As you and Tom sit in the room together waiting for Faerah to return, you get lost in your thoughts as you try your best to remember who you were.
Why did The One erase my memory? Could I have seen or heard something that I wasn't supposed to? Could I have been a bigger threat to The Holy Omniverse? You focus extremely hard on recalling your past, but it's to no avail. Your memories are gone.
You sigh in disappointment and sink down into your chair. Tom notices this and opens his mouth to speak, but right as he does so, Mimi comes running into the room and jumps on you with joy. She wraps her arms around your neck as she giggles.
" STAR FALLER!! "
Mimi exclaims as she hugs you and props herself down onto her feet in front of you as you sit up in the chair.
" I'm so happy to see you again! It was awful scary when Izael and Nahzgor were about to fight and I was afraid that you were gonna get hurt really bad. When I went back to the library kingdom with Noeh, he showed me all sorts of cool books! There was a book about every person in the universe and when I asked him for yours, he said that he didn't have one. Then I asked him for mine and he let me read it all the way up to when I got Faerah's blessing and it was so cool! The book about me knew everything I ever did! Every thought and feeling I ever felt was in the book too and I was kinda embarrassed but it was super cool to see a book that was all about me! Then when Izael and Nahzgor showed up, Nahzgor took Noeh away to a room to talk about something and Izael said that you were okay and that you went to go check on Mama! He said you guys got the book and I was super excited to come see you and Mama again! Where's Mama at anyways? Did you already cure her curse? "
You put your hand gently on Mimi's shoulder and look at her with a look of sorrow. You try your best to muster up the words to tell her the truth about what happened to her mother, but you know that you're unable to speak to her calmly so you remain silent as you take a deep breath. Then you inadvertently look towards the bed that Veronica was laid upon, and Mimi catches your glance and looks towards the bed as well. However, to your surprise, Veronica's body is gone. Mimi then asks you a question as she stares at the bed with you.
" Um… Star Faller? Why're you looking at the bed? Is that where Mama was when you cured her? "
Your mind begins to race in panic as you look at the empty bed.
Where did she go? Her body was right there. You saw it. She was dead. Faerah even said so. How are you gonna break this to Mimi now that her mother's body is gone?
Mimi's eyes begin to tear up as she speaks to you again as if she's fearing the worst.
" Star Faller… "
You sit there in silent contemplation with Mimi standing in front of you anticipating an answer. How do you give this child an answer that will soften the blow of what you need to tell her? Suddenly Izael and Faerah walk into the doorframe and Faerah breaks the silence as she looks at you and Mimi.
" Sorry for taking a bit longer to follow you up the stairs, little one. There's someone here that's been waiting to see you for a long time. "
Faerah then looks over at the empty bed and everyone's gaze in the room follows. Then, to your utmost surprise, you see Veronica slowly materialize on the bed out of thin air. She looks so much more beautiful than she was before, but you can tell that it's her. As you look her up and down, you can't believe your eyes. While Veronica sits on the bed with her legs crossed wearing a pink dress, the very first thing she does is look at Mimi and speak to her in the most loving tone you've ever heard.
" There's my little girl… "
" MAMA!! "
Mimi yells as she runs up and hugs her mother. You can hear Mimi cry as she buries her face in Veronica's chest in Veronica's embrace. Veronica then looks down at Mimi and runs her fingers through Mimi's hair as she speaks to her softly.
" I missed you so much… When I came home… and you weren't there… "
You can tell by the look on Veronica's face that she's overcome with emotion as she holds her daughter again. You can't imagine how she could've felt when she came home that night to be chained up and cursed like she was. When she was beaten and hanging, she probably thought she wasn't ever going to see Mimi again. You begin to tear up as well as you watch her hold her baby girl. You can tell from this sight that the amount of love that this mother has for her daughter is truly something special.
" I missed you too, Mama… "
Mimi says as she continues to sob and hug her mother tightly.
" How? "
You say as you look at Veronica in amazement.
" How are you alive? "
" She's not… "
Tom says as he stands up out of his chair and walks over to you. Tom puts his hand on your shoulder and looks you in the eyes. You can tell by the look on his face that he's insinuating exactly what you think he is. Veronica is dead and she's passed on to the afterlife, that afterlife being Faerah's realm of Havnahm. She'll reside here for eternity, living in a beautiful paradise as a reward for how loving and compassionate she was throughout her life. But that also means that Mimi is going to have to leave her here if she's to go back to a mortal realm with you and Tom.
