CASSIE
I have a huge smile on my face. The pack members kept staring at me. They all knew what was going on. Everyone knew who Xavier was to me so it wasn't a secret. Even his parent knows that he is my mate. He has the best parent ever, trust me. They see me as their child anytime I visit them.
I still can't get that nervous feeling out of my chest. I don't understand why I have this gut feeling that something huge is about to happen. I know I need to stop all these thoughts right now. I'm supposed to be happy. I haven't been this happy for years.
When Xavier and I drifted apart, I tried calling him several times but his number was always not reachable. I had to speak to Luna for help and she made me understand that he needed to concentrate on himself. He needs no distraction and I tried to see the reason for that and thought that is why he stopped picking up my calls. To be honest I wasn't complaining. I just miss him so much
I miss his touch, his caresses. His smile, argh! I miss him so much.
" Cassie !" I heard my name being called and I didn't need to turn to know who that was. It's my best friend, Sophia. She approached me with a huge smile.
I noticed lately she's been acting strangely towards me, I didn't want to think too much about it but then everyone is always busy with their lives right?
" Hey Susan," I said with a wave of my hand. She stood right in front of me .
" I see you are here to wait for the alpha," she said and I nodded with a smile.
" I can't wait to see him. It's been ages " I said to her sincerely
Sophia offered me a smile. It looks rather fake if you ask me but didn't want to think too much about that "So what are you up to lately? We don't see as often as we do"
She chuckled "You know I've gotten a job and I've been so busy with it "
I made a 'O' sound " that's good to know. I'm really happy for you to be honest. I think it's time I plan my future too. I need a job too" I joked and she laughed.
" Yeah. I hope you don't mind if I join you as we wait for the alpha ?" She said and I didn't see that as anything so I shrugged "Feel free to. He is the alpha after all. Everyone can't wait to see him "
" I know right . " She said with a smile "I'm sure he is much more handsome than he used to be before . I remember his cute smile back then," she said with a little smile which I found strange. Don't want to think that my friend is crushing on my man, I hope that isn't the case.
" Yeah, Xavier has always been a cutie " I answered her "My cutie "
The smile on her face fell instantly "Yeah right "
Then we heard the sound of the car. They are here. The pack members began to gather also. My heart won't stop racing. I can't help it anymore. I'm sure I look like a wife waiting for the return of her husband. I can't wait to be his bride. That won't be such a bad thing, right? I like the sound of that.
I gushed at the sigh of a blue Ferrari. This man sure knows how to put on a show. He has good taste in cars. " oh wow "
" Wow," Sophia gushed beside me.
I'm sure she is as excited as I am. Nothing else is attached to that.
" The alpha is here " someone yelled from the crowd and I couldn't hide my smile. He is sure loved by the park members.
Another SUV drove into the premises. That should be his guards. My Xavier must be in the Ferrari. The guards got out of the SUV and went ahead to get the door for Xavier to come out of. The door finally got opened and then he pulled out one of his legs first and then his whole body got out of the car. I gasped in awe. He was so handsome.
I could hear some gushing sounds in the crowd. I didn't know either to run and hug him but I just stood and admired him from where I was. His eyes scanned the crowd as if searching for me and they finally landed on me. I expected him to smile but what happened shocked me.
Xavier turned his eyes away like he didn't know I was the one standing. I was confused. I thought it could be because of the shade he put on right. I didn't want to get it all wrong so I waited for him to remove his shade which he did. I thought he was going to give me a second look but no, instead he turned to the car and Stretched his hand to something or rather someone in the car. I was confused not sure who that might be.
Then I saw a lady's hand on top of him. He helped her come out of the car. My heart stopped for a second cos I hope it ain't what I'm thinking. This can't be happening to me. The lady finally got out of the car and I saw her this time around. She was in a red gown that hugged her figure. She looks like a model. A gorgeous one at that.
I didn't know what to think or say I just watched in awe all that was happening before me. On second thought, she could be his friend, right? Maybe I should step forward and speak to him. That is exactly what I did.
I took a step forward and called his name " Xavier "
Xavier stared at me for a second. I thought he didn't recognize me earlier but he did exactly what he did the other time, he broke eye contact and whispered something to the lady beside him. She blushed at what he said and I felt like my heart got trampled on.
I tried to be brave trying to justify his actions toward me. He made me look like a fool in the presence of everyone. He didn't even say a word to me. I couldn't control my emotions so I went forward to touch his hand and he withdrew his hand as if my touch burned him.
" Don't fucking touch me " he hissed and I stared at him confused.
" It's me Cassie " I tried saying but the glare on his face said it all that he doesn't want to have anything to do with me "It's me "
He glared at me " I don't know what you want. If you must excuse me. I need to be inside the house " With that being said, Xavier made his way to the pack and made me look like a desperate fool.
Xavier majestically helped his lady and they went away leaving me dumbfounded. I couldn't help my breaking heart. I need to leave this place instantly.
I could see the look of pity from the pack members. I refused to let them pity me. I couldn't bear this so I ran away from the scene.

I couldn't think of a better place to go to other than going back home. My heart was broken to pieces and I doubt it would be same ever again. I can't believe Xavier made me look stupid in the presence of everyone. I feel so stupid in the first place for going there to see him. If only I knew something like this would happen then I wouldn't have gone.
Mom saw my wet face and she quickly dropped whatever she was holding "Oh dear "
I ran to her outstretched arms. I am glad I have someone like her to console me
" He made me look stupid Mom. Xavier made me look stupid " I hiccup as my tears doubled
Mom pat my back and kept murmuring calm words into my ears " I'm sure there is a reason for this. I know Xavier won't do anything out of context "
What she said made me pull away and stare at her "What do you mean? Do you think I did something wrong? Don't you trust me anymore Mom? " I wiped my tears "What did I do to make him treat me like trash? You should have seen the way he stared at me like a nobody. I have never felt so much stupid in my life"
She held my face in her palm "Don't ever say that. I never had a stupid daughter and will never have one "
I shook my head " Then why would he treat me that way? Is it because I'm a nobody? Is that it Mom? I thought love doesn't care about riches and being poor so why is he doing this to me ?"
Mom offered me a small smile " Why not ask him what the issue was? Remember there is going to be a welcoming party tomorrow at the alpha mansion, why not use that opportunity to ask him "
I haven't thought about the party. I think Mom is right. I quickly wiped my tears " I think I'll do that "
" You'll not do any such thing. I won't let my daughter ridicule herself in the presence of that boy " Dad said from nowhere.
