Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

We must have looked like escapees from a mental home as we both struggled to keep the phone away from Tyler while trying to see what he was doing in it.

" Tyler!, you naughty little thing!" I gasped when l saw it.

" Oh my god, I did not just see that.." Sid laughed, Tyler stood, arms folded with a scowl on his handsome face.

" So this is what you've been up to lately." I smirked at him.

" It's not what you think." He blushed, collecting the phone from Sid whose red face matched his.

" Of course, pookie bear." I cooed, he rolled his eyes.

"how do you even come up with such nasty things? " Sid asked.

" Shut up. " He smiled shyly.

" So, are you coming with us tonight? " I asked.

" Hmmm? " He looked clueless.

" The party. "Sid says.

" Ohhhhh, I would've but I've promised Paris that... " He started but trailed off.

" You know what? Fuck it, when is the party." He says.

" Yessss, now thats what I'm talking about!" Sid says excitedly.

" It's okay if you have plans with Paris, we can just —" I started to say but he cut me off.

" I want to come. It's been a while since I went to a party anyways, and I think... maybe.. we need some time apart... even if it's for a few hours." He blushed when he said the last part.

" Great. I'll text you guys the address." I say and the Bell rang.

" Let's go get ready." Sid was practically jumping from her sit out of the cafeteria pulling me along.

" See ya." Tyler said.

 *********

Eight hours later, I stood in my room trying to decide what outfit to wear.

There was a little beige body-con dress and a black two piece shirt and mini- skirt.

I glanced at my table, I should be studying, catching up on what I missed and finishing Mr. Pierce's assignment. I sighed. Well, if I'm gonna go to this damn party, I might as well dress to kill.

With a sly smile, I picked up the black outfit and got dressed.

Ten minutes later, I took in my appearance in the mirror , I had settled for a simple makeup and made my hair fall down in waves around my face. The black shirt was a little cropped and hugged my upper body perfectly, it had a low cut neck, revealing just the right amount of cleavage and two thin straps went over my shoulders to the back, the skirt, a little above my knees and my black Nikes

I smiled at my overall look and suddenly thought whether Xavier would like it or not, I couldn't ponder on it for long when the door opened and in walked Sid.

" Woah." She gasped.

" What? I look good right?" I smiled.

" Good? Look at you, you're like a freaking model! Xavier's gonna lose it when he sees you." She said.

I secretly hoped she was right. It'll be fun to see him dazed and dumbfounded for a change.

Sid was wearing a little yellow dress, paired with a white jacket and white sandals.

" Damn girl, you look.... gorgeous!" I compliment.

" You hesitated. I know I don't —"

" Hey, don't you finish that sentence. You're beautiful. Do you feel it though?" I asked.

" I think so?" She says.

I glared at her playfully,

" I do." She smiles adjusting her glasses.

" That's the spirit, now let's go party!" I say, taking my jacket, phone and a lipgloss.

" It's already 10pm, we're late!" Sid says

" I doubt that." I say as I locked the door to room and we walked downstairs.

" Ready?" I asked sid when we were outside the door. The room was awfully quiet.

" Yes." She held my hand and we took a deep breath simultaneously.

" Come on guys, just get in already!" Tyler spoke, he reeked of alcohol, it seems he already pregamed.

We shot him a glare and he raised his hands with a chuckle. I turned the doorknob and we entered inside.

Unlike the girls hostel which simply used letters to denote each floor, the boys hostel had names for each floor. There were two buildings with three floors each, Harvey house was in the first floor of dorm A, it had a sound prof common room.

Is that even allowed?

I guess not, no sane school would let a student common room be sound prof.

The room was packed with students, the smell of cheap beer, alcoholic drinks and sweaty bodies filled the air. I removed my jacket and sid followed suit as we walked in, there were seniors everywhere, most of them with stern faces and some with playful expressions as the music boomed through the room,

I feel sick." Sid suddenly said, she looks nervous af.

" Don't worry, I got you." I say, linking our hands together.

I myself felt sick it's been a while since I've been to a party.

Suddenly,

" Hey, ladies, want a drink?" A boy walked up to us and said, flashing a smile.

" No thanks." I told him.

" I insist. " He says, his red eyes turning a bit glossy as he swirled the dark red liquid in his cup around.

" Yeah sure." Sid spoke surprising me.

" Let's go." Tyler says too, they looked like they were in some sort of trance.

