Chapter 5 - Part 5. Finding out

Elaron woke up from the anesthetic he had inhaled earlier. She held her head, which was still dizzy from the anesthetic she had inhaled. She tried to remember what happened and immediately opened her eyes wider.

She was about to get out of bed, but her head still felt dizzy, making her undo her intention to get out of bed. She looked at the cell phone on her nightstand. She picked up her cell phone and dialed someone.

"Hello," Elaron said when the line connected.

"How is it? Is everything safe?" asked Elaron.

"Yes ma'am, Mr. Axton's wound is not that deep at all, so it's safe," replied the person on the other end of the line, who was none other than Jax. Jax didn't need to be explained anymore about the meaning of Elaron's question, he already understood the meaning of Elaron's question just now.

"That's it then," said Elaron, and then she turned off the phone.

Elaron then contacted someone to find out about Ellard Jefferson Walton. After she sent the message, she waited anxiously. She stared at her cell phone screen several times, hoping that the person would soon get information about Ellard.

Someone knocked on her door and called out to see if she was awake. Elaron answered so that her mother, who was calling her, could come into the room. Camelia entered the room while bringing food for Elaron.

"Mom, why bring food here? I'm fine, it's just that your old man gave me sleeping pills," said Elaron.

"Even if you're fine, what's wrong with bringing food for you? It's late, you should eat soon. I'm sure you haven't eaten since noon," Camelia said as she placed the tray of food and water for Elaron right beside Elaron, who was sitting on the edge of her bed.

"I have a lot of work, Mom, so I forgot to eat," Elaron said and took the tray and placed it on the bedside table.

Elanor now took both of her mother's hands and held them. "El just wants to be with Momy. El doesn't need anyone else, El only needs Mommy," El said, looking seriously at her mother then she kissed both of her mother's hands that she made into one then breathed deeply in her mother's hand.

"El wants to be with Mommy," Elaron said as she closed her eyes with her nose right in front of her mother's palm.

Camelia looked at her daughter, who was still closing her eyes. She slowly withdrew her hand from her daughter's hand. When it was released, she rubbed the side of the daughter's head and smoothed the daughter's hair that covered her face.

She didn't say anything, wanting to say that El had the right to live happily with the small family she wanted but was afraid that the daughter would be angry if she said that because she knew the daughter didn't like to discuss marriage. She finally chose to remain silent and rubbed her daughter's cheek or the top of her head.

"You eat first, don't get sick. Your work requires more energy, especially if you have to go to your dad's crocodile cage," Camelia said as she rubbed the top of her daughter's head.

El lifted her head and looked at her mother, and she smiled. "I'm only a woman on the outside, but I'm also a man. Look at this," El said, posing like a bodybuilder.

"Try holding my arm," Elaron said with a smile.

Camelia held her daughter's arm. "There are mussels, right, Mom? So your son is strong, Mom doesn't need to worry," said a cheerful El as she looked at her mother.

"I want to clean my body, Mom, just go back to the room or accompany Mom's old man," said Elaron, still smiling.

"Daddy, baby. Not an old man, he's your daddy. Why is it still so hard to call him daddy?" asked Camelia as she cupped one cheek of Elaron.

Elaron didn't answer, she just smiled at her mom. Camelia didn't push at all on her daughter, who still found it difficult to accept Jhoannes' presence in their lives. For almost 30 years Elaron had lived without knowing the whereabouts of her father, and she only knew that he didn't want her around.

Her mother ran away from the man she said was her father because when she found out her mother was pregnant, the old man forced her mother to abort the fetus that had just come to life in her womb. Hating, of course, Elaron hated her father, suddenly a middle-aged man approached her and said that he was her father and her mother was currently with the person who claimed to be her father.

The hatred was still there, she was in this house because of her mother. The mother who loved the old man very much. She sacrificed herself to save her from that old bastard, now she had to repay her for what she did to her. She had to accept Jhoannes as her father, but to call Jhoannes "Daddy," she had no desire at all. Even for the rest of her life, she would probably never call Jhoannes Dady.

Her mother left, and soon a message arrived. She got what she asked for, data from Ellard Jefferson. Elaron's guess that Ellard was at the hospital where she had seen Esme's doctor earlier that afternoon was correct. She asked Esme's doctor to get information about a child named Ellard Jefferson.

Fortunately, Esme was the mistress of the director of the hospital where she worked, so she could get Ellard's data in detail. Elanor's eyes rounded when she read the results from the doctor. She immediately called Esme to make sure she hadn't misread the diagnosis.

"Hello, doc," Elanor greeted.

"Hello, what is it?" asked Esme, answering Elanor's call.

"The data, is it true that the diagnosis is stage two leukemia?" asked a worried Elanor.

"Yes, the child has stage two leukemia. The child is currently in the hospital because his condition dropped a few days ago," Esme replied.

"Can he recover?" asked a worried Elanor.

"He can recover as long as there is a spinal cord donor for him. From the doctor's information, the family is looking for a suitable donor. His parents are not a match at all. Oh, no-no. Her grandmother is a match, but due to her unhealthy condition, she can't donate her spinal cord," said Esme's doctor.

"Can you see his current state?" asked Elanor.

"What for?" asked Doctor Esme, surprised by Elanor's request.

"I just want to see him, can't I?" asked Elanor.

"No, the ward is heavily guarded by men dressed in black and large. Only the doctor on duty and the family can see Ellard.

"Meet the bodyguard and ask who Helio Orlando is, if you have met him, contact me immediately," said Elanor.

"I don't want to, he's a grandson of the Walton family. I could get fired if they feel I'm intruding," said Esme.

"I'll give you what you're looking for. One of the limited edition bags from the brand you want," said Elanor.

"Okay, deal," Esme said, and then the phone disconnected.
