My name is Adrian, an Indonesian college student. I never expected today to be the day that would change my life forever.
"Hey Adrian, let's hit the internet cafe again tomorrow," my friend said.
"Yeah, sure, let's go," I replied wearily. Another exhausting day, I thought. How long would this cycle continue?
At the red light, I witnessed a horrifying scene. A child was sprinting across the street, ignoring the blazing red light. A black sedan sped recklessly, colliding with other vehicles. The child froze, paralyzed with fear, as the sedan hurtled toward them.
"Watch out!" I screamed. Without thinking, my body sprang into action to save the child.
(Third-Person Perspective)
Onlookers yelled, warning the child to move, but they remained frozen. Suddenly, someone pushed them aside. The child turned to see a college student taking their place. The student was flung across the pavement, hit by the sedan.
(Adrian's Perspective)
My mind raced: Save the child! I pushed them to safety, feeling temporary relief. But the sedan loomed closer. (Oh no, this is the end. Mom, Dad, forgive me for not coming home tonight. I love you both.) Then, a deafening crash – the sedan slammed into me, sending me flying 100 meters.
