Chapter 6 - Sword dance

Glaring at the bleeding Angran in front of him once more, Archie glanced behind him to see that the first human he had shot, had already healed fully, the heavy bullet of the gun fallen besides his head, it looked like he was still trying to process what had happened after his apparent 'revival'.

Looking to his right, the Angran he had stabbed in head looked like he would stay 'dead' for some more time and peering behind him, the Taurian was trying to remove the Rotted Human from his horn all the while glaring at Archie.

It seemed that the Taurian was really enraged at being used to 'kill' his friend.

Taking in all the sight for a second, Archie thought,'The leader looking guy is about to join in, but the bull bastard can be used due to his anger and the human girl doesn't look she'll join in for some time but can't be too sure once the leader guy starts ordering them...'

Blocking a full body tackle of the Angran rat in front of him, bought him back from his brooding and slashing once more to keep the foe away, he jumped and rolled away to the fallen Angran who was about to heal.

Glancing at the fallen body below his feet, he stared at his approaching sibling with a taunting grin and asked in a deliberate loud voice,"You are his brother, aren't you? you won't like if I stab him once again would you?"

It seemed like the taunt worked for a second, but the Angran seemed to remember that they were immortal and continued charging, seeing that Archie stabbed the fallen Angran below him with both hands and used the sword lodged in him like a handle throwing the body to the running Angran.

It looked like blood ran deeper than mere revenge, and the charging Angran stopped to catch his brother body , but Archie using that as an advantage stabbed through both the brothers with his longsword, making them unable to fight for some time.

Getting a chance to breath again, he saw that the Taurian had finally freed himself from the rotted stuck in his horn, and was starting to get out from the fountain, glaring at Archie with bloodlust.

Archie seeing that, turned his head and started walking towards the leader who had also gotten up and was ordering the remaining human who was standing alone doing nothing.

Taking a deep breath, he grabbed his sword by both hands, it's stance low and started running at the duo, the leader seeing that craftily moved the girl in front of him and stepped to the right.

The blade pierced through the heart of the Human girl and she threw out some blood from her mouth, the blood smelt metallic and looked darker in its appearance than it was supposed to be.

The leader taking advantage of the moment, moved forward and pushed the handle back towards Archie's face, hitting it right on the nose.

Slightly faltering,Archie grabbed the handle tightly and dragged it to the right towards the leader's face, the blade which was still stuck in the human girl's body cut out from the chest and left a harrowing cut on the leader's right arm, making it unable to be used for some time.

Yet just at that moment, the Taurian bellowed out from behind and started charging up again.

Archie hearing that, wiped the blood from his nose and looked at the leader with a distressing smile and started walking towards him.

'What I am about to do next will probably damage me more than them, but it'll leave me more time to breathe for some moments....'thinking that to himself, Archie held up his sword as if to attack the leader with a downward slash.

Just before he could attack, the leader held up his only arm to defend himself, seeing no other way because the other arm was taking too long to heal, and asked Archie,"Why are you attacking us anyway? We don't even know each other and we both know all this bloodshed will not have any use, we'll keep living while you'll keep losing your stamina leaving yourself open without anyway to guard yourself, in the end we'll be the sure victors."

The words were surely spoken with conviction because in some cases it definitely would be true, yet Archie didn't respond and slashed purposefully at his only usable hand, leaving him unable to defend himself.

Grabbing the leader by his shoulder, Archie moved him in front of himself, looked behind him to see the charging Taurian and put the leader in between himself and the Taurian.

He was safe from being skewered for now, but the force from the charge was enough to throw him back quite a bit and the Taurian seeing that ran over Archie with the leader still skewered.

Being under the foot of the heavy Taurian felt like being hit by an iron ball but it wasn't as deadly as being skewered.

Staying on the ground for some seconds, he collected his breath and looked behind him to see that the Taurian was trying to remove the skewered leader from his horn with a pathetic expression.

It looked to Archie that the night was going to be long with dodging every move with a hair's breath was a necessary requirement otherwise he wouldn't last long.

He also had to be careful not to get backstabbed if the vanishing man does actually think about coming to kill Archie. Keeping his guard up all the while battling 6 undeads and not bleeding too much was really a new challenge for him but he wasn't discouraged.

He just had to think of this fight as if it was a marathon against time.

The final decision will be depending on who will fall first, either the Rotted will lose themselves or Archie will lose his life.

Indeed, it had turned into a Sword dance during the fight, performing moves with a rhythm and not falling backward or forward, it was a dance with his life hanging from it, but he had to give it his all.

Quickly getting on his feet, He saw that the Angran twins had healed and were getting back on their feet, the human who had fallen in the fountain was also standing up with fury in his eyes, whereas the Human female was also staggering to her feet.

Assessing the situation, it seemed like the Human male under the fountain and the Taurian were closest to going Hollow as their emotional and mental state was the worst out of everyone.

So focusing on targetting the Human male while using the Taurian as a way to keeping other Rotted down, Archie started hunting him first.

Whenever Archie could get a chance and saw that particular Rotted already down, he'd attack him once or twice with his blade and try to dodge once again as fast as he could to run away from the Taurian and others.

Several times he'd almost get pierced by the sharp horns of the Taurian rotted but he'd either deflect using the sword or jump back decreasing the damage.

His main purpose was to decrease the bleeding as much as possible or keeping it superficial and conserve his stamina, keeping the movement to the minimum.

He'd also slash at the other Rotting ones too whenever he got the chance but all in all the one who suffered the most was the Human and one of the Angran decayed.

The Human was the target because of his mental state but the Angran was getting the sword because of the grudge he had kept from getting rocks thrown at his face.

As time passed, the movement of several of them slowly became rigid as if they couldn't understand how to keep their own body in control or as if there was something weighing down on them.

That was tremendously helpful for Archie to catch his breath mid-fight as sometimes they'd stop in one place and started vigorously clawing and scratching at their own faces as if they were rabid insane beasts.

Wiping the sweat and blood mixed on his face along with all the dirt, Archie sheathed the battered sword and took out the rope-dart hanging from his pants.

That used much more stamina as a lot of movement was required yet it looked like some of the Rotted were also on the verge of going hollow, and he had to remove one or two from the fight eitherway.

Moving his hands to make the rope revolve around him,it started moving faster and faster, the heavy dart hanging on it caused the momentum to increase and the speed of revolution further increasing.

Stretching his hand and moving it forward, the heavy dart moved ahead with impressive speed as per it's beautiful design, hitting the head of the Rotted so hard, it caved in along with the skull.

Pulling it back, the Dart came out and the rotted also fell down along with the blood.

Yet it appeared wrong to call the fellow, Rotting one now, he wasn't Rotting but more like he had already Decayed, no semblance of sanity remaining in his similarly clouded, putrid eyes.

His appearance had also changed a lot from his previous young Human-like to now his skin was shriveled, necrotizing, the hair on his body had all but fallen off, and a nauseating smell coming from his body.

Nodding his head, he looked at the fallen man for a bit and then glanced at all the other semi-decaying rotting ones for a bit and fixing his eyes at the leader.

Opening his mouth, he spoke,"Well, that looks like one down, 5 more to go."
