Elder Erin's patience snapped. "Enough!" His voice cut through the disarray like a whip. The entire group froze. "Behave yourselves! We are here to handle the situation, not create more chaos."
The enforcers stiffened, quickly straightening their postures. With that settled, Elder Erin turned to Zane, kneeling beside him. He placed two fingers on Zane's forehead and sent a small pulse of magic through him, scanning his condition. The energy signature was unstable but not life-threatening. His body had been through a horrific transformation, but he was recovering.
"He'll survive," Elder Erin muttered. "For now."
Satisfied that Zane wasn't about to die on him, the elder turned to Ethan, who was still bound by Liam's spell.
Elder Erin folded his arms and narrowed his eyes. "Now then. Tell me what happened here. What did you do?"
