Chapter 31 - Gratefulness (NSFW)

The stain had vanished into the ether, and with it, countless people tumbled to the ground—unconscious but still breathing. But before they could even blink, the duo found themselves surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd.

"You saved us again, Lady Savior!"

"You're our true savior, after all!"

"Our dear Calix was so cool too!"

Just like that, the spotlight shifted to the young boy, whose cheeks were turning a shade of red that could rival the sunset. People crowded around him, showering him with praise, and he awkwardly scratched his head, trying to hide his discomfort. It was obvious that he wasn't used to it.

As they made their way back to their humble abode, they were greeted with an avalanche of gifts, food to last them for weeks, comfy new blankets, and, of course, more trinkets than anyone could count. Some even begged to join their "religion," which was, without a doubt, a cult, but hey, who was counting?
