[Reward Granted: flash Lightning Step Technique and heaven splitting blow.]
Kai's mind was instantly flooded with information.
'Lightning flash attack'
Before the attack could connect, Kai vanished, reappearing behind Xiao Zong. "You missed," he whispered, his blade tracing a shallow cut across Xiao Zong's arm.
Xiao Zong growled, clutching his arm. Xiao Zheng narrowed his eyes, his grip tightening on his sword. "You're no ordinary cultivator... Who are you?"
Kai tilted his head, his gaze sharp. "Me? Just a lazy man who hates being bothered. And right now, you two are very bothersome."
"You'll regret underestimating us."
Xiao Zheng roared, his sword slashing in a flurry of strikes. Kai blocked each blow with minimal effort, his expression unchanging. "Are you done yet?"
Xiao Zheng faltered, breathing heavily. Xiao Zong charged again, his fists glowing brighter than ever. "Die!"
Kai sighed. "Still not learning, are you?" With a blur of motion, he dodged Xiao Zong's attack and struck his chest with the flat of his sword. Xiao Zong crashed to the ground, groaning in pain.
Xiao Zheng hesitated, but Kai was already in front of him. "You lost."
Kai said, his blade hovering near Xiao Zheng's neck. "Go back to wherever you came from and don't come back here again."
Xiao Zheng gritted his teeth but stepped back, supporting the injured Xiao Zong.
Kai turned away though he knew they would surely come back again but he didn't care much about that and went back to the Empress, his gaze lazy yet focused.
"Are you alright?" she asked, her voice filled with concern. After all, he had just taken on two Great Emperors at once. Her worry was evident, but Ling Tian merely offered her a calm smile, as if the battle had been little more than a trivial annoyance.
The National Teacher, who had been observing the events with a sharp eye, spoke up to explain the situation. "The National Teacher of the Xianwu Dynasty is far more dangerous than the two Great Emperors you just defeated. His greatest weapon is his mind."
Kai unfazed by the warning. "Don't worry about him. Leave it to me," he replied confidently, his eyes twinkling with mischief. The discussion around them began to heat up, the elders whispering and exchanging confused glances. The Empress, with a cold, composed expression, turned to introduce Kai.
"This is Kai Wusheng from the Starlight Cascade Sect, and your future king," she declared, her voice icy but resolute.
An elder, clearly taken aback, stammered, "This... how can this happen?"
The Empress's gaze turned frosty, her voice laced with unshakable authority. "Are you questioning my decision?"
Kai, watching the exchange, couldn't help but smirk. 'As expected of my wife' he thought, his heart swelling with pride.
"Prepare for the wedding ceremony," the Empress continued, her voice unwavering. "The wedding will be held in two days."
"Are you that eager to marry him?" national advisor muttered softly in empress ear with a smirk. At her words, the Empress's cheeks flushed crimson, and she quickly averted her gaze, her embarrassment palpable.
"What's wrong?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
National advisor words caused the empress to give an embarrassed smile, withdrawing her gaze from the him.
"Nothing," the Empress muttered, her voice soft, trying to cover her flustered expression.
At this moment, one of the elders, who had followed Kai from the Sect, spoke up in concern.
"This can't happen! Two days aren't enough for us to prepare properly. We still need to arrange things in the Sect and prepare the gifts."
Kai nodded, a small frown appearing on his face as he imagined the Sect Master's reaction. 'He'll probably cry, asking, 'Ancestral Master, did we do something wrong that you don't want to come back to the Sect?'
The National Advisor, hearing this, suggested, "We could hold the wedding in six days. Seventh day is an auspicious date."
Everyone present agreed with a collective nod. The Empress made the announcement. The streets of the Scarlet Phoenix Dynasty were soon filled with bustling preparations, decorations, and celebrations for the upcoming royal wedding.
...
BOOM!
A sudden explosion outside startled everyone. The Elders, Empress, and Kai rushed outside to see what had caused the commotion. Standing just outside the barrier was an old man, flanked by two generals and a thousand soldiers flying in formation. The sight sent a chill down the Empress's spine.
"I didn't expect him to come directly," she muttered with a tense expression.
"You should not get involved in this. I will fulfill my promise in the next life. A single thought from him could either save or destroy a kingdom not just because he is powerful, he is cunning and his intelligence is known throughout the nations."
As the Empress was about to charge at him with the intent of mutual destruction, the National Teacher bowed respectfully. "Please, save our kingdom."
Kai stopped the Empress with a raised hand. "Leave him to me. He's not worth your time."
"But—" the Empress began, but Kai cut her off, his tone teasing. "Don't worry, leave it to your husband."
His words, playful yet full of confidence, caused the Empress to flush. She quickly turned away to hide her embarrassment, though a small smile tugged at her lips as Empress was new to this feeling.
The old man spoke again, his voice filled with arrogance. "Surrender, Empress. It's the best option for everyone."
Kai, unbothered, approached the barrier with slow, deliberate steps. "Wait here. I'll deal with this," he said, then walked out of the barrier, standing before the old man face to face. The air between them crackled with tension.

"So, you're the one who defeated the two generals?" the old man Guo asked, his gaze sharp as his generals, Xiao Hong and Xiao Zheng, glared at Kai, poised to strike.
Kai's mouth corner turned upward, making a smirk. "It seems so, judging by the looks on their faces."
"Kai, surrender now!" Xiao Zhong barked, his voice echoing like thunder. "Even with your reputation, you cannot withstand the combined might of three Emperors."
His words struck a nerve with the two generals, and Xiao Zong immediately lunged at him. But before he could make a move, the old man stopped him with a word.
The old man turned back to Kai, an unsettling calm in his voice. "Why don't you give me some face? I will reward you handsomely."
Kai sighed with a boring face. "Why does every villain follow the same tired script? For once, be a little more creative."
The old man's eyes flashed with irritation, his patience growing thin. "So, there's no room for negotiation?"
Kai smiled lightly. "Exactly. But, I've heard that you're quite good at Go. How about we settle this with a game, instead of a fight?"
The suggestion caught everyone off guard. Laughter spread among the onlookers, their disbelief palpable. The old man, however, was stunned. He couldn't fathom why Kai was suggesting a GO match, as his achievement is known throughout the eastern continent or he is a fool who doesn't know the immensity of heaven and earth.
"You want to play Go with me?" The old man's voice contained mockery with a disdainful smile. "Do you even know who I am?"
Kai smiled lightly. "I know. But why fight when we can settle things much more civilly?"
Xiao Zong, standing next to the old man, shouted, "Xiao Zheng, did you hear that? Hahaha He wants to compete in Go with the old man."
Kai continued, unbothered by their reactions. "If I win, you leave, and never attack the Scarlet Phoenix Dynasty again. If you win, I'll do anything you ask?"
An elder muttered, "We're doomed." Others nodded in silent agreement, worry etched on their faces
