Chapter 55 - B is for Business

Tom walks into the living room and stops at the window as he gazes at the beautiful neon skyline. He calls out to Amy as everyone else wanders around the penthouse in order to get familiar with the space.

" Amy? May I ask something of you? "

Amy then urgently walks up to Tom and bows her head, responding respectfully.

" Yes, of course, Master Guest. Ask me for anything and I'll make sure that you're pleased. "

Tom turns his head towards her as he talks to her.

" I need you to find a woman within the city. "

" Yes, of course, Master Guest. What woman would you like? As a VIP Guest here at The Monument, any type of woman in the city will be yours. Please tell me more about the woman that you desire. "

Tom shakes his head as he responds patiently.

" No, Amy. I just need you to find someone in particular and tell me where she is. We simply need to know where to find her. "

Amy then gets down and kneels apologetically, replying in a remorseful tone.

" Yes, of course, Master Guest. My apologies for misinterpreting what you said. I'd like to inform you that if you're ever unhappy with me or my service here, you may punish me in any way that you see fit. My life is yours to take if you wish, and I will obey your every command. "

" That won't be necessary. "

Tom says as he holds up The Holy Omniverse Transcript in his glowing green hand.

" If you touch this book, you'll know exactly who I'm looking for. "

" Yes, of course, Master Guest. "

Amy says as she gently places her hand on its cover. Amy's body then contracts from the energy flowing through it and her eyes glow green for a moment before she removes her hand from the book and almost falls to the floor. She takes a deep breath to recollect herself and stands up before bowing once more, speaking to Tom.

" We will locate this woman and inform you of her location as soon as possible. "

" Thank you, Amy. "

Tom says before she turns around, walks past you, and exits through the elevator. You look around the penthouse and see that Roary and Mimi have already made all of the rooms opaque using the buttons in each room that Amy told you about. Roary and Mimi then emerge from the hallway and Tom walks up to you and motions his head towards the elevator as he speaks to you.

" Alright, Donny. Let's go. We don't have any time to waste. "

You nod your head as you both approach the elevator and Gareth follows behind you. After Tom calls the elevator, he turns around and talks to Roary and Mimi.

" You guys help yourself to whatever you want here but don't go too crazy with your requests. The stewards here will get you any food or item that you guys want, but it's important to remember that they're people as well. Treat them with respect and have some humility when you interact with them. That mainly goes for you, Roary. I know you disagree with their lifestyle and beliefs, but please show them compassion while you stay here. "

Roary's face goes red with embarrassment as he makes a rebuttal.

" Hey!! What kind of person do you think I am!? Yeah, I dislike the people that live here but I also gotta reflect a good image on Moriarch with my behavior. You shouldn't have anything to worry about. "

Tom nods his head before the elevator opens and the three of you step in. Once the elevator closes and starts its descent, Gareth asks a question while he's standing behind the both of you.

" So where's our first destination? The Devil's Den, I presume? "

" Yeah. "

Tom says with a focused stare as he's looking at the elevator door. Once the elevator door opens, you see Amy standing right outside the doorway to the lobby with a tablet in her hand. She smiles and bows, presenting the tablet to Tom as she speaks to him.

" We've found the woman that you're looking for, Master Guest. Normally we would uplink her live coordinates to your neutral interface, but since you don't have any enhancements, you can see her exact location in real time using this tablet. "

Tom then grabs the tablet and hands it to you as he responds.

" That was fast. How'd you find her so quickly? "

Amy looks at Tom with soft eyes as she answers him.

" We have a cloaked surveillance system everywhere around the city so we can monitor all 13 billion of the city's inhabitants. We did run into a slight dilemma fulfilling your request, though."

" What's the matter? "

Tom says in a concerned tone.

" We also found that this woman has no records of birth here in Voldoor and no immigration records coming from Moriarch. We've identified her as an outlier within our borders and the High Temple Guard has been sent to investigate her. "

Amy says in an inauspicious manner.

" Tell them to hold off. She's one of the reasons why we're here. We'll deal with her. "

Amy then nods her head, responding before quickly walking off.

" Yes, of course, Master Guest. I'll put in the order for them to cease their investigation immediately. "

Tom then looks at you with a serious stare and tilts his head down as he talks to you telepathically.

