Hello, everyone. I'm Keto Tetsuya, a normal high schooler who is starting my high school life today. I don't have any high hopes for a high school experience filled with girls, clubs, and animanga-like stories; those are just delusional fiction created to satisfy the audience.
I woke up at 7 a.m., took a bath, had breakfast, and said goodbye to my mom and dad. I hopped on my bicycle and started riding towards my school, which is 10 km away from my house. The morning hustle of the city feels different; I greeted some acquaintances, the ones I knew personally, as I enjoyed my ride.
After reaching the school, I parked my bicycle in the parking area and headed to the main block, where all the freshmen were gathering. There were a lot of students enrolling at this school, which is called Kyoto Toyota Academy, one of the most renowned schools in Kyoto. Half of the seats are purchased, while the other half are designated for scholarship students. I am also a scholarship student.
On the notice board, students' names were listed by their respective classes. I found my name in section 2; there are about ten sections in each academic year. After locating my class, I went to the auditorium and took a seat for the opening ceremony, which lasted an hour. The director, principal, and student council president delivered speeches about the rules and regulations and the keys to success in life.
Once the opening ceremony concluded, everyone returned to their respective classes. I, too, had no difficulty finding my class, as I followed a girl who was in the same class as me. I had heard her talking in the main block, which helped me confirm her class affiliation. After reaching the classroom, I looked for a suitable seat and settled into a middle window seat that looked perfect.
I quietly observed as everyone entered and chose their friends and seats. After a while, a girl walked into the room and came straight to the seat beside mine. She looked like she would rank A+ in both looks and beauty based on my personal grading system for women, which I developed according to their appearance and character.
Another guy sat in front of me. After some time, he turned around and said, "Hi." I replied with a "Hello," and we started exchanging words, talking about our hometowns and previous schools. However, he didn't quite match my vibe. While I would consider him okay as a friend, I had no intention of getting close.
Soon after, another girl sat beside him, and he began chatting with her. I caught a few glances at my female neighbour and thought about starting a conversation with her. So, I said, "Hi, I'm Keto Tetsuya." She looked at me and replied, "Hello, my name is Isuno Sumoski."
