Chapter 23 - FAMILY DINNER 2

Evelyn didn't get the chance to ask anything after his words. Carlos had already left, his usual cold aura lingering in the air.

She stood in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection. Tonight, I'm going to meet Carlos' family.

Will they hate her? Maybe. Would they like her? She doubted it.

She was just an inferior girl, someone who had lost everything. They'll probably hate me.

A knock on the door pulled her out of her thoughts.

"Come in," she said.

A maid stepped inside, holding a tablet.

"The boss asked me to give this to you," she said, bowing before leaving.

Evelyn turned on the tablet, and the first image that appeared was of Mr. Louis Tyler—the chairman and Carlos' grandfather. The second was Chloe Tyler—his sister, described as the cheeky type. The third was Mrs. Jen Tyler—his aunt. And that was it.

She frowned. What about his brother? His mother? His uncle? His cousins?

She stopped herself. Or… are they the only ones who will be there?

A wave of relief washed over her. At least she wouldn't have to face too many people. Maybe she could manage to act less nervous.

Another knock interrupted her thoughts.

"Come in," she said again.

A group of familiar faces entered—the stylists and dressers she had worked with before.

"We're here per Mr. Tyler's orders," said the stylist, a girlish-looking man with a bright smile with heavy makeup, as usual.

"We're here to transform you," the stylist continued. "Just leave yourself to us."
