Khalid went to a near by cave and took shelter from the rain, the drops had wet him a lot so he collected the driest scraps of wood he found and made a fire with them. Now, left practically naked, he was sitting close to the fire and had the notebook in his hand. He was careful not to touch any pages with his inked finger, hoping to not ruin any of the notebook.
Now that he was alone and calm, he took a look at everything again. His mother gave him a really posh looking ink pen which had a golden tip and a dark black stick.
The ink bottle was of a small cube and held a maximum of 500 ml of ink inside. It didn't have a lid on top so the ink was constantly exposed to the surrounding environment.
And last but definitely not least, he was provided with a notebook. This note book contained lots of weird symbols that he felt that he should be able to recognise but he didn't.
The last page of this notebook contained 3 things that he did recognise, and it said

This was one of the stories that he remembered his mother used to tell him as child. And he also remembered that she had a discreet warning when it came to this story. Something about looking for something? He had no idea.
It was getting colder and darker outside and the rain didn't seem to be letting off. The shuddering of lightning kept ringing at his ears.
Khalid finally felt how truly alone he is. He curled up in the corner of the cave and pulled his legs in close to his chest and wrapped them with his hands, of course still naked, and started to doze to the disturbing yet very familiar sounds of the rain.
And as soon as he is about to doze, he hears footsteps coming from the entrance, and he quickly reaches for his dagger and becomes ready to throw it at full force.
1 step, 2 steps, 3 steps.
With each approaching step his heart fell deeper in his chest, each step felt like the earth shook with it. Khalid turned off the fire so that he doesn't attract attention to the intruder.
Soon a figure emerged at the horizon of his view. The figure seemed to be his height and had long hair, must be a girl, and he most likely was right, it had a slender figure that looked fragile and it was holding its arm.
As soon as it was close enough, Khalid sprang from his position and in a swift movement, made the figure trip over his leg and he pinned it to the floor, then putting his dagger next to its neck he asks,
'What are you doing here?'
'Hiding from the rain' says the now confirmed woman without a hint of hesitation.
'Are you completely sure?'
'Positive.'
'Do you have any weapons?'
'What if I do?'
'I will be taking them for the duration of the time we are together.'
'You will give it back, right?' she asks in such a way that suggested a harsh life with scamming.
'Swear upon my name.'
'Ok, I have a pocket knife in my left pocket and a wakizashi in the right side of my waist.' and after saying this Khalid easily takes the pocket knife but becomes a little shy to reach for the wakizashi.
'I will trust you to give it to me yourself.'
'oh~ a little shy are we? Alright I will give it to you.' she says and gives the wakizashi to him right after he lets her go.
Alright follow me.
They head deeper into the cave and turn on the fire up and roaring. Then she says -
'So? Can I know your name?'
'You're going first, since you invaded my area.'
Sighing she says- 'Alright, my name is Elena Crimson, part of the Crimson family, now its your turn.'
Crimson? Is she Scarlets sister?
'Hellooo? Can I know your name?'
'Oh yeah, I am... Khalid, my name is Khalid, nice to meet you Elena.'
There falls a thick and disturbing awkwardness between them after that, and after a long time pf silence Elena breaks it by saying - 'I came to visit my dead Grandparents. They used to live here before it got destroyed by that thing.'
'Sorry for your loss...' said Khalid trying to condole to her loss. Of course he didn't feel the need to share his problems with her so instead he miss lead her-
'I came here to full fill a request that I promised to full fill long ago.'
'Oh really, that's actually really interesting, what might that be?'
'That might be something that is not related to you so in turn you should not bother yourself to know.'
'Ahhh come on, I told you mine. Why not tell me yours?'
'Because its not your business, maybe? But I do have something that may be your business.'
'Oh~, and what may that be?'
'I know someone of your family.'
'Eh... And who may that be?'
'Someone that teaches at my school, Scarlet Crimson.'
As soon as those words left his mouth Elen became serious, her googly eyes turned concentrated, she started to play with her red long hair.
'Uh... Did I make a mistake? I apologise? Look I don't know how to deal with these situations'.
Elena chuckled and said- 'No, no do not worry, it is not you who is making me feel bad right now , its remembering about Scarlet that ruined my mood.'
And now Khalid was truly intrigued.
