After we had arrived at my villa last night, I ensured my darling wife got her rest, she was so tired. I know I should probably act restrained and that she now knows that I'm different from how the media describes me to be but that woman is the love of my life.
She doesn't know but our first meeting was when she was eighteen, I was driving home after work when I saw her walk out of The Bookish Bites, I became enthralled with her right in that moment, I just knew she was the one for me. I wanted to take her away and lavish her with all of my attention, to show her how much of a queen she was, my queen, the only one fit enough to be. But I was also sure there was no way she would be with someone as old, not when she was still so young. Even after she left, I was still transfixed, then I saw some thug like men walking into the cafe, they didn't look like they had good intentions clearly, soon enough, the customers were rushing out in panic. I knew something was wrong.
When I got into the cafe, I saw one of the thugs wearing an oddly familiar jacket holding an older man looking similar to my baby up against the wall, I was livid, not because of anything but because of how upset my baby would be if anything happened to that man that looks like her, he should be her father.
"Get your hands off of him right now!" I yelled at one ugly thug.
The thugs all whipped their head in my direction, you would think their necks would fall off at the speed with which they turned.
"And who might you be?" The ugly thug leered.
"The one who's going to beat all your asses in the next second if I have to repeat myself." I threatened.
The threat worked as expected because in the next second he dropped the pitiful man.
"Well, since you want to be meddlesome and involve yourself in the couple's affairs, you might as well settle their debts for them, Knight in Meddlesome armor?" The ugly one mocked.
"You–", "Leave, leave, this is none of your business, you don't have to mind us, we'll settle this. We don't want unnecessary trouble." The wife interrupted just as I was about to respond to the thug.
"Shut up, woman! You think we're here for some child's play, huh?! Do you know if we fail to get our money today, we won't leave here without your lives, and don't think we'd let your pretty daughter off either, she's so pretty she'd be able to make our boss happy. Or you can just hand over your daughter and we can settle your debts happily."
If I wanted to kill this guy's earlier, now I just want to mutilate them in the worst way possible, I wanted to set up a personal torture room for them and peel off every layer of their skin and film every moment of it so I can watch it over and over again for even having such thoughts towards my girl. They were courting death so blatantly. Such stupid men deserve to die miserably for even having such stupid thoughts. I knew they had to be from that gang if they could act so brazenly even when they knew anyone could call the police.
I chuckled to get their attention.
"Who is your boss?" I questioned. I already knew the gang they came from, I whipped out my phone already calling their boss. In no time at all he answered the call.
"Hello boss, what do you need me to do?" He called out in a weary tone.
"Diego, you're so capable now? Even daring to lay your disgusting hands on my people? You don't even put me in your eyes anymore? You must have forgotten who I am and what I'm capable of. Don't think just because I have withdrawn from this scene, that my influence is still not as far reaching.
I think I have to remind you once more what I'm capable of."
I threatened.
"I'm giving you ten minutes, I want your punies out of this cafe and I want every deal between you and the Bookish Bites cancelled. I'll sort it out with you, and if I hear any of this farce anymore I'll really have to clean you up, I don't think I have to reiterate that!" I sneered and hung up.
The puny thugs received a call the next second, judging from the wary look on their faces afterwards I think it'd be safe to assume they now knew who I was. Who am I kidding, I'm an existence they were loathe to offend.
"Do I still need to tell you to scram, or you need extra assistance?" I didn't even finish that sentence before they scrambled out. Dogs!
The man and his wife cast relieved looks in my direction, they wanted to say something but I directed them to sit.
"Thank you for that young man, but do you think they wouldn't come back? Right now we are indebted to both you and that gang, we don't hav–", I cut him off.
I understood where he was coming from, he was scared he wouldn't be able to protect his family after I leave, who wouldn't. But I'm doing this with an ulterior motive.
"You don't have to worry I already called their boss, their little gang still has to listen to me, they dare not come back if they don't want to taste their ruin! But why are they after you?" I asked.
They later introduced themselves and we had a conversation. Turns out their daughter loved bakeries from her childhood and they wanted to have one of theirs too, so they reached out to take a loan from that gang, he tricked them into signing an unfair contract, the interest they had to pay was an hundred times more than the money they took out and it was increasing monthly, no wonder they couldn't pay it off. I helped them with the loan and got the gang off their backs. They didn't have to pay me back, I only wanted to court their daughter, then they proposed a betrothal because I helped save theirs and their daughter's dreams.
That was my intention anyways so I didn't think of rejecting.
And that is how I got to meet my beloved wife.
I finally got the woman of my life.
