Luke: "Everything is really your fault."
Haruka: "Yeah, that's for sure!" she said almost as if I was the only one who didn't know. "Well, what? Are you surprised it was me who said it? I admit, everything could have gone well if I hadn't messed things up."
Haruka Myome, the girl who literally wrecked my life. But no, missy got bored in the afterlife and decided to pester a poor soul like me.
Haruka: "Luke, what are you thinking about now? People will think you're crazy if you keep staring into space like that."
Luke: "What do you want in the end, why are you following me everywhere?"
Haruka: "I'm not following you, you're just heading exactly the same way as me, there's a big difference!"
Luke: "Seriously, what did I do to deserve this, did I desecrate your grave or something?"
Haruka: "No! If that were the case, you wouldn't be in this world anymore."
Luke: "Wait, what? Not in this world anymore, so what? I didn't clean it well, there weren't enough flowers, oh I know, I wasn't there in September, you know what, I'm really sorry."
(I wasn't really there, I swear, on the 27th to be precise, but when she responded, it was like a reminder of why I did all this.)
Haruka: "You thought about me too much."
(For a moment I thought I misheard or that she was mocking me. I thought she was still joking, but after seeing her, there was no doubt, she wasn't joking anymore. The next part, I don't know what got into me to spill everything out so bluntly, I feel a bit ashamed.)
Luke: "Too much! I don't think so, I thought about you all the time," I said while looking at the metro ceiling, "you can't imagine how much I missed you, every day, every time I see the path we used to take every day."
Haruka: "What do you mean, we, back then I was with..."
Luke: "Yes, I know during that time you were always with Levi, whether it was going to school or coming back, you were always together, inseparable! But the days you came back alone... even if I wasn't beside you, holding your hand like that idiot did, I cherished those moments."
After this super embarrassing declaration, I even allowed myself to giggle, saying that I took her as a work of art that I had to admire from afar. Then nothing, an almost awkward silence, but after that... well, I kind of deserved it.
Haruka: "Why?... you're such a damn pervert!"
Luke: "Nothing to do with that, forget it, but what did you mean by 'you thought about me too much'?"
Haruka: "Really, either you spew nonsense or ask questions! I have an idea, I'll answer all your questions but with 3 conditions."
Luke: "Why would I accept?"
Haruka: "If you don't want me to distract you for the rest of your life."
A few minutes ago at Luke's apartment
Haruka: "Wow, he really lives a miserable life, this is really the guy who's stopping me from being at peace. He hasn't changed at all, it's quite comfortable, yet why does he look so depressed, he's even more depressing than I was back then. Let's see the other rooms. A well-organized room, a bit too much for my taste, nothing in the fridge, oh a slice of pizza... yuck! Already expired, wasn't he supposed to be super hygienic? But where did he go? He's taking his time! What is he doing? I've already checked everything, no! The bathroom remains!"
Haruka: "Hey, you're taking your time, are you pooping? Constipated?"
Luke: "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!"
Back to the present
Haruka: "Haha, you screamed like a little girl, oh no! What did I say about my privacy?"
Luke: "Let's not talk about it anymore, what are your conditions?"
Haruka: "Oh, Mr. is blushing, okay I'll tell you. First, I want you to confess everything that really happened 6 years ago, I want to know everything. You were there, you must know everything, right? Second, you must promise to forget me after all the conditions are met."
Luke: "Just like that!"
Haruka: "Hush, don't worry, in time... The last condition is that you read my book in my old apartment, and the bonus, well I'll let you know in due time."
Luke: "What do you mean in due time?"
Haruka: "Oh yes, I forgot to tell you that you get 6, no 5 questions per day, so do we have a deal?"
