Auriel felt lost for the first time since she had started using her powers as a goddess. As far as she knew, nothing like this had happened before.
The network formed between the goddesses was something that used divine power as its base. Divine power existed everywhere, even in the vastness of the void. And as long as it existed, it served as a connection between the goddesses and the realm of divinity.
For something to be obstructing her from making her way back… it likely was not something on her end.
The only thing that made sense in this context was that this was happening from the other side of the connection.
In simpler words, someone in heaven was purposely trying to keep Auriel from returning.
