I was escorted out of the room, and I could hear voices coming from a large door. I guessed that's where the party was happening. My heart was racing so fast that I thought I was about to die. I didn't know what to do. I was confused. I didn't know what was waiting for me.
"It's time now. Make sure you do as you're told," the old woman warned, and I nodded my head. I had no choice. She knocked on the door, and it was opened from the inside. She pushed me forward to walk, and I did as I was told. All I heard was the sound of the door closing after I got inside.
There was loud music playing, but that wasn't what caught my attention. What caught my attention was the crowd of people in the room. The maids I worked with were all with their men. Then I remembered what I was told. I was meant for Nicholas, the old woman had said earlier.
