Chapter 2 - NEW PATIENT

Chapter Two

Settling in her chair, Seline grabbed her laptop and frowned. She needed to go through the details of the new patient to be assigned to her. It was actually a good distraction from her current worries, but not exactly her idea of a pleasant one.

"Alright, he's Jason Schneider, hobby: brawling. Wait... brawling? That's really weird," she muttered.

She made one or two comments as she read through his file and frowned again. To be honest, it looked absurd and gave a very vague impression of his personality. No photo attached. Everything about this case betrayed professionalism. One thing was sure, though—he was an affluent personality.

"Schneider!"

He heard the unmistakable voice of the 'witch' as he had nicknamed her, her loud footsteps drew nearer and nearer until she was fully in view. Her brows were creased as she placed her hands on her waist, obviously expecting an explanation.

"What's wrong, hag?" he asked in a jeering tone, relaxing more into the chair as he sipped from the wine glass in his hand.

She scoffed.

"You ask me what's wrong?" she began, her Italian accent unmistakable now. "You have to be somewhere by 10, and you sit here asking what's wrong?" She paused to catch her breath

"You have had me greatly disappointed, Jason."

Jason raised a brow and took another sip, unbothered by her anger. He crossed his legs, then uncrossed them, his movements deliberate and slow,

" Appointment by 10; that doesn't ring a bell"

"Well, it wouldn't, since you've got your ears under your foot!" she shot back. "You were supposed to meet the therapist today, Jason!"

"I see. You really meant it," he replied, nonchalant.

"You gave your word that you'd listen to me for three months

"I did, and I still do." He checked his wristwatch. "Aye, fifteen minutes past ten, I'll call you when I'm ready"

"You're supposed to start by 10, Jason."

"I could easily change my mind. When I'm ready, we'll leave," he teased, sipping his drink.

Her piercing glare lingered before she rolled her eyes and stormed out, her heels clicking sharply against the floor.
