After every single action a reaction is expected, a man's life isn't dictated by anything else other than probability, choices and their circumstances, in other words luck.
Luck can be changed however and there are an unknown amount of possibilities even including the improbable ones. You are given a starting point that you can't determine or affect whatsoever but you have the ability to make the drastic choices to get results.
No man is truly ever forced to do anything.
He is influenced by his desire.
Jester knew what came next and he was prepared to deal with it.
' for once I can't do anything if I'm interrupted'
All three beasts had been taken out.
The cost however, that was a different story.
The lose of lives wasn't that big a deal. It was the moral of those still standing that would require work.
Jester was finding it hard to put on his mask right now.
It was already morning so he had to do it soon.
With an incredible amount of effort he smiled, it took time also but he held it.
With a smile on his face he was strolling towards a bunch of victims who were armed and he was the president who orchestrated it.
Cly was awake. He couldn't sleep.
To him anyone who could sleep was either really dumb or completely stupid.
Besides him was Nahashka.
She had slept for a bit but not long.
Right now she was carving out her second stake.
Cly wanted to ask about them but was afraid he'd get a bit too much of a descriptive answer as a result.
The pair had gone in search of the walking grenade after discovering that tentacles was dead but by the time they had successfully searched everywhere and still hadn't found it they'd given up, hoping someone else had already killed it.
Since late last night cly has been trying to think of a way to go about his questioning the instructors. To him they had to offer some sort of explanation for the mass deaths that had occurred.
At some point he looked at the girl beside him and asked
" So what are you going to do when the instructors come?"
She had stopped sharpening her spike and looked at him with a bored but slightly annoyed face.
" Why would I have something to ask them? The only thing I want to do when I see em is to arm the rioters with these spikes"
Cly sighed
" She is very simple minded somehow and it's odd considering how aggressive she looks"
Cly himself didn't know what to ask them.
' I guess this was why people were given the choice to leave'
He shrugged.
' I'll still need to understand why they played with our lives like that. I mean they didn't even give us weapons!'
At about 7 in the morning all the shades were gathered in front of the classes.
The big house and River sides where both too wrecked to use for the meeting point.
Jester couldn't wait any longer.
He had to do this quickly.
" Good morning everyone. I know you might have opinions you want to vent out so that is why I'm here, to make you understand that your opinions are meaningless. If you want to cry now that someone is dead that would be pointless. You all knew what you signed up for.
So right now I'm supposed to tell you where you went wrong and how you could have handled that drill better but because I'm a good instructor I'll prefer you analysed it yourselves while I correct you"
Immediately he was done talking he noticed something odd.
In each and everyone of the shades eyes there was a kind of nonchalance within as if they weren't bothered that their friends had died just yesterday.
Someone stretched out their arm from the crowd and was given permission by jester to speak.
" Urmm so sir I think our slow reaction time contributed immensely to the deaths"
Jester was still smiling but he was shocked.
In all his years on this island and with all the sets of shades he'd encountered this was the first one that no one wasn't crying or venting out some misguided principles about morality.
" Yes you're right but first I need to understand something. How is it that you are all composed as if nothing has happened?"
He wasn't really bothered but he was curious.
The previous person replied.
" Well we all originally were pissed and weren't really in the right headspace but Nathan talked to us now most of us are reluctant to voice any ridiculous things. Although those who can't take it are in the dorms"
Jester was now curious to know who this Nathan was and what he'd done.
' it's not everytime you see someone, a single person can control his pairs like that'
" So you'd evade a summons just because you felt like it? That's ballsy but I don't really mind either way, now if that's settled I'd like to hear how each of the beasts were eliminated"
Kris was not here and neither was Nathan so Reagan did the explaining for the tentacles.
Cly really didn't want to do he asked Nahashka to do it.
But before he could tell her to exclude his part she had already gone on in details explaining what had happened.
' sigh. I'm going to be the butt of Nathan's jokes till forever. Wait I just... Damnit'
Cly was pre occupied with his own pun and comforting himself by saying it was necessary so he didn't even know when Nahashka was done.
After she finished jester waited a bit then asked about the third beast.
Everyone just stared at each other no one knowing who had killed it.
Some people even started to tense up thinking it was still alive.
Then someone in the crowd belched and raised their hands.
" Ooh I'm sorry you seemed to be taking a while so I went for breakfast and came back. So yeah I'm the one that killed the doggy thing. It wasn't that hard though."
Poncho was being looked at from all angles but he didn't care. He plopped down on the ground and waited for someone to speak.
Jester couldn't help but laugh.
" That's very disappointing, to think you all went to rest without confirming that the job was finished"
He doubled over
" I mean what would have happened if that fatso hadn't killed it. That was the most mobile one amongst the beasts I released, it could have blasted all of you in your rooms and you'd be dead right now filled with holes."
He was trying to control himself but he couldn't he just continued laughing.
Everyone else was starting to realise what he'd meant.
They really had been careless.
At some point jester stopped laughing then asked
" I'm curious though, how did you do it?"
