In a half destroyed city.
Where it was so quite one would believe that the apocalypse happened.
Two figures can be seen thanks to the bright blue thy are wearing.
Suddenly one of the two figures spoke
"In this world of monsters and heroes. a world where these two sides are at constant fight over the earth... I don't belong to the heroes side"
These are the thoughts of a certain teenage girl. One who wears a typical school uniform that would leave them indistinguishable from any other student, were it not for the brown tail wrapped around her waist like a belt.
Sitting on the roof of her high school and looking mournfully at the settings sun, there is an air of melancholy about her, as if the weight of the entire world is pressing down on her. Her clothes a little roughed up but she doesn't seem to be injured.
"What the hell are you talking about, without you that blast guy would probably be dead. You beat that stupid overgrown centipede's ass!"
Said a really short guy, over excitedly. He was also wearing a highschool uniform but his was in perfect shape.
"… Tell me Krillin! Tell me what the difference between me and that centipede was?! The difference between me and these monsters"
She said angerly, slamming the side of her fist into the ground, cracking it and shaking the building, as if resonating with her intense emotions. While placing her other hand on her chest, in a futile attempt at calming her breathing, and herself.
"What is the difference between them and me? I'm not human either!"
She exclaimed, unwrapping the tail from her waist as if to prove a point.
"I'm some alien freak on a planet that I crash landed on, with my own species probably fully extinct at this point! I'm worse than the so-called monsters, I'm a damn parasite!!!"
She said with conviction, her voice raspy, looking sharply at her friend, who stood confused and bewildered by what she had just said. But, after a second, he composed himself and seemed to have made a decision.
"No you aren't! You saved city Z! I-It might be a little destroyed… But you saved most of it!"
He said with an unsure smile, trying to brighten her mood. But then his voice was full of conviction as he said;
"You are a hero, Sela!"
At that, they both went quiet, a shadow covering Sela's eyes. But then, suddenly, she brought her legs up into the fetal position and wrapped her arms around her legs, as she somberly said;
"A hero wouldn't have fallen to their own instincts and let people die for their excitement..."
At this her friend is confused and worried but before he can say or ask anything she continue to talk
"I could have ended that, with my super sayain, if I would have just used Kaioken from the start. I would have ended the fight easily but instead I..."
She goes quiet, burying her face into her knees, not wanting to think about her mistakes, wishing for her brain to stop. Wishing for it to go quit as well, but her thoughts couldn't be louder and she wanted it to stop. Her own brain kept playing images of that woman. Thoughts about her, about not even knowing her name. How that human with no power and no special strength saved more lives than me. Thoughts about that reporter, of how she could have changed her approach, how she could have tackled the situation differently. These thoughts clouded her mind.
Thoughts she wanted to stop.
She just wanted them to stop.
And she would do anything for them to stop.
Even if... no.
More so she wanted an excuse.
A final push.
It's what she wanted.
A permanent stop.
...
*Thud*
Suddenly she heard a noise beside her. She looked for the source of it for a second and she saw her friend Krillin. He smiled at her, a confidence she couldn't understand brimming out from him, as he said;
"How about this? Tell me your story. Tell me everything, and I'll just listen. Then, at the end I'll tell you EXACTLY why you belong here on this planet!"
She looked at him bewildered, she didn't understand it.
His confidence, where does it come from?
A human without the ability to use ki like some.
He isn't physically strong and he isn't very smart either.
The image of the reporter flashed in her mind.
Even her... Humanity, what drives them? What gives them this confidence?
She doesn't know if it was out of trust for her friend, or desperation to distract herself from her thought but she started talking.
All from the very start.
All the way back to 18 years ago when she was born on the other side of the universe.
About her home.
"I come from a prideful race that named their hole planet after their king and prince... It all started on the planet named Vegeta"