" Wanna guess who they found? "

You look at Tom in disbelief as you answer him telepathically.

" Ariel. "

Tom nods before speaking to you out loud.

" Go on, Donny. The tablet should lead you directly to her. I'll hold on to the book in the meantime while Gareth and I go on ahead and investigate The Devil's Den. I'll establish a psychic link between the both of us and I'll be here telepathically if you need me. "

Tom then immediately walks off with Gareth and you look down at the tablet to see how far away Ariel is from you. As you inspect the tablet, you can see that it says she's 37 blocks away on the rooftop of a skyscraper. The tablet recommends taking a cruiser, as it's the fastest way to her location, so you walk up to the opulent front desk of the lobby and ask a steward for assistance.

" Hey… uhm… Can I get a cruiser to bring me to the location shown here on this tablet? "

You hand her the tablet and she takes it from you with a smile before pressing several holographic buttons on her desk and responding.

" Of course, Master Guest! Which class of cruiser would you like to take? "

You sit there dumbfounded and she obviously sees that you're struggling, so she lists the cruiser classes for you.

" Would you like an A-Class cruiser, a B-Class cruiser, or a C-Class cruiser? "

With your own assumptions about what the classes mean, you answer her politely.

" I'll take an A-Class cruiser, please. "

" Yes, of course, Master Guest. I'll have an A-Class cruiser come and pick you up right outside. If you have any further requests for our staff, please tell the pilot before you exit the cruiser. Thank you for choosing The Monument, and as always, Praise Vol."

The steward says as she hands you back the tablet with a smile. You walk outside and another luxurious cruiser comes down and lands in front of you. The doors open automatically and you can see that this cruiser only has a couple of seats inside of it, unlike the one that Gareth had that distorted space in order to create more room for an entire living area. You notice a beautiful woman wearing a skin-tight black dress sitting in one of the seats, gently patting the seat in front of her for you to sit in, so you climb up into the cruiser and sit across from her. The doors shut and the cruiser slowly takes off while an older gentleman talks to you from the pilot seat on the other side of a glass pane.

" We got the coordinates already set. Please enjoy yourself in the meantime while we reach your destination. Thank you for cruising A-Class. "

The glass pane then immediately turns into an opaque black and the lights in the back seat of the cruiser dim. You look at the woman in front of you and she asks you a question in a seductive tone.

" Have you ever rode A-Class before, baby? "

You look at her nervously as you answer.

" Uhm… No, I haven't. I'm not from here. I'm visiting for business reasons. "

" Oh? "

The woman says as she gets up from her seat, moves closer to you and puts her hand gently on your stomach. You can smell her perfume and feel her steamy breath on your face as she continues to talk to you seductively, slowly rubbing her hand down your stomach to your belt.

" I can tell. I'll make sure this is a ride that you'll never forget, baby. "

You then gently push her away from you and talk to her in a respectful manner.

" I'm sorry, but I just want to be taken to my destination. I appreciate the notion, though. "

She then immediately looks at you with a rude glare and talks to you like you're an idiot.

" The hell!? Then why did you request an A-Class?? "

You look at her with a confused face and she goes on to elaborate further.

" Ummm… hello? The A in A-Class stands for Adult Class? B is for Business Class and C is for Civilian Class? Do I need to spell it out for you more!? "

Your face immediately goes red as you put your head down and respond.

" Oh… I thought that A, B, and C were the quality of the cruisers… "

The rudeness of her face immediately washes away and she starts laughing uncontrollably as she sits back in her seat. You look out the window in embarrassment as she changes her tone.

" You really are an outsider, huh? Well that's okay, I suppose it was a simple mistake… "

She then unexpectedly mounts your lap and gives you a wet kiss on the cheek before whispering in your ear.

" That's too bad… pure boys like you are my favorite. "

You shuffle in your seat uncomfortably and rub the lipstick off of your cheek as she giggles and scoots back to her side of the cruiser. The driver then makes the window to his seat transparent again and talks to you in a reassuring tone.

" Don't worry, kiddo. She's clean everywhere except in the head! You won't catch anything by being intimate with the gals here in Voldoor because our people bioengineered vaccines to prevent any consequences for their various activities! "

Geez… Seems Roary was absolutely right about the people who live here.
