mei is very defensive, but Zhao Feng knows how to break through her defenses."
The battle ended with Zhao Feng's victory after Tyranitar managed to defeat Aegislash with an Earthquake that shattered the arena. The audience erupted in cheers, paying tribute to both trainers for the epic match.
Second Match: Northern Champion vs Western Elite Four
The next match pitted the Northern Champion, a burly man named Wang Wei, against the Western Elite Four, a young girl named Lin Xi who was famous for her Fairy-type Pokémon.
Wang Wei opened the match by sending out Metagross, while Lin Xi sent out Sylveon. The contrast in their fighting styles was evident from the start—Metagross attacked brutally using Meteor Mash, while Sylveon utilized distance with Moonblast and Wish to maintain defense.
"Wang Wei is very aggressive," commented Xiaoyi while munching on a snack. "But Lin Xi is really smart!" Sylveon knows when to hold back.
The battle was intense, with Metagross showing its resilience despite being bombarded by Fairy attacks. However, Lin Xi demonstrated her cleverness by strategizing to exploit Metagross's weaknesses. When Wang Wei commanded Zen Headbutt, Lin Xi immediately instructed Sylveon to use Protect, forcing Metagross to lose momentum before finishing it off with Hyper Beam.
This battle ended with Lin Xi's victory, advancing the Western Elite Four to the semifinals.
Amid all the festivities, Yang Chen still couldn't fully enjoy the tournament. Although the match went smoothly, his intuition told him that the threat from Team Galaxy still lingered in the air.
"Is everything okay at the stadium?" Reba asked, noticing her husband's serious expression.
Yang Chen nodded slowly. "For now, yes. But we can't let our guard down. They might be waiting for the right moment."
Night fell with a silence enveloping Yang Chen's farm. Although the tournament went smoothly, he knew that this tranquility might be only temporary. "Tomorrow will be tougher," he murmured, gazing at the starry night sky.
Reba approached him, holding his hand tightly. "Whatever happens, we will face it together," she said softly.
Yang Chen looked at his wife and smiled. "Yes, we will face it together. For now, let's enjoy this evening."
However, in his heart, Yang Chen remained vigilant. The threat from Team Galaxy may not be visible yet, but he knows that they will not remain idle forever.
