Chapter 16 - Calm before storm

It's been a while since the madness of Valentine's Day, and, well, a lot's happened. Me and Astro? We've become a whole lot stronger, unlocked abilities that even I didn't expect to have in our arsenal. It's funny how things change so quickly. Himiko and Astro aren't officially dating yet, but they're getting there... slowly. No rush, I guess. As for me? I've been chilling, keeping track of things, trying not to interfere too much with the MHA timeline. I've been training, and well, let's just say I've leveled up, but no spoilers. You'll find out when it's time. Oh, and Onisan, Lucy, adopted me and Astro. Yeah, now we've got a big sister, and honestly, I wouldn't want anyone else.

Now, let's catch up with the rest of the crew.

---

Himiko Toga:

Ah, Himiko. Our resident Chara. Things have settled down for her, and honestly, she's doing way better now. The apartment? It's practically a home now. So much more furniture and space. She's living that cozy, unbothered life. A lot different from before, when she was alone and lost. Her training with me, Astro, and Mina has been going well. Her knife skills are solid, though still not quite at the level of her canon self. But she's getting there. Her blood cravings have reduced a lot too. I'm glad. It's not easy to fight that urge. And guess what? Astro being the weirdo that he is, actually let her feed off him. Yeah, vampire-style. If you think that's weird...well, you're right. But Astro enjoys it, and Himiko's no longer struggling with it, so everyone wins.

Mina Ashido:

My bubbly, pink idiot. What would I do without her? She's still in elementary school, but she's growing fast. A solid 14 years old now. I'm expecting everything to go down as usual in the canon events—meeting Kirishima, the Gigantomachia incident, all that good stuff. I'll admit, I feel kinda bad for not helping out with those events, but I've got a strong feeling that if I jump in too much, things might get a little too wobbly. I already messed with Toga's fate, so...yeah. Let's just let things play out.

But Mina's training is on point. After that sparring match, she's been on our cases day in and day out, bugging Astro and me to help her train harder. It's honestly exhausting, but hey, it's paying off. I'd say she's at the same strength level as her canon counterpart in season 2, maybe even stronger. As for her love life? Nope. No one yet. You guys can decide that one. Personally, I think she's too busy to care.

---

Astro Kugisaki:

Ah, Astro. My favorite idiot. You'd think with all the training and magic stuff he'd be a little more serious, but nope. Still the same dumbass. I love him, though. He's gotten slightly taller, but don't get it twisted—I'm still the bigger one. He's still a compact muscle wall, but inside, he's just a big ol' softie. His magic training's been going great. He found something new recently—he can properly divide his Justice and Determination. Yeah, that's right. He has two new forms now: Justice Form and Determination Form. When he's in his Justice form, a yellow-gold aura surrounds him, and his eyes turn yellow too. He also gets a cowboy hat...because, well, Justice, right?

And now, he can use SOUL Vision. Yeah, I'm not the only one with that ability. He's also awakened his system, just like me. The guy's a freakin' powerhouse now.

Iruma Dreemur:

As for me? Same old, same old. Been bouncing between bounty jobs, spending time with the family... just living the dream. But man, I'm starting to get bored. There's been no real action lately. You know that feeling when you're just waiting for something exciting to happen? Yeah, that's where I'm at. MHA is known for its epic fights, plot twists, and insane battles. I'm just waiting for something to really kick off. But hey, I'm close to the entrance exam, so there's that. One more year until middle school's done, and I can start making moves. Me and Astro are 15 now, but we've already seen so much... So yeah, don't expect me to just sit around much longer.

I've been getting stronger too. My abilities are better than before, but I've still got a long way to go. Only question I've got for you, dear readers, is this:

Do you wanna have one hell of a mad time? Because after this is where the real action picks up.

Astro was pacing back and forth, nervously clutching the chocolate and the new knife he bought for Toga. He was sweating a little, the nerves getting to him. I stood next to him, arms crossed, grinning like an idiot. "You good, man?"

"Shut up, Iruma," he muttered, avoiding eye contact. "I'm not good. What if she hates it?"

"You've been planning this for weeks," I reminded him. "You'll be fine."

Finally, he took a deep breath, walked over to Toga, and nervously handed her the gifts. She looked at him, her eyes softening as she examined the pendant and the knife. A small, genuine smile formed on her lips.

"You got these for me?" she asked, her voice soft but excited.

Astro nodded awkwardly. "Uh... yeah. I know you like knives, and I thought... you'd like the pendant too. And chocolates. And teddy bears."

Toga's smile widened as she gently took the gifts, her eyes sparkling. She stood on her tiptoes, leaned in, and pressed a soft kiss on his cheek. "Thank you, Astro. This means a lot to me."

Astro froze, his face turning a shade of red I didn't think was possible. "W-What? You... you really liked it?"

She giggled. "Of course I did. You're sweet, Astro."

As we walked back to the apartment, Astro's words echoed in my ears. "I'm never washing my face again."

I couldn't help but laugh. "This again? You're an idiot. I'll make sure you do."

And as we walked into the orphanage, I knew—this was just the beginning. Something big was coming. And I was ready for it.
