Mason Wilson paced his study, the weight of his failures pressing heavily on his shoulders. Every plan he had meticulously crafted had been dismantled, and his anger burned brighter than ever. His mind raced as he decided to take matters into his own hands.
"This ends now," he muttered, picking up his phone to summon his most trusted men.
In his office, Aiden sat staring at his phone. For years, he had held onto the memory of the mysterious girl who had sent him the confession letter. He typed a message:
"I don't know who you are, but you gave me hope when I needed it most. Thank you."
He hit send, but to his shock, Sophie's phone buzzed nearby. His heart skipped a beat as realization dawned—Sophie was the girl. A mix of emotions surged through him, but before he could process them, guilt took over. He quickly unsent the message and left for work, needing time to think.
Sophie, noticing Aiden's distracted demeanor, decided to follow him to the company. As she parked her car and began walking toward the building, a black van screeched to a halt beside her. Two men jumped out, grabbing her and dragging her into the vehicle.
"Let me go!" Sophie screamed, thrashing against their hold.
"Stay quiet!" one of the men barked, pressing a cloth to her face. The world blurred, and she lost consciousness.
Aiden was in the middle of a meeting when his phone rang. Seeing Mason's name, he stepped outside to answer.
"What do you want, Mason?"
Mason's voice was calm but menacing. "I have Sophie. If you want her back, bring me the company documents and all assets tonight."
Aiden's blood ran cold. "If you harm her—"
"Save your threats. Just do as I say, or you'll regret it."
That evening, Aiden arrived at an abandoned warehouse, clutching a briefcase filled with the demanded documents. His heart raced as he saw Sophie tied to a chair, her face pale but defiant.
Mason greeted him with a smug smile. "Right on time, little brother."
Aiden threw the briefcase onto the table. "Let her go, Mason."
Mason ignored him, flipping through the documents. "You always had it all, didn't you? The family, the legacy, the love. But not anymore."
"What are you talking about?" Aiden demanded.
Mason's expression turned dark. "Mother made you head of the family. She left me with nothing, so I made sure she wouldn't stand in my way."
Aiden froze. "You... you hurt her?"
"She deserved it," Mason said coldly. "And now, I'll take everything from you."
Mason raised his gun, aiming it at Aiden. Before he could pull the trigger, Sophie broke free from her restraints and threw herself in front of Aiden. A gunshot echoed through the warehouse, and Sophie fell to the ground, clutching her side.
"Sophie!" Aiden cried, catching her as she collapsed.
Mason hesitated, his hand trembling. Before he could act further, police sirens blared outside. Officers stormed the warehouse, their guns drawn.
"Mason Wilson, you're under arrest!" one officer shouted.
Mason dropped the gun and was twisted by rage.As he led away he snarled , "This isn't over , Aiden. You will pay for this."