Mimi pulls her head away from her mother and looks at you and Tom as she asks a question.
" What do you mean? Mama's right here. You cured her, right? "
Faerah then walks over to the bed and takes a seat next to Veronica. She looks down at Mimi with compassionate eyes as she tells Mimi the truth.
" Star Faller did everything in his power to try and cure your mother. Until he arrived here, he always put saving your mother first. There was nothing he or any of the gods of this universe could've done. Your mother passed peacefully when I lost my older brother earlier tonight. Unlike the fate of my brother, your mother will live on eternally in my realm in her afterlife. I know it's very sad to hear, but I'm glad that I was able to ensure that you could see her again. "
" Mama… is that true? "
Mimi says as she looks up at Veronica with teary eyes.
" Yes, baby… "
Veronica replies in a soft tone.
" But you can come and visit me anytime you'd like. "
" I don't wanna leave you again… "
Mimi says in a painful tone as she hugs her mother again. Veronica rubs Mimi's head softly as she speaks to her daughter.
" But you need to… You still have your whole life ahead of you. You can't stay here with me because you're gonna grow up to be someone great one day. I want you to go with the Star Faller and help him in every way that you can. It's thanks to him that you got to meet all of these gods and you're here to see me in the first place. He needs you. "
Mimi then glances over at you with teary eyes and you can tell that she's overwhelmed with emotion. You speak to her with a kind smile, assuring her that her mother's judgment is correct.
" It's true. We're gonna need you if we're gonna save the universe. "
You then elbow Tom's leg in an attempt to get him to chime in. Tom looks down at you surprised and quickly averts his glance to Mimi as he backs you up.
" Yeah, your mama's right. You want to make sure Star Faller's safe throughout the adventure ahead, right? "
Mimi wipes the tears from her face and smiles softly at her mother. Veronica then speaks to her as she stares lovingly at her.
" It may be too late to save me, but it's not too late to save Star Faller. I want you to watch over him and make sure he's okay no matter what, alright? I know he'll take good care of you. "
Mimi nods her head in agreement with her mother before she hops up and sits up on the bed between Faerah and Veronica. Veronica hugs Mimi close to her and Mimi rests her head on Veronica's shoulder as her mother loves on her.
Tom then speaks up in a serious voice as he walks towards the door.
" Alright then. We need to go back to Aria and prepare for the oncoming cataclysm. The Valghul will be limited to only physical abilities in mortal realms, so we'll be safer there. Faerah, Izael, you must refrain from taking mortal forms from this moment forward. The Valghul will likely try to lure you into a physical form by doing horrible things. Don't fall for it. "
" Understood. "
Izael says as he looks at Tom with a serious face. Tom then looks back at you and Mimi and makes a remark before heading downstairs.
" I'll give you a moment to say your goodbyes. I'll meet you out front. "
As Tom heads downstairs, you get up from your chair and walk over to Faerah and Mimi.
" Thank you. "
You say to Faerah with a compassionate look.
" Mimi really needed this. I'm going to do my best to make sure this universe survives so your realm can be somewhere that Mimi can always come back to when she needs it. "
" No mortal. "
Faerah responds.
" Thank you, for loving and looking out for this little girl and her mother when they needed it most. "
Mimi then gets up and gives her mother one last hug and a kiss.
" I love you, Mama. "
" I love you too, baby… "
Veronica says before Mimi grabs your hand and walks downstairs with you. You open the door to see Tom sitting on the front porch steps admiring the beauty of Faerah's realm. Then he notices you, gets up, and opens a green portal in the middle of the path for you guys to walk through.
" I already have a place in Aria where we should be safe. Are you guys ready to see the kingdom of Moriarch? "
Mimi's eyes light up with wonder as Tom says this and she responds in an excited tone.
" We're going to Moriarch!? That's where the princess lives!! "
You and Tom both look down at Mimi with a smile as she jumps with excitement. You have no clue where you're going, but it makes you happy seeing Mimi excited and joyful again. Tom then looks at you and nods his head before the 3 of you step inside the portal. Moriarch awaits, and your adventure has only just begun.
