As I walked through the hallway of the vast company, I could feel my hands already trembling, my CV in hand already wrinkled from passing it down from one boss to another. As I watch the beautiful ladies and handsome men go about their daily duties, I could tell that was no place for me. If it weren't for my sister who suggested this place for me, I wouldn't even dare dream of working here. NovaTech industries...what the heck was I thinking. With a loud sigh I made my way to the reception whilst fixing my hair and straightening up my clothes. As the rang the bell the get the attention of the receptionist, she turned to look at me with barely restrained disgust. "Do you have an appointment?" She asked in a bored tone as if speaking was a hassle, wasn't she just talking a minute ago?. I cleared my throat before speaking up "I'm here for an interview please" she didn't even bother looking me in the eye and just turned around "there aren't any vacant positions" I immediately raised an eyebrow and narrowed my gaze before speaking up again sounding a bit skeptical "excuse me but are you the manager?" The receptionist slammed her fits on the table and pointed to the door. "It doesn't matter if I'm the manger or not. Without my permission you can't see him so get out before I call security" before I even had the chance to speak up, I heard a voice speak from behind, Deep, rich and held a lot of authority that made the hairs on my neck stand. "Hannah since when did I give you the manager position?" Hannah? Guess it's the name of the receptionist. I looked up and saw her frozen, the life and colour drained from her face and honestly it was a little funny considering how rude she was acting earlier now all she can do is open her mouth and close it without saying a word. Guess this man holds a higher position. I felt a strong pair of hands grip my shoulders not too tight, he leaned down just to my ears and whispered "and who might you be" I jumped slightly and could feel my ears burning up from embarrassment. "I'm ...I'm Chloe and I'm here for an interview but no worries I was just leaving since the receptionist told me there aren't any vacant positions" I scold myself internally for stuttering so much and looking like a complete looser. I felt so embarrassed that I mentally prayed for the earth to swallow me up. The man just grinned at me, and my breath hitches slightly as I realized how sharp his gaze was, probably sharp as a knife. He rests his hand on my shoulder before whispering in my ears again "Actually there is , please follow me to my office" I nod and quietly followed him to an office near the reception....
