Chapter 5 - Ch 5: Another Character.

Liam found himself increasingly drawn to Janet's quiet charm. There was something captivating about the way she carried herself. She was reserved yet deeply thoughtful. Their conversations at the library became a cherished routine over the span of time they met and likely sparked by her subtle curiosity about the books he recommended.

He admired the way her eyes lit up when she spoke about her favorite novels, how she explained the characters and themes with an almost poetic understanding. She wasn't just a reader, she felt stories as her own and let them sink into her soul. And that's what fascinated him.

Janet, though initially guarded, began to look forward to their encounters. In his quiet way, he made her feel heard, and that was something she hadn't realized she needed. As their conversations stretched longer with each visit, a friendship grew between them.

Meanwhile, Sam remained consumed by his letters with Lady J, finding solace and excitement in the anonymity of their exchanges. He wrote back:

To Lady J,

"You ask what I'm searching for, Lady J. Perhaps I'm looking for a reason to believe in something beyond the ordinary. These letters, this story, it's unlike anything else in my world.

But let me ask you this: If you could step into the shoes of one character from any story, who would it be and why?

Yours,

Mr. S".

Sam somehow was mesmerised by the rather mysterious conversations with this stranger. More likely because of the thrill and the fact that it somehow felt more real and close to him than anything else. He felt attracted towards this mysterious Lady J and wanted to know more about her. In a way he was happy solely because she existed in his boring life.

Meanwhile Janet was busy with her work and couldn't make time to get back to the library. So after a week of stress and failure she was finally able to make some time and visited the library to fetch the letter. In her own way she too was drawn to Mr S because of the adventure and perhaps because both of them shared the same passion for one another.

When Janet read his latest letter, her heart raced with a sense of adventure. She was so impressed by the letter that she wrote back to him the same day. She writes:

To Mr. S,

"If I could be any character, I'd choose someone bold and free, unafraid to chase their dreams. Perhaps Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice is a sharp, independent woman. Unafraid to stand her ground.

But what about you, Mr. S? Are you a dreamer, or are you content to live within the confines of the real world?"

Yours truly,

Lady J"

Life was different for Emma, who recently graduated and applied for a position at Passion Industries. She had the charm to impress anyone and had the confidence and skills to get things done. Due to her impressive interview, Sam personally approved her hiring.

Through her hard work and exceptional skills she quickly gained his respect. She didn't hesitate to challenge Sam's decisions, which intrigued him. And Sam somehow liked her fearless attitude.

As time went by they became work besties. Sam with his experience and Emma with her inspiring character. Unbeknownst to either of them, Emma began to harbor feelings for Sam, though she didn't dare admit it, not even to herself.

Meanwhile, Liam, growing closer to Janet, tried to subtly hint at his feelings for her. He brought her small gifts, like bookmarks and handwritten notes, but Janet didn't seem to be interested in any way. For her it was just gifts from a close friend. They even went out to have dinner but she simply wasn't fazed by his nature. Possibly because she didn't quite see him in a romantic way.

Meanwhile Liam got to know about Mr. S and Janet. After he accidentally saw her putting a letter into the book. He was curious and when she left the library, he went ahead to look at the contents of the letter. It was obvious that they were talking for some time and that both parties were very connected with each other. Liam wondered, what if he becomes this mysterious Mr. S for her.

One evening while they were out on a walk, Liam made a brave attempt to impress her, he casually mentioned, "You know, I always loved writing and found it fascinating."

Janet replied; Oh that's nice, do you write stories or poems?

Liam nodded his head; I do, but as of now I am busy with my mystery girl who communicates to me via letters.

Janet stood still for a while. As she froze in her position, her mind kept racing.

Letters? Do you not know her name?Janet asked Liam.

Liam replied; Well, I think we are both afraid to confront each other just yet, so we use fictional names to represent ourselves. I write using the symbol S to denote my character.

Janet avoided the answer and wondered Could Liam be Mr. S?

SHE took a glance at him and froze in her place. But she couldn't say anything about her identity yet. Moreover she wasn't entirely convinced of him somehow.
