The sound of silver clattering with ceramic was the only noise in the majestic dining hall, along with the random chewing noises at intervals. The atmosphere wasn't awkward nor serious, for this wasn't the first time Tesarius and Sera were dining together. They often did this, if not every day, and sometimes they'd be joined by Edward and they'd discuss the latest events or share idle gossip. When the three are together, all the barriers that draws a line between their status's are lowered, and the three friends talk like how they used to when they were younger. They were friends after all.
But strangely, that was not the case today. Tesarius made no inclination to converse, and Sera didn't start any either. And a part of her already knew why. She could sense Tesarius's annoyance. It was brewing out of him like thick smoke.
"I heard you had lunch with the sixth Concubine yesterday."