" Are you sure?" I asked them both, looking at Sid whose initial nervousness seems to have been replaced with an eerie calmness.

" Yes." They replied simultaneously.

Okay, now this is getting really weird.

" After you." The red eyed boy flashed a close lipped smile and sid walked in front, followed by him and Tyler trudging behind.

They soon got lost in the crowd.

I suddenly was standing alone, a feeling of dread welling up in my stomach.

My eyes scanned the room for any familiar face but there was none. Flashes of memories swirled through my head and I clutched my necklace tightly with my right hand.

What the hell was I thinking?

This was a bad idea. I shouldn't be around such many drinks, what if everything I've worked hard to achieve comes crashing down?

I suddenly felt claustrophobic, bile rising up my throat and I was about to rush out when I bumped into someone.

" Oh come on!" I snapped.

" Cutie? What are you —" he paused mid sentence as his eyes ran all over my body.

" Where's the restroom?" I asked him trying to not let the music overshadow my voice.

" It's down the hall by.....wait,are you okay? What's going on? You look pale." He asks.

" Just show me the fucking restroom, Nathan, please." I snapped.

He pursed his lips and pulled me gently by my hand out the door.

We walked down the hall in silence as I tried to even my breathing, I vaguely hear him saying something about the restrooms being nasty and opening a door at the end of the hall that led to a shorter hallway.

" Go on." He opened the door and I immediately walked in, closed the door behind me and took a deep breath.

I turned on the tap, washed my hands and left it on.

I'm alright

I'm alright

I'm safe.

I chanted softly closing my eyes and trying to stop the memories as I sunk to the ground.

I tried to focus on the steady sound of the running water.

I'm alright.

Minutes later. Everything stopped and I felt okay.

I slowly took in my surroundings.

I was in a bathroom, a big bathroom with white tiled walls, everything looked neat and well kept.

I stood up and walked to the door, opening it and walking out, into a room completely painted in white. The bed was a bit messed up with clothes, books, hair products and whatnot in random places, there was a little basketball basket on the wall to my right and a ball sat just below it next to black and white sneakers,

just then, the door creaked open and Nathan walked in.

" You're done?" He asked, worry etched on his face, I nodded.

Figuring out I did not want to talk about, it he didn't probe.

" Thanks." I say and he handed me my phone with a small smile.

" Your room's nice." I say. He didn't have roommates. It was almost like mine except for the fact that his had an en suite bathroom.

" Yeah, it's alright." He says.

There was a minute of awkward silence before I spoke,

" I should get back to the party"

" Yes. Sure, let's go." He answered opening the door. As I walked out, I noticed that there was only five rooms in this particular hallway all bigger than the other rooms outside and more... fancy.

" Is this some kind of private dormitory?" I ask.

" Yeah, you can say that. Only a few students have access to it, dorm B has the same thing too." He explains.

We reached the end and he opened the door that led to the main hallway.

" So, how are you finding the party?" He asks as we approach the common room.

" Not bad." I answer.

" Josh always throws the wildest parties." He chuckled.

" You call this wild? puh-lease!" I teased.

" Collette Anne Millers! Who knew you were secretly a party animal?!" He says with a small smile and I chuckled.

" My middle name isn't Anne." I told him.

" What is your middle name then?" He asked.

" I don't have one."

" You're kidding." He looked surprised.

" Nope."

Mother says I didn't need a middle name so she didn't give me one.

We opened the door and walked back into the blaring music.

How on earth did the school even approve to having a sound prof dorm??

I spotted Evan talking to Kiara Jones, her eyes shooting daggers at me when she saw me. Evan says something that made her turn her gaze from me, when our eyes met, he smiled and I reciprocated.

" I'm guessing, Evan invited you?" Nathan asks.

" More like forced me to come. " I laughed.

" Classic Evan. " Nathan smiles.

What does he mean by that.

He suddenly places his arm over my shoulders

" Wanna play beer pong?" He asks, I glanced at a group of students who were absolutely drunk trying to shoot little white balls into plastic cups.

" No." I said.

" Dance?

"With who?"

" Me, of course." He says cockily.

" And get my feet stepped on? I think I'll pass." I say.

" It seems you don't know who you're talking to, cutie, I'm the king of the dance floor." He winked at me.

" King, hunh? Careful, your majesty, or I might just strip you off your title." I say.

" Is that a challenge?" He said. I raised my eyebrows at him as if on cue, the song changed and students screamed in excitement as most went to the middle of the room to show of their moves.
