Chapter 38 - CAPE MAY

Although the Cartwrights and Andersons, had their lives fulfilled, away from Cape May, they could not help but feel the feeling of loneliness, remembering Cape May and everything that lived there; either, good times or bad times.

Both families, feeling that enormous emptiness of loneliness, decided to return to Cape May and face the evil that had taken them away from there; so, they made the decision to return to their city and let it happen, whatever has to happen.

When the Andersons arrived at their old house, they could see that everything was as they had left it, with the exception that it is cleaner, because the former employees came to clean the house all the time.

The moment they returned home, they were rehired, along with their respective relatives. Nathaniel, took advantage of the fact that everyone was busy with their things and went to the beach, where he met his first and great love.

All that day, he walked the beach, reliving what he lived with her and how in love he was with her.

He was remembering his kisses, the warmth of his skin, his smile, his mouth, his loving gaze, the promises they made on the beach, his first kiss and his first time, how he enjoyed his childhood and adolescence with her.

Also, she remembered the first heart she drew in the sand, with arrows and a cupid above the heart, how warm she felt next to her and that in that world they built, there was no evil; far from it, selfishness, or betrayals.

As I ran across the beach, I saw those two children, also running across the beach, holding hands, smiling and seeing through each other's gaze, how in love they were.

The poems that they both were born to do, thanks to that immense love they had, were the sweetest love poems, followed by sweet kisses on the mouth.

Nathaniel, could not take any more with the immense pain he felt and began to cry uncontrollably. He couldn't believe, all that he had lost when they took him away from the only woman he truly loved.

He was like this, sitting on the sand, with his legs clasped and crying uncontrollably, when his dad found him and as soon as Cody saw his son, he just sat next to him and hugged him tightly.

"Daddy, I should never have left Cape May without my love. My life has become a real hell, since I walked away from it. None of this would have happened, if we were still together and no matter how long it's been, I still love her," Nathaniel finally said.

"Son, you are right in everything; especially when you say that we should never have left Cape May, because I agree with you too," Cody said, hugging his son.

"Come on son, I invite you to dinner and to drown our sorrows," his father told him again.

"Where would you take me Daddy?" Nathaniel asked.

"We are going to have dinner at that hotel restaurant, where you mom and I, we did not meet for the first time and we met exactly how you and your wife met, but that was completely forgotten by your mom," Cody told him, while He was heading with his son to the restaurant.

When they got to the restaurant, the waitress had brought them to a table, which had an excellent view, not only of the sea; but also, a good part of Cape May.

While they were having dinner, father and son had their first adult conversation and felt that they were more united than before.

When they were about to leave, they meet Caroline, Cody's ex-wife.

The three of them did not know what to say, after several years of absence, from her; so, they greeted each other and left, without saying a word.

Arriving at the house, Nathaniel and Cody told their family about their meeting with Caroline that it was cold, because they had nothing to say to each other.

While that was happening in the Anderson house, the Cartwrights arrived at their first house, which was not the house that the killers had burned; rather, the first home they had when they first arrived in Cape May.

The house was rustic, what is the base is made of rock and cement, the house itself was also made of rock and cement and inside of wood and bamboo and the most important thing is that the house is very ecological, it has two floors and everything is well distributed.

The house had six bedrooms, with their bathrooms included, and each room had an excellent view of the sea. On the other hand, he had enough land, if they wanted to build something or just plant.

Even though they were back in Cape May and in one of the houses that belonged to them, Sookie was feeling her heart constrict until she felt like she couldn't breathe.

On the one hand, he missed his family and on the other hand, it is because he is not with the love of his life, because he left, without explaining him.

The whole place reminded him of all those magical moments that he had lived with him; especially, the house where he would begin to live with his family, because it is where they spent the best moments of their lives.

Sookie asked permission, to be able to go out and take a walk on the beach and her family, she knew perfectly well the reason why she wanted to do it and they allowed her to leave.

While she was walking along the beach, seeing both the sand and the sea, he began to remember all the magical moments that he lived with him, the promises of eternal love, the serenades, the beautiful love poems, the picnics, the first kiss that took place. They hit the beach, all the times they went into the sea and told each other how much they loved each other and the first time of the two.

All those perfect moments that the two of them spent on the beach were the most important in her life and remembering it hurt her in the depths of her heart and soul and she couldn't take it anymore and she sat down to cry inconsolably.

As she cried, she knew that those magical moments would never come back and that she had to settle for just remembering them. "Why did he do this to me? Am I worth nothing to him? "she said to himself while crying.

Sookie, she no longer wanted to continue suffering for love and she wanted to find a way, to stop feeling everything she was feeling. Sookie felt totally hurt and humiliated by her first love, who wished she didn't love him the way she loves him.

At that time, she wanted to go to the bottom of the sea and die by drowning and when she was about to do so, her family arrived and managed to stop her.

"Please, my little one, don't hurt yourself like this anymore. What can we do to make you stop feeling what you are feeling?" asked her dad.

"Just hold me tight daddy and never let go," Sookie told him.

And that's exactly what Jeremy did. He picked up Sookie and put her on his lap and held her tightly, as she cried incessantly.

Her uncles, who were with her at that moment, also hugged them and they all stayed like that, for a good time; until, Sookie stopped crying.

After that, they decided to take a car ride, all over Cape May, away from the sea and the beach and taking her to other places that she did not know existed.
