Chapter 92 - Battle for Moriarch (Part 5)

" Aatu! "

You shout excitedly as you pull The Holy Omniverse Transcript back out of your robes. Aatu looks at you peculiarly as he answers.

" Yes, Abbadon? "

" This book… Can it erase memories? "

You ask with a determined glare as you hold the book tightly in your grasp. Aatu immediately understands that you have some sort of plan in mind and he answers you earnestly.

" Yes, it can. I'm sure you can recall what my Father told you the moment he gave it to you… "

The One's voice echoes in your mind as you remember what you were told when you received the book.

"

" He said that I can manipulate every being of existence, so that must include their memories… "

You say as you step forward, opening the book and sending a shockwave of power throughout the tower. Your eyes go black once more and time slows for every other being around you except for Aatu, and he steps forward to ask you a question.

" Abbadon, what are you doing? "

Aatu asks as you focus your energy on using the book.

" I'm erasing the knowledge of the Omniverse and The None from everyone's memories. "

You say as you begin to peer into the minds of every single surviving Morian who's still fighting in the kingdom. You can see all of their memories simultaneously as if their thoughts are arranged into an array of tangled knots, and you begin removing the strands that contain any knowledge or information regarding the Omniverse or the enemies that they're fighting.

" You're going to permanently change them, Abbadon. If they don't remember why they're fighting, we lose our army. "

" I can protect them! I'll use the book to make sure that no harm comes to them as we take out the remaining Valghuli and the opposing army! "

" Abbadon, the more you use the book, the more it will strain you! You need to save your strength! You may be able to protect the people of this kingdom with the book, but if you do so, it won't matter in the end because you might not be able to win your fight against The None! "

" I'll take a maybe over a guaranteed loss of these good people, Aatu! I failed to keep my promise to my daughter, telling her that I'd save her no matter what! I'm not going to fail to save these people too! "

You shout to him as you finish erasing the rest of the knowledge of the Omniverse from the people of Moriarch, but the moment you finish this mass erasure of memories, you're startled by the same loud explosion that you once heard when The One first presented himself to you in The Light. Your vision turns into a blinding white and your senses are overwhelmed as the book immediately begins to show you a series of visions.

First you see The One as you saw him in The Light, then you see Uphedis in Tom's body with a smug stare and blood all over his face, then you see galaxies and nebulae colliding with each other and exploding, then you see Uphedis choking Izael with one hand as he holds him out in front of him, then you see a single rose in a beautiful field, then you see Reylesh's corpse ripped in half at her stomach floating through space, then you see Mimi bawling her eyes out in Faerah's arms, then you see Aatu on his knees with his throat slit and blood staining his white suit, then yourself in space with The Holy Omniverse Transcript impaling your body in several places with glowing white tendrils coming from the pages before the book closes itself and locks. Your perception instantly returns to normal and you immediately drop to your knees with a blank stare, completely mindbent from what you just saw. You look down at the book in your hands, trying to process what you just saw, then Mimi immediately runs up to check on you and Aatu puts his hand on your shoulder, both of them asking you a question.

" What's wrong Star Faller? "

" Abbadon? Are you alright? "

You remain silent as you stare down at the book in your hand with fear before looking back up and responding.

" This book… I saw this book killing me… "

Aatu looks at you silently with a hesitant glare before the people of Moriarch all stop their fighting, confused with how they got to where they are. Aatu immediately diverts his attention to the survivors and walks away to the edge of the tower, using his power to teleport the remaining people of the kingdom inside the castle to keep them alive before the enemy forces can kill them. It's not long before the cultists and Valghuli begin closing in on the castle and attempting to get inside.

" Midnight approaches and I intended on persevering my power for the coming fight, but if you deem it a necessary expenditure of my power to save these people, then I will use it to defeat the opposing army and the remaining Valghuli. "

Aatu says coldly as he stares out at the massive army that stretches over the horizon and has overtaken the kingdom. He holds up his hand and it begins to glow white, humming and radiating with an incredible raw power that's so intense that it sends shivers down your spine.

" Now… Perish, you poor corrupted souls. "

Aatu remarks with sympathy. You begin to see a bright green color mix with the glowing white and you witness the fabric of space and time begin to cave in on itself around his hand, but before he can get his attack off, he's interrupted by Mimi who asks a question while she's sitting next to you and holding you.

" What's that? "

Mimi says as she looks up into the sky, pointing up with her finger. You look up where she's pointing to see bright blue rays of light begin to shine down onto the kingdom from above.

Aatu looks up at the radiant blue rays of light as well and lowers his hand before answering Mimi's question with relief.

" That's… my brother. "

Immediately as Aatu says that, an unfathomable grand army of hundreds of millions of angels all emerge out of the blinding light, flying down into the kingdom like a swarm of speeding bullets to engage the cultists and the surrounding vehicles that have overtaken it. The angels pour down from the heavens like a divine flood of righteousness, wearing holy blue armor with wings that brilliantly glow in a holy aura as they tear all of the cruisers in the airspace to shreds and begin to purge the kingdom of culists while simultaneously doing their best to distract the Valghuli. The remaining Tarragons focus their attention on the angels, retaliating by shooting a multitude of them out of the sky with their antimatter cannons before you see hundreds of giant golden chains burst out of the ground, shooting into the sky and coming back down, wrapping around the Tarragons and pulling them into the ground to restrain them. Then, almost immediately, you see several colossal dragons the size of mountains swoop down from the sky and land in the middle of enemy forces out in the distance, crushing them and tearing their forces apart as they spin and slide for several miles, breathing a golden fire that melts and eviscerates the cultists and vehicles that surround them. Then you notice millions of the same golden cultists that you once saw in Ishville climb out of the ground where the golden chains are emerging and assist the angels, engaging the red robed cultists and ganging up on the Valghuli with the angels to keep them occupied.

" YEAH!! FUCK'EM UP BIG BROS!! "

Reylesh cheers with a bright smile as she jumps in the air with excitement. Aatu turns back around and approaches you again, getting down on one knee to speak to you.

" The book… I need to know exactly what it showed you. "

You remain mindbroken, struggling to regain your composure as you answer him.

" You were dead… So was Reylesh… I saw the book impaling me, and Mimi crying in Faerah's arms… "

Aatu takes on a grim expression as he puts his hand on your shoulder to comfort you.

" Abbadon, listen to me… Even Noeh in his omniscience couldn't possibly predict what's to come of this fight with an outerversal being like The None. That's why it's imperative that we do not falter in this coming confrontation. Based on what you just told me, it appears that there is more to the book than my Father has led you to believe, and on this night, the book may very well intend to show you its true purpose. "

Aatu softly puts his hand on your cheek and looks you in the eyes with a desperation that you've never seen on him before.

" Abbadon, remain strong. Right now, the fate of all of existence is in your hands. There are no decisions more important than your decisions tonight. Your choices will dictate whether my Father's creation lives or dies… and I have faith in you that you'll choose the best outcome. "
