Chapter 7 - Seasoned Warrior

The Alpha laughed after hearing those words, and the others joined in as they knew they had no choice but to find the natural words of Mikhail funny as well.

"Wow, is that what you think? Do you believe that a girl will be able to conquer an Alpha like me? When was the last time you saw me battle? The forests in which I destroy Vampires are ones you can't even dare to walk in. I admire your bravery, but you will have to go with my council's choice as I'm not disturbed by her in any way. Now sit," the Alpha said.

Mikhail sat and bit his lips in anger. For some reason, his older brother was choosing to humiliate him and if he began facing that at the meeting, he might have to start avoiding the meeting from now on.

However, Mikhail could sense that the members were not happy that he was taking the girl lightly, and he also noticed that his father was not satisfied that he had chosen to spare the girl in the meantime.

This series of events gave him an idea. Mikhail decided that he would singlehandedly try and bring the threat to a halt

Mikhail decided that he would go after the girl on his own and without the permission of anyone or knowledge of anyone, as the clan would once again praise him.

It was something that he wished to do as he knew that the Alpha didn't like it when he was praised as he was supposed to be nothing compared to him.

After a few minutes, the meeting ended. The Alpha said he looked forward to hearing his opinion at the next meeting, which meant he would no longer be able to avoid coming to the meeting even if he wished to, as he had been commanded. If he disobeyed, it would mean punishment.

They all left, and Mikhail went home. After a few minutes, his best friends came to knock on the door, and Mikhail quickly let them in as he was happy to see them.

The trio sat on the sofa in the enormous room of Mikhail. The room was luxurious as the family of the Alphas were considered to be royalty and lived as such.

"So, how did it go, man?" Tony asked.

Mikhail sighed as he thought of the best way to respond. The answer was simple: he had not enjoyed the meeting and never wished to return. Mikhail wanted to tell them the truth, but it wasn't so simple as he knew they looked up to him.

They all wished he also let them join the council when he had enough power, but he wasn't sure he could do so without getting even stronger, which bothered him.

Now, he was unsure how they would act if they saw that the one thing that made him cooler than them was not worth wanting.

Although the truth was good, and Mikhail never liked keeping things from them, he had to know as his image was at stake here

"Well, the thing is that it's very boring, so I can't talk about it much. The only thing they speak of is war, and they are terrified of losing their lives. It's funny to be there watching those men who would still show you up if necessary fear because of a rumor," Mikhail said.

"Well, you know it's because two of our Alphas were killed as a result of the pure blood in the vampire so many years ago, so that's what is making them act that way," Simon said.

It was true that the last two had killed the Alpha of their time, but they had been stopped as the werewolves had more numbers and far stronger men.

"Alright, what do you wish to do about it?" Tony asked.

"That is a very good question. I have a nice plan. I'm cooking. If I go to the vampire land, I can kill the girl before she becomes strong, and then the clan will praise me again," Mikhail said.

"Wow, that's smart. It's always nice to see the clan praise you, and we recognize you as closer to you, so the girls begin to straighten their hair whenever they see us," Simon said.

"Fool, the only thing you think about is women. What if something happens? I don't think you should go; you might not survive it, and I'm not willing to lose you," Tony said.

"It's dangerous, but you know I can survive it," Mikhail replied confidently.

"Yes, against soldiers like you, but have you thought about what you will do if the girl has already awakened her power by the time you get there or if she does so while you are about to give her the finishing blow?" Tony asked

Mikhail thought for a bit; it was not something he had considered as he felt the only problem was probably her father and the guards, which he was confident he would defeat easily.

However, he now had a new problem as he had to think about her powers, too. The girl might also be trained in combat, and if she were strong enough to escape his attack, then he would lose his life and everything.

"No, I am still going. I don't think she will awaken her powers, and even if she did so, then I would know what is next to do eventually, as I'm sure that I possess great intuition," Mikhail said, praising himself again.

"While that is true, you have to be careful. Imagine your escape with a broken arm or leg; the humiliation would be too much to bear," Paul said.

"I know, and I've thought of it. I would rather kill myself than fail to do my bidding and then return as a man who sent himself to be destroyed, and my father would always feel I am a terrible son," Mikhail said.

"What about the Alpha? Do you feel that he could defeat the girl if he fought her alone at full strength?" Tony asked, startling Mikhail.

It was the same thing that his brother had talked about, and it seemed that he was followed by his presence even in his room.

Mikhail laughed, wondering what kind of life he was living and what friends he had chosen to surround himself with.

They were equally powerful like him, but they were not to be considered as his equals by any means. They were strong, too, but they could never hope to consider themselves his equal.

Together, they'd conquered a lot of foes, and most of the time, all Mikhail's victories were usually supported by their efforts, too.

Mikhail smiled as he remembered his last victory against a legendary vampire who had once faced his father.

The vampire was named Barristan, and he had been one of the most dangerous vampires of his father's time.

But he had a problem; he felt that he was stronger than any werewolf alone, and because of this, he decided to try and finish off Mikhail's Dad.

Mikhail's father had been surprised that he wanted to challenge him alone. He had even felt intimidated, but he had faced him nonetheless.

The Alpha was far more powerful than he was, and Mikhail's father ended the battle quickly with his power.

However, being a seasoned warrior, he escaped, only to meet his son a few years later.

This time, he could not escape him as he was not facing one that was merciful or carefree. Mikhail was looking to gain some respect, and he took it by taking his life.

"Why were you smiling just now?" Simon asked.

Mikhail laughed again and winked at him. Mikhail laughed again, and his friends also laughed with him this time.

The other guy asked him the same question, but he was also not ready to answer the question as he was not willing.

Mikhail knew that the best way to get attention from his friends was to surprise them with something interesting, but he didn't.

He decided the way to go was to keep them guessing. Mikhail told his friends not to worry, but they frowned at him, knowing what he was up to.

"Alright, keep it to yourself," Simon said.

"Come on, guys, it's not everything that goes on in my mind that you should know about. Some things might be funny in my head that you will not understand," Mikhail said, trying to be tricky.

The guys were still unconvinced, and Mikhail refused to tell them but continued being evasive.
