Chapter 5 - She Was Rejected For Her Height

The king and queen were deeply troubled by Obinna's choice. That evening, they summoned Adaeze, a renowned seer known for her wisdom and ability to communicate with the gods. The seer arrived at the palace, her presence commanding respect. She wore flowing white robes adorned with cowries, and her eyes seemed to pierce into the soul of anyone who met her gaze.

"You have called for me, Your Majesties," Adaeze said, her voice calm and measured. "What troubles you?"

The queen explained the situation, her tone laced with frustration. "Our son wishes to marry a girl named Oluchi. She is… not suitable. We need guidance."

Adaeze closed her eyes and began to hum softly, her hands tracing patterns in the air. The room grew silent as the seer entered a trance. After several moments, she spoke, her voice resonant and powerful.

"The gods have spoken," she said. "Oluchi is not an ordinary woman. She has been chosen to bring prosperity to this land. Her union with the prince is destined. Together, they will lead this kingdom into an era of abundance and peace."

The king frowned. "But she is not what we expected. How can she fulfill such a destiny?"

Adaeze opened her eyes, fixing him with a stern look. "The gods do not make mistakes. Do not let your prejudice blind you to their will."

The queen hesitated, her mind torn between tradition and the seer's words. "What if the people do not accept her?"

"They will," Adaeze said. "When they see the blessings that follow her, they will bow before her."

The days leading up to the wedding were tense. Oluchi was summoned to the palace, her heart heavy with fear and uncertainty. She had never imagined herself as a queen, and the thought of standing before the royal family filled her with dread.

When she arrived, she was greeted with cold stares and whispers. The palace servants avoided her, and the courtiers looked at her with disdain. Only Obinna treated her with kindness, his presence was a constant source of reassurance.
