Chapter 11 - 11|You are my wife.

Valentina pov

"Your name is Emily Knight, and you are my wife." The tall, devastatingly handsome stranger finally broke the suffocating silence after what felt like an eternity.

His deep voice sent a shiver down my spine, and I swallowed hard, turning to look in his direction. Damn.

No matter how much I stared at him, I couldn't get used to how absurdly breathtaking he was. He had the kind of presence that made you wonder just how much time God spent sculpting him. Those piercing gray eyes seemed to see straight through me, and the sharp angles of his jaw looked as if they had been chiseled by the heavens themselves.

I'd seen my fair share of attractive men—or at least, I think I have. It's hard to say when I can't even remember my own name. What was I saying again? Right, attractive men.

The first thing I noticed when I woke up was an adorable boy clinging to me like his life depended on it. And then him. The man standing not far away, built like a Greek god brought to life. His face alone had me staring—sharp angles, piercing gray eyes, and lips that practically oozed temptation. He wasn't just attractive; he was the kind of man you'd expect to see in one of those steamy romance movies where every scene screams, 'I can give you the best time of your life.'

Anyway, before I could make sense of anything—after I'd blurted out that embarrassing word and endured the man's utterly baffled look, like I was the most insane person he'd ever encountered—he casually pulled out his phone and made a call.

Minutes later, I found myself surrounded by three men and the boy who had been clinging to me earlier. They all stared at me, eyes wide with a mix of disbelief and confusion, as if I had suddenly sprouted two heads.

"Emily?" I repeated slowly, the name rolling off my tongue like a foreign word. My brows furrowed as a strange unease settled over me. The name—it was distant, unfamiliar, like it didn't belong to me. Like I didn't belong to it.

But then it hit me—he had said something else. Something that sent a jolt through me.

I whipped my head toward him, ignoring the sharp ache in my stiff limbs. My eyes were wide as I tried to process his words, my heart pounding harder than it should have been.

"Did you just say that I'm your wife? Like... your legal wife?" I asked, disbelief in my voice, though a slight smile tugged at the corners of my lips.

The room grew tense as the other two men shifted their gazes between me and the man who had claimed me as his wife. Alexander—that's what they'd called him earlier. Their expressions mirrored my own curiosity, their eyes fixed on him, waiting to hear his answer.

Alexander simply nodded, and before I could stop myself, a laugh escaped me. I quickly covered my mouth, trying to stifle the sound, but it was no use.

Who would have thought I'd end up married to him? Oh my God. This man really belonged to me?

"Bastard," the doctor muttered under his breath, sending a sharp glare at the man, who simply brushed it off, unfazed.

"Wait..." I spoke again, my gaze shifting to the little boy in my lap. His smile brightened when he noticed my attention, and he leaned into my touch. "Is this our son?"

Alexander nodded once again casually leaning against the wall. "He is. His name is—"

"Felix," the young boy interrupted, his voice soft and shy as he blinked up at me. "My name is Felix."

The moment he spoke, it felt like a love arrow had pierced my heart. I couldn't even remember him, but his innocent smile melted me in an instant.

"Aww, your name is just as adorable as you~," I cooed, gently pinching his cheek. His face turned bright red as he squirmed closer to me, looking up with wide, bashful eyes.

As I continued to playfully tease the smiling little boy, the weight of the three men's stunned gazes became impossible to ignore. I glanced up, meeting their intense stares—the two men looked at me with a flicker of shock, while Alexander's eyes glimmered with quiet amusement.

Something I'd noticed since I woke up was the way these two men were staring at me—completely dumbfounded. For what reason? I still couldn't figure it out.

"Hm," I opened my mouth to ask, but before I could get the words out, the doctor spoke up, his voice laced with astonishment.

"Sebastian, pinch me. Did the kid just speak, or am I hallucinating?—Ow, that pinch was way too hard!"

"Dr. Daniel, you're not hallucinating," Sebastian replied, still staring at Felix as if he'd just witnessed a miracle.

"The little devil-," Sebastian muttered under his breath, but Felix immediately shot him a look, his glare sharp. Then, with a mischievous grin, he turned back to me, as if the whole exchange had never happened.

"I mean... Master Felix actually spoke! He really did!"

"He did! Oh my God! Alexander wasn't lying after all!" Daniel and Sebastian exclaimed in disbelief, their voices high-pitched with excitement. They clapped their hands together, their excitement practically bubbling over.

I stared at them, completely baffled, before my gaze shifted back to Alexander. His intense stare froze me in place, but it wasn't just his eyes—it was the smirk playing at the corner of his lips as he watched me.

I swallowed hard, reluctantly tearing my gaze away from him. Why did it feel like I had just stared into the eyes of the devil himself?

The devil? Get a grip. He was just a really attractive man. Nothing more.

Yet, deep in the pit of my stomach, a nagging feeling told me this was only the beginning of something I was utterly unprepared for.
