Chapter 11 - 11- The Earlier the Better!

After a short while the driver entered the room meeting Zephyr quietly sitted on the floor with his back on his working desk as he stared at the drawings on the ceiling of his roof. A drawing of drawings, each telling a story of their own.

"Good afternoon Young Master, I am here to escort and give you a ride. " The driver presented with a bow like he had been doing since he was assigned to Zephyr.

With no hesitation, he walked in to the room and pulled a large trunk that was by his wardrobe which Zephyr had failed to notice with the poor lighting. Was all his property in a trunk? That was most likely possible!

"Can I take the ceiling?" Zephyr blotted as he stared at his driver with tired eyes.

"I am afraid that would not be possible given the little amount of time we have before we leave." The driver reasoned as he pulled the trunk over a short distance and walked behind the trunk to push it across the room.

"But that is what I need most." Zephyr sighed as he turned around in pain. The driver could not help but place his hands on his waist and remark."You look like my daughter during her monthly trials." He could not help but chuckle as he resumed pushing the trunk.

"Thoughts on my genuine feelings, I feel really messed up. I really need some shut eye and some very delicious food." Zephyr complained as he closed his eyes, squeezing them shut.

"I have that covered, your meal for the ride. It is a very long ride..." The driver reasoned and kept talking when Zephyr raised his hand to interrupt him, ignoring him. "I am aware that is quite late during the day but I would love to remind you of the saying, the earlier the better."

"There is no such saying!" Zephyr argued as he stood up like someone who had being drunken to stupor stepping over his own toe.

"There now is. I appreciate you cooperating with me." The driver said with a light dad chuckle as he pulled the trunk with much ease after seeing Zephyr follow him through the house.

"I know you will miss house, the comfort and luxury it provides but you should know you are going to a bigger world open for adventure and possibilities." The driver advised as they went down the stairs facing the entrance door of the house. It was a splendid house indeed with intricate designs and drawings in every corner from the floor to the stairs, the ceilings, everywhere.

He could not help but feel the gravity of the driver's words as he walked down past the series of the huge portraits of his ancestors hung by the front stairs with different looks which was quite perculiar. It did not feel quite as pressuring as he thought it would be when he would be leaving for the academy like they did when they left their homes to hunt for a life of their dreams.

'May be it is because I do not have a dream I am chasing after.' Zephyr reasoned to himself.

'Then better find it,' Kaelan grunted. 'The earlier the better!'

Zephyr rolled his eyes as he walked out of the house into the car that was parked in front of the courtyard, entering the car as clumsily as possible.

While sitted in the passenger seat as the driver put his trunk into the car's trunk. He removed the thermoflask that was in the closet compartment of the arm rest at the neck seat and quickly opened it.

The aroma escaped the flask and filled, attacking Zephyr's nose causing his stomach to audibly glumble. He brought the hot sauce to his lips and took a large gulp before noticing the rice.

'Oh boy. I never thought white rice and fried chicken could look this appetizing.' Zephyr said to himself.

When the sauce had gone down, he gobbled the rice and inhaled the chicken. Causing the food disappear as quickly as he had appeared.

After finishing the food that is when he noticed how sleepy he was. With a full stomach fed with delicacies and administered with sleeping pills, he found sound asleep like a baby, limb with his mouth open as drool slowly dropped out of this mouth cold.

Mr. Heffer could not help but smile at the boy's expression. He parked on the sidewalk and went to the backseat, retracting the armrest at the middle as gently pushing his long body to a comfortable pose. After which he threw a blanket on him as he went back to the driver's seat and turned on the air conditioning.

After joining the traffic on the highway, he checked if Zephyr was doing well at the back. He could not help as he could still the young boy he first !et on their first encounter.

Willow suffered from postpartum illness and could not carry Zephyr about for his own medical appointments with Ubel always in business meetings and trips given the size of its operation. She needed a help, a driver , someone she could trust to look after the little creature that had a hand in her present illness. Then he came, with great recommendation, waltzed into their lives with determination to carry out a perfect job.

After her recovery, she called to send him off but where would she find someone that would look after her child with the love of a mother than a recent father. After finding out that he was a father to a four year old daughter and meeting her, Willow did not bother terminating their contract.

The little boy Heffer carried around those years back was now the young man too tall to sleep comfortably in his own car.

Mr. Heffer could not help but let out his dad chuckle at the thought of it and mumbled to himself. "Time does fly." He said as he looked at himself and noticed a very thin white strand of hair from his reflection on the rearview mirror.

"Better than balding!" He said with a shrug as he stepped on the accelerator, attaining sonic speed leaving nothing but a trail of 'nothingness' and 'what was that?'
