"In what ways I can survive?" Hanz mumur to himself.
"This book, I've been reading this book for the past few months now."
As hanz turn the last page of his book he was shocked at what he saw in the last page.
"I hope you survive —Anon2890". What is this? Hanz eyes showed fear as he stare at the last page of the book.
The train hanz is riding makes a sharp stop causing him to bump into a woman beside him
"Ah! Oh I'm sorry..." The woman said while he was still lost in his thoughs that he didn't notice that the book flew from his hand
It shouldn't.. No... How... What... Im so confused. The woman taps his shoulder and he was back at reality
"Oh uhm I'm sorry ms." He panickly exclaim as he notices that the book was gone.
"No! Where is it!" He said as he stumble on the crowded train, he can't even kneel down to find it since the train is extremly crowded.
This can't be happening, I need to find it now! The book is so valuable to me, I can't lose it now in this time, no.
Hanz tried everything he could to try and find it down but nothing worked, he sigh as the sweat in his body intenses.
The woman who is still watching him creates space between him and her since she got a little startled at hanz actions making her think she was high
Hanz then look at the woman his eyes widen, his face nervous and his face sweated, hanz took a step closer to the woman as the woman tries stepping back
"Have you seen my book?" Hanz questioned her nervously
"Uhm... No"
"Are you sure? Don't you know where it flung?"
"No, I'm sorry" The woman look down hoping for hanz to leave her alone.
Hanz's shoulders slumped as he looked at the woman, his voice soft. 'I'm sorry if I scared you. I just... I need that book.''
"It's alright, I understand everyone has a valuable thing and when its lost they would be reckless just to find that thing, right?" The woman smiles yet she can't shake the fear of hanz but wanting to be a kind woman, she decides to talk to him and not ignore him.
"right...."
I might have startled her but still, I need to find that book, I cant lose it, once everyone the train has stopped, I look for it no matter what.
Hanz nervously tap the pole while eaiting impatiently. He keeps looking everywhere trying to find it but to no avail.
The woman looks at hanz nervous actions, wanting to help she looks around but the same result happens to her
"Hey we might got off to a rought start but may I know your name?" The woman asked smiling at hanz while he looks at her dismay.
"Im Hanz, Hanz Cort."
"Hanz Cort... What a unique and strange name. Well Im May, May Lesley."
"May Lesley.. I guess nice to meet you"
As he was about to speak the train made another sharp stop "Welcome to Balsken Street" The speaker speaks outloud. Hanz Took the chance as people start leaving the train, he searched thoroughly in the train, insepcting every inch of the seats. After what seems to be a long search he straighten his back and huff dismayed.
"Im f*****!" He uncontrollably shouts as he failed to find the novel. He sat down on the free sit behind him and stare at the air blankly trying to process that the most valuable thing that he owns just got lost, he felt like he lost the reason to live. May, who is still standing looks at him with a pity look. She sat down beside him but he barely even notcies everything around him as if he's a sitting corpse.
"Hey, are you okay?" May asked carefully.
"Do I look like I'm alright?" Hanz looks at May with blank eyes "Oh I'm sorry but don't ruin your mental health over this book I'm pretty sure theres a copy of it somewhere." May said as Hanz looked at her with slight anger
"There's no copy of it everywhere, even if you search it on internet or everywhere. I really need it." Hanz look down as he's trying his hardest to not cry infront of may
"THRUMMM."
As they talk the power goes out, the people inside the train gasp some are shock and some panic. The train was still on stop but the problem is the door is closed so all they see is pitch black. Hanz still doesn't care, he stares down with his hand over his forehead.
May moves closer to hanz as she was startled and scared.
"Hey.... What's happening, Hanz?" May exclaim as she stares at the pitch black air. Hanz didn't speak nor move as if he doesn't really care wheter if theres a sudden apocalypse happened right before his eyes.
Suddenly, a man shouted "RUN! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" The crowd panics and scramble. May looks at the crowd running from her direction, there is no clear sighting of the source of what are they running from but there is noise, a noise from a creature not from this world. "Hanz.... I think we need to run." May nervously said tapping hans shoulder while looking at the running crowd.
Damn, I really messed up. I cannot find the book and there's really no copy of it. If I could just...
"HANZ!" may shouted at his ears as he looks up puzzled, he was so in his thoughts that he cannot hear anything around him.
In the background a large creature with 5 long sharp legs, its head is like an animal while its hands is sharp like spider. The creature grab a man wearing a tuxedo and eats its head.
As the crowd runs, Hanz was brought back to reality, he stands up and grab May's hand "Let's go."
"What is that thing?.."
"I don't know."
