Chapter 5: System Adjustments
---
Adam stared at the glowing blue window in front of him, its message declaring his newly created skill, Mark and Attack, as successful.
He couldn't help but feel a surge of pride, marveling at how the system allowed such a significant modification without rejecting it outright.
But his excitement was short-lived. A new prompt flashed in red, its bold letters glaring at him:
_________________
Warning:
Skill Creation at this level is not permitted.

Adam's eyes narrowed, unease replacing his earlier triumph. Before he could process the message, another window appeared:
___________________
Error:
The game system has no record of an Administrative Class. This warning is being bypassed.

Adam's mouth opened slightly in astonishment. The series of messages kept coming, leaving him more bewildered with each passing moment.
________________________
Congratulations! Your skill, Mark and Attack, has been successfully created.

His surprise turned to shock as another prompt emerged:
____________________________
An abnormal class has been detected. Adjustments are being made to the game system.
____________________________
Then came another:
____________________________
Patch 2.1 is being released to address game system changes.
____________________________
Adam's gaze darted from one window to the next, trying to make sense of the sudden chaos.
A final red window appeared, more ominous than the others:
_____________________
The Administrative Class has been registered into the game system. Certain bypass abilities have been restricted.

Adam blinked, overwhelmed by the torrent of updates. He muttered, "So, they're rebalancing the system… but why now? Did my class trigger all this?"
Taking a deep breath, Adam steadied himself. "It doesn't matter," he said firmly. "I got what I needed."
He exhaled slowly, continuing his monologue, "My class ignored the game's rules before, but now, it looks like I'll have to follow them. That's fine. I've already secured my edge."
Just as he finished speaking, another blue window appeared:
________________________
Reality Manipulation has been fully utilized. This skill is now on cooldown.
________________________
A timer below the message read:
________________________
23 hours, 59 minutes, and 40 seconds remaining.

"I have done what I had to do, though I did not have that much expectation but whatever you have given is much more than my expectation" Adam is thinking this while looking at the system window.
Adam sighed and dismissed the window with a wave of his hand. "I guess I'll just have to wait," he muttered.
He opened his status window for a final check:

"I changed it, this system window on which everyone's life depends a lot in the future"
Adam can't believe his eyes, his life has changed, now he is again in the game which made his life hell, Adam still can't believe the interface in front of him.
A smirk crossed Adam's lips. "My plan worked perfectly," he said quietly. "Now, nothing can stop me from achieving my goal."
Adam rose from the ground, brushing off dirt from his black outfit. The forest around him was alive with faint rustling sounds, the morning breeze swaying the treetops. Taking a deep breath, he murmured, "It's time to gather experience points."
With renewed determination, Adam ventured deeper into the forest.
The terrain grew uneven, roots and rocks jutting out from the ground, while the sound of leaves rustling grew louder with each step.
The air felt cooler here, shadows stretching long across the path as sunlight filtered through the dense canopy.
After walking for some time, Adam paused. A faint noise reached his ears—a rhythmic slashing sound followed by a soft squelch. He slowed his steps, moving cautiously toward the source of the noise.
Peering from behind a tree, Adam saw a player battling slimes in a small clearing.
The player's username hovered above his head: BlockHead.
BlockHead was locked in combat with three slimes.
With a swift swing of his sword, he split the first slime cleanly into two, the gelatinous creature dissolving into bright light.
Another slash took down the second slime, leaving only one standing.
With a confident thrust, BlockHead plunged his sword into the final slime, which burst into light, leaving behind a small red crystal.
Raising his arms triumphantly, BlockHead exclaimed, "Man, these graphics are amazing! Just 30 more slimes, and I'll level up!"
Adam watched silently, a thoughtful expression on his face. He stayed hidden behind the tree, observing the player's actions closely.
After watching the player defeat the slimes, Adam decided to move on.
"I don't need to waste my time on slimes," he thought, his confidence bolstered by his powerful skills.
Mark and Attack had been specifically designed to help him gather experience quickly and efficiently, far beyond what ordinary players could achieve.
As Adam walked deeper into the forest, his mind wandered to the creatures that inhabited the Beginner Village. He remembered them vividly from his past life.
The first type was Slimes, the weakest monsters in the area, typically level 1 or 3. Most players targeted slimes to gain their initial experience points.
These creatures were slow and easy to defeat, making them the go-to choice for beginners.
Occasionally, a Slime Boss—ranging from level 2 to 3—would appear, offering a chance for players to level up faster.
Defeating a Slime Boss granted extra unassigned stat points, which players could allocate to build their characters based on their future class preferences.
Although Adam has a chance to use his skills to kill this slime, but this will waste a lot of Adam's time so he should not pay attention here and focus elsewhere.
The second type of monsters was Fang Rabbits, which ranged from level 3 to 5. These swift creatures were highly sought after by experienced beginners and pro players.
Fang Rabbits posed a greater challenge due to their speed and agility, but they offered significantly more experience points.
Adam smiled to himself as he recalled his own struggles with these creatures in his previous life.
Back then, playing on a monitor and PC, he had struggled to adapt to the VR mechanics.
Fang Rabbits had bested him several times, their quick movements and sudden attacks proving too much for his slower reactions.
"Those were frustrating days," Adam thought, shaking his head. "But this time, things will be different."
Adam's thoughts turned darker as he remembered how the Fang Rabbits—and much of the Beginner Village—were effectively controlled by powerful guilds.
New players had to obtain permission from these guilds to hunt certain monsters.
In return, they were forced to surrender 50% of the experience points they earned.
This system trapped many players in a cycle of servitude.
They spent most of their time grinding for the guilds rather than advancing on their own.
Adam recalled how many beginners remained stuck at lower levels, unable to break free from the control of these organizations.
"It was a rigged system," Adam muttered under his breath. "But not for me, not this time."
Adam will not hunt these monsters either, as he has developed his skills in such a way that he will not face much difficulty in killing even very high level monsters.
Adam's pace quickened as he shifted his focus to the most dangerous monsters in the Beginner Village: Red Wolves, which ranged from level 5 to 10. These creatures were notorious for their speed and ferocity, and even professional players avoided them unless they formed a party.
Unlike slimes and Fang Rabbits, Red Wolves were unpredictable. Their attacks were relentless, and their agility made them incredibly difficult to defeat.
Most beginners steered clear of them, opting for safer targets.
But Adam wasn't like most players.
A confident grin spread across his face. "I'm heading straight for the Red Wolves," he said aloud, his voice filled with determination.
Atom's confidence comes from the clothes he has with him since the previous version of the game, which have a special spell cast on them.
He delved deeper into the forest, the towering trees and dense foliage casting shadows across his path.
His black outfit blended seamlessly with the surroundings, its dark material and hooded design concealing him almost entirely.
Adam's hand brushed against the fabric of his outfit, its texture smooth and comforting. "I'm lucky the system let me keep my PC character," he mused. "This outfit is a lifesaver."
The extra property of his attire—a stealth ability that masked his presence—had already proven invaluable.
Adam marveled at how such a powerful feature had gone unnoticed by the game system during his character transfer.
Adjusting his hood, Adam whispered, "They missed a critical detail. And now, it's going to give me the edge I need."
The chapter concluded with Adam moving deeper into the forest, his thoughts focused and his resolve unwavering. Ahead of him lay the territory of the Red Wolves—a dangerous challenge that he was determined to conquer.
