Chereads / To His Hell and Back / Chapter 14 - To Entertain a Vampire

Chapter 14 - To Entertain a Vampire

What stage could this vampire could build for her?  Was it a real stage? Or worse… the scaffold?

He had a grin stretching his pale lips, his face seemed delighted. His blood red eyes intently eyed her, but deep in it was so much amusement like a large snake that had just caught a delightful prey and was telling it to dance before being pushed into his stomach.

He tapped the door, his eyes narrowing, "Come out. I don't have the hobby of harming my own pet, little birdie. Listen to me well and I'll treat you better than any pet in the castle."

Arabella closed her eyes tightly, cursing in her head. She then dragged her feet, following the crown prince toward the door. He then closed it behind her and walked toward the long hallway with the floor covered in the thick red carpet that was softer than her pillows. She stared downward, her hands fiddling as she questioned what kind of "stage" this vampire had prepared so she could serve him "entertainment". What if she fail to entertain him? Will he kill her?

She squeezed her hands that were getting sweatier and colder, though she wanted to look brave, her heart and body betrayed her.

Cassius who was three steps ahead of her, heard so clearly the sound of her heartbeat racing and he couldn't help himself from chuckling. She tried so hard to be brave but if she had a cat ear and tails now, it would have been shaking and curling over her legs. He turned his face slightly, finding her who was staring at the floor, her brain racing to find a solution that he could almost hear the gears moving inside of it.

He hummed briefly, staring at her and wondering why was it that this human was so different to him.

Stopping by a room, he stopped and Bella flicked her head upward, staring at the door that now appeared like Hell's gate right in front of her eyes. She briefly made an eye contact with him and his red eyes paralyzed her for a second, "Listen, birdie," his voice so sweet but as sweet as it is, Bella knew how frightening that voice was! "There's a woman who's been going around bothering me. I find her quite annoying you see?"

She stared at him, "Can't you shoo her off?"

"I did, birdie," he chuckled, "And I'm this close to killing her," he pinched a small space between his thumb and index finger, raising it toward her. "I want you to shoo her off for me."

She stared at him wider than before, "How can I do that?!"

If he's the crown prince.. then the woman who's chasing after him inside this room must be someone from a high noble rank! How can she act rude? Wouldn't she be killed?

"Ran havoc and I'll support you. Do well and I'll reward you," he whispered before her ears as he placed her hand into the door knob. His ice cold fingers sent shiver down her spine. "Entertain me and you'll live longer."

She was still processing his words when the door in front of her was pushed open and her body fall forward and down to the floor. Thankfully, the ground beneath her was covered in the fur carpet of a lion which was soft though it was a bit rough on the edges. She then stiffly ventured to the room with her eyes, finding that young lady who was sitting on the red plush couch. Her legs crossed while she placed her nose above her teacup, enjoying the fragrance only to stop and turn to the scene in front of her with a deep frown.

She put down the teacup in a hurry and walked up toward Cassius. In process, she stepped on Bella's fingers which made Bella to wince. She closed her eyes tightly and then at Cassius's who was looking at her hands that had just been stepped as if he was thinking of something. Those red gaze darken and he pulled a smile which made her understood that he hadn't come here for fun. He had came here for destruction!

"Your Highness!" The woman in the lime gown greeted. She bowed her body slightly forward, her eyes were red but it pale in comparison to Cassius' red ones. She seemed enamored by Cassius's appearance as although his personality was shit to Arabella, his face is indeed a treasure. He look like a demon and she was once told by her mother than a demon would make themselves to look so beautiful to human's eyes so they could deceive them.

"I have been waiting for your arrival. I had thought that you would be busy yet again."

"Indeed, I have been busy," uttered Cassius while Bella looked at him with an incredulous expression.

Busy? You were just on your bed, lingering doing nothing!

"Liar.. pointless vampire..." she mumbled under her breath while Cassius seemed to have drawn a faint frown after her very faint comment that even the lady in front of them couldn't hear.

"My, my, my, come here. I shall relieve you out of your exhaustion." The lady said then while pulling Cassius gently toward the chair. He seemed unmoved. Though he had sat on the chair rather quietly, his eyes were far from interested or amused. He seemed like he was going to snap the lady's neck and Bella wondered how could this lady be so blind as to not notice this?!

The lady, whose name is Blair, placed her hand on his broad shoulder, gently pressing her fingers while the frown between Cassius's straight black eyebrow deepen.

Arabella wanted to shout at Blair to leave the vampire as soon as possible as he doesn't seem to be pleased the more that the girl tried to touch him. It wasn't that he didn't have the courage to shoo Blair off, it was that he was waiting for Bella to do something.

As if on the verge of exploding, Cassius turned his face toward her. His smile turning more menacing as he muttered without voicing out his words, only moving his lips for her to see and understand, "Do it now. Shoo her. Entertain me." He wasn't requesting her to start her action but an order. His meaningful look seemed to tell her that he was going to kill both her and Lady Blair if she continue to remain motionless on the floor.

"Birdie." He ordered, this time his tone deadlier.
