Seth has been looking at this message for twenty minutes. The first ten minutes were nothing except confusion and suspicion; the next ten minutes were acceptance but still confusion. For the first time in 20 minutes, he looks away from the message and observes his environment.
He was inside what seemed to be a small cabin made specifically for one person. Everything that was needed inside a home was within his view. For instance, he could see the kitchen, which was only a couple of steps away from the bed. The dresser was next to a desk setup covered with books and other miscellaneous items. In truth, Seth was only distracting himself from how he truly felt by looking at his surroundings.
'I feel sick... being comfortable inside an unfamiliar home.' Seth wore a sour expression on his face, uncertain about how to feel. 'It simply makes no sense how I'm here. It could only be explained with anime logic.' That's all Seth could come up with to explain his reason for being in this situation. But instead of constantly dwelling on those thoughts, he decided to stop complaining and prepare for what's ahead. 'I have many questions, but there's no point in asking since I won't receive any answers. Right now, all I need is information.' Seth's eyes darted around the cabin once more, but this time to confirm a suspicion of his.
'No way... there are no power outlets!' Somewhat in denial, Seth jumped out of the bed and stood up. 'It must be because it's a cheap cabin.' Seth looked at the source of the light he was getting that was coming from a window behind the desk. With hope in his steps, Seth walked towards the desk and slowly leaned over to look out the window.
Now that he was finally out of his head, all kinds of sounds began filling his ears, which made him grimace, and after his eyes adjusted to the sunlight, he took in the full view of the unfamiliar land.
There were people with swords on their backs talking about who knows what, others setting up food stands, and buildings that were built like old medieval times. But there were a few confusing sightings. 'Is that a cigarette?' When Seth looked closely, people were wearing clothes that resembled modern clothing. It was confusing his brain, so he stood there for 5 minutes watching people talk, walk, and set up their shops. Not a single person pulled out a phone or any other technology, which confirmed all of Seth's illogical thoughts. 'This is definitely not my original world.' Seth felt panicked and opted for zoning out back into his head but felt something brush past his ear.
Once again, he was shocked. When he began raising his hand to feel his ear, he caught a glimpse of his reflection in the window. 'Who is this?' He was looking at a face that was not his own. Though he could not rule out the possibility since he was in another world, he rubbed his eyes to make sure, and his appearance was still the same unfamiliar guy. And again, he was sucked into his own thoughts but was pulled out once again by another system message.

'What in the world? It's forcing me to start now?' Seth was slightly annoyed at the system message but forced himself not to think too much. Instead, what he did was look at the desk with a curious gaze. 'I need to figure out who this guy is before I walk out of here.' Feeling rushed, Seth began looking through all of the assorted papers on the desk, scanning them one by one. He would've read through them all, but the time limit was weighing heavy on him mentally.
After searching, he was only left with two significant papers in his hand. 'Receipt of purchased land and ownership of the cabin that shows the date, but I don't know the current date.' He paid close attention to these two papers. 'Seth Laurence? We have the same first name, and the village chief is Charles Walker.' Seth slowly started feeling better the more information he learned. It reminded him of the mystery books he read. But he was not satisfied. 'I need some more information about who I am.' He continued searching the desk, and in the last drawer, he found what he was looking for. There was a stone tablet that was inscribed with "Seth's" information. 'Wait a second... there's 2?' Seth grabbed both of them.
{Name: Seth Arling
Age: 19
Height: 6'1 (187)
Relations: Arling Family (Illegitimate)
...}
The other stone tablet had the same information, except he was said to be an orphan. 'He must've secretly left after getting a fake ID... what a troublesome life.' Seth could only sigh, thinking about future annoyances. Seth was also surprised at the young age. 'Even though I wasn't that much older, it's still a shocker,' but he quickly moved on. After checking everything on the desk, Seth sat down on the chair and sighed once more. But he didn't relax as his eyes darted everywhere around the cabin. 'There's a pouch on the counter in the kitchen, but first...' Seth got off the chair and got on his knees facing the bed. He checked under the bed with expectations that were met. 'I knew it!' There was a slightly opened safe under the bed.
Seth had already deduced there was a safe somewhere within the cabin. 'There's just too many important things sitting out, like the IDs. Seeing the safe slightly opened, he must've taken them out but had to throw them in the drawer in a hurry to hide them... but from who? Though that's a suspicion, it's also a possibility. Considering he ran away from something, he could also be getting searched for.' There were many thoughts running rampant in Seth's head, but he disregarded them quickly and focused back on the safe. He carefully slid the safe out from underneath the bed and slowly placed it on the bed. 'It's a pattern password made with some kind of sand?' Looking at it, Seth could easily see a finger was used to make the pattern. 'Similar to the Chinese symbol for air... luckily, my first and only girlfriend was Chinese.' Thinking back on it made Seth scowl, but he moved on, making sure to engrave that symbol in his mind.
Opening the safe, there was nothing but what seemed to be cash, checks, and a singular book. 'I see money will not be a problem, but what's this?' As Seth was about to reach inside to grab the book, he heard footsteps near the cabin.
*Knock Knock*
His heart began to beat faster, and his mind raced. 'Who is that?' Instead of stalling, Seth quickly grabbed the real ID and stuffed it inside the safe, closing it quickly and sliding it under the bed. He stood up immediately and controlled his breathing. 'This is too sudden... whatever.' Seth walked towards the front door, which was in between the kitchen and his laying space. And with a quick inhale and exhale, he opened the door with an expressionless face. The bright sun hit his eyes, causing him to groan, but he quickly adjusted.
"Sorry if I woke you up, but my mother sent me to ask if you could cover the morning shift at the library today since the village chief is requesting her help."
The speaker was a girl appearing to be in her early twenties, with tan skin, light brown hair that went to her shoulders, and little freckles on her face with hazel eyes. She had to look up slightly because of the height difference. Seth jotted down everything about her appearance in his mind and stored it as information. Her face was round but not fatty. She was wearing a thin, unzipped blue jacket with a cropped plain white t-shirt underneath, gray sweatpants, and white slides.
Noticing that Seth wasn't saying anything, she spoke once again. "She also said she will pay extra since your situation is... tough," she said the last part with a little pity. 'I see, not only is he hiding his identity, but he's also a liar,' Seth thought back to the safe. But after escaping his thoughts, he finally responded.
"Alright... I'll be there shortly."
After speaking, Seth's eyes widened in surprise. 'Why is his voice so low and deep?' Seth also noticed the girl was slightly surprised as well.
"Then please be there within 10 minutes. Currently, nobody is behind the counter." After saying what she needed to say, she turned around and walked away. Seth slowly closed the door and sighed while running his fingers through his hair, which was a habit in his past life.
'Everything has a time limit, huh?' He scoffed and looked at the pouch.
